We visited Shuraku to try saki and Japanese "small plates" This place exceeded our expectations in every way. We had a flight of three chilled sakis and another flight of two warmed sakis. Our server, Emma, not only served our saki but gave us a wonderful lesson on saki preparation and how to be an educated consumer. Then she served... More

This was my first time in this establishment. The staff were super nice and were my ears really sensitive? I think they applauded when we left, not as in we are in happy you are leaving, but they seemed to be genuinely happy that we were guests. It's lovely to be treated well as a customer. I tried the refreshing... More

We stopped here for lunch on a whim and we were very impressed with the food, I had a porkbelly special and my wife had the yakisoba with gyoza. Both were excellent, and the service was very good.

Great Sushi, friendly and fast service. Good place to recover from shopping. Fair prices - make sure you stop by when shopping in the area

My husband and I went to Shuraku Sake not really very hungry and knowing what we really wanted to eat. Great choice. We had three items that we shared - tempura assortment, ribs (just 4 of them - they were so good, could have had more, but glad we didn't), and the enchanted forest roll. We asked the waitress to... Great Sushi and all you can eat... But if you leave food the charge you for every piece I find that great! That way they don't have waste of food like in every other all you can eat! Really great green tea!

The sushi was good, but not memorable. It was fresh, but the rolls kept falling apart. Further, the wine list was a little short.

I came here at 10pm on a Saturday night. The restaurant was about half full, and service was fast. My friend and I ordered the Deluxe Assorted Sushi Plate to share and it was enough as a light snack. The nigiri was delicious, and the real crab california roll was also good, and I don't usually like california rolls as... More

Two of us dined here in September. The table seating was comfortable. We only had Sushi which was fresh, tasty and very good. Didn't have anything else so can't comment on other food. Service was good, prices okay.

I had a busy day with Colleagues and we stopped in on our way home. The presentation of our meal was exquisite and there were many delicious options to choose from. If you enjoy raw , fresh seafood this place is just right for you. Don't forget to ask to try the Sake! Highly Reccommended 👍

Staying in Granville Street

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Street
Granville Street spans many, multiple city blocks and has become so fastidiously known for its nightclubs and watering holes that it's fondly nicknamed the city's 'Entertainment District.' Friday and Saturday nights are the most popular and lively, with young revelers taking to the streets in droves and keeping the party going until late. Granville Street, being mostly open to pedestrian-only traffic, has a healthy social life along its main thoroughfares, even outside of its cafes and pubs, spilling onto the sidewalks. The locals are chatty, the shops at its expansive Pacific Centre Mall are trendy, and the whole area seems to be on a sugar rush: in a good way. Exuberance and camaraderie classify this neighbourhood.
