Refreshing palate with a real twist from North American/ European fare. Nice change. Order a mint drink forget the name.. Awesome kick back place to meet friends and chow down

My best friend and I came here for a nice dinner and a chat. We got seated right away and within a few seconds later the server arrived to welcome us. The food was great and the service was good. It's not a fine dining place but it is a top notch place for dinner. We will be back again.

My food was a bit bland and I needed to pepper and hot sauce it up. My wife enjoyed hers and our friends enjoyed their three course meal. We went for Dine Out Vancouver. Service was very good.

I took my boyfriend here for his birthday and we had a wonderful night! The restaurant is nicely decorated: modern with a latin twist. Service was impeccable, and the cocktails were DELICIOUS. The food, while perhaps not entirely traditional South American, had all of the comforting flavours you expect from latino cuisine, with an upscale twist. I will definitely be... More

I started going here in 2009 when I lived in Vancouver and just came back for the first time since I moved away. So happy that the food and (more importantly) the mojitos are as delicious as I remember. The restaurant was a little noisy and overwarm (maybe from the open kitchen), and we had at least 3 servers, which... More

I am from Colombia and have been wanting to check this place out as I live in Vancouver and miss the food from my country. They claim to be the only Latin Restaurant in Vancouver with a range of dishes from different parts of South America. When I checked the menu, it looked very promising as they offered a lot... More

We went to Baru because it was recommended by Chilean friends. We walked there from UBC but there is a bus stop outside and also I read underground parking. We pre-booked our table online and this was handled very efficiently. I think this is a good idea for Friday or Saturday nights. The seating is comfortable and well spaced except... More

Staying in West Point Grey

Neighbourhood Profile
West Point Grey
West Point Grey is one of the city’s oldest neighbourhoods, especially known for its easygoing and admired beachfronts. Locals crowd the Spanish Banks and Jericho Beach, especially in the summer, where a sprawling view of the English Bay awaits. The central village is an oasis of sovereign shops, many of them in local operation for years. The neighbourhood has a more personal feeling to it, and can be a wonderful and much-needed break from the bustle of big-city life, being a little haven of peace and quiet with an almost village temperament in the heart of Vancouver.
