Staying in a hotel around the corner, dropped in for supper, I'm a sucker for wood fired pizza, not dissapointed, great pizza, simple honest fare, great beer recommendation, fantastic service, chef came out to see how I liked it, proper service, made me feel welcome,...will be back for sureMore
Stopped in on a Saturday evening and enjoyed a pizza. Thin crusted wood fired pizza was a hit. Lots of patio seating good for enjoying their food during the pandemic. Of note a mask in the pocket of the staff is no better than the...kitchen staff who were working without masks.More
We had a light late dinner in the lobby bar of our hotel - the only venue that was open there - and that was a sushi place. That was definitely not enough and kids wanted something from their priority lists. This way we ended...up at JOS. From the first sight this place feels very European: beers, meal ingredients and style. Outside high table seating was perfect for our little dog and I assume that’s great to have an Austrian draft beer with friends. Freshly cooked pizzas are amazing! Crust is thin, but not dry - perfectly to our taste. We emotionally ordered extra one and, well, finished it, too. :) Service is fast and friendly.More
Food was good but no masks -- neither by cook, owner nor waitress. Place was not busy and they could say they were keeping their distance but we feel ALL restaurant staff owe it to respect us as customers and wear masks 100% of time.

Never to return..just the attitudes put me off..More
This place is fantastic. They don't pretend to be fancy, they don't claim to be traditional Italian, but yet they make the best pizza I have found downtown. The menu is quite short, but every detail, from the delicious pizza toppings, to the unusual Bavarian...beers, is the result of research on the field. I will definitely be back.More
My sister & I went about a month ago looking for a quick bite. We were the only 2 in the restaurant. The server was having a meeting with ‘the boss’ & barely came by. The boss poured beer even tho I had to run...a quick errand & was asked not to pour until I got back. The pizza was ok but not enough flavour. But ok....we had to ask for Parmesan cheese & pepper flakes....had to ask for forks & knifes. We kept being ignored. No one asked us how things were. She was eating at the bar while meeting with the boss. I asked for balsamic vinegar & it ended up having fruit flies in the vinegar, which I poured onto my pizza wrecking it for me to eat.
Then we were given the bill. I told the server I’m an immediate 20% but due to a drastic lack of service (with 2 people to serve) I ended up doing 10%. (I’ve been in the industry) I told the owner/boss guy that we wouldn’t be back & that I’d write a review & he probably wouldn’t like it. So....he offered my money back if I didn’t. I agreed. He offered to repay the full amount but when him I didn’t have change he grabbed a $10 & now I would be short.
I walked out so disappointed over a freaking $10 bill. Had the guy paid in full as he agreed to I probably wouldn’t have written any remarks.
Way to ruin your reputation over a silly amount of money.
And lord knows how that girl became a server. Not a clue.....
I’d like to say the pizza was almost good minus the pesky fruit flies.
Vinegar 101...stick a toothpick in the top to keep them out. Omg!More
I found Jo's based on TripAdvisor reviews and it's proximity to our hotel. Called to make a reservation just in case. We arrived on time and were immediately seated. Prompt service followed.
My wife and I ordered romaine salad to share to be followed by...a mushroom pizza to which we made an off-menu addition of salami.
The salad was excellent. Just the right amount of home made dressing along with thinly sliced aged parmesan cheese. Simple but delicious. Served with perfectly made homemade bread, extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The pizza was equally outstanding. Loads of perfectly seasoned mushrooms, just the right amount of cheese along with our added salami on a thin crust all cooked in a wood fired oven to just the right level. Just wonderful.
We topped it all off with the only dessert available. Ricotta cheese topped with blueberries and some lemon zest.
The entire experience was outstanding. The only problem is the restaurant is in Vancouver and we live in the Denver, Colorado area. Too bad.More
