"This Happy Hour raises the bar!"

Perfect in every way. Trevor the server was terrific- he explained the choices well and provided top of the mark service. Master Chef

I don’t generally like aubergine or cauliflower, but the chef did wonderful things with them. For starters we shared the “spreads platter” (taramasalata, hummus, melitzana, and tzatziki) and the octopus. I wasn’t fussed on the smoked-salmon tarama, but my wife (who loves seafood) said it...was great. The aubergine dish (melitzana) was delightful (maybe because it was smoked aubergine). The octopus was tender, but the dressing contained chilli which was not mentioned on the menu. The “Funny Business” cocktail went well with the starters. Halibut main was a good size and perfectly cooked. This came with a significant amount of “cauliflower skordalia”, a purée that I was expecting not to like but which tasted amazing and complemented the fish. Desert was bougatsa: a “custard” in delightfully crispy filo. We were defeated; I think it would serve four! All in all a thoroughly delightful culinary experience.More

Great place for dinner

The food was delicious and the service excellent. My guest is a pescatarian and commented on how well cooked and presented their salmon was. The cocktails were fabulous too and there was a great atmosphere about the restaurant. Thank you for a wonderful evening

A wonderful place to gather with family. Food is classic mediterranean; tasty and light.

Service was excellent, food even better! Came here for a large family dinner and we were so well taken care of. We must have ordered 12 different dishes and all were tasty and flavorful. The wine list was quite good according to the "sommelier-in-training "...(or so he says) in our group. Thank you for all the staff that made the evening memorable.More

Evening celebration

Great atmosphere and all dishes were tasty but we were especially impressed by the dips. The custard and chocolate cake were also impressive.

Hydra is the best

Great service and amazing food wrapped in stylish decor

First off, the decor is fantastic! Great style and really intricate details of ocean life and Mediterranean feels. The colorful tile behind the bar was a focal point, the tiling looks like fish scales and it is something to stare at. Now, the hostess was...kind and routes us to where we needed to go, we were sat promptly and drink orders taken swiftly. Our server, Kim, was delightful! Not only very kind and attentive, but she gave great recommendations too. We had the kalamari which was lightly battered, great bite to it and the tzatziki was tasty. We also have the ribeye with the rosemary chimichurri, cooked medium rare, as it should be, and it was amazing! The chef should be locked up, because they absolutely killed it! Amazing flavor, the roasted garlic added such a great additional flavor, and the steak was just butter, not tough at all and genuinely one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. My wife and I had a great experience here, if we’re ever back in town, this is a must.More

The best spot in Vancouver

This truly is a hidden gem, on the second floor and tucked away this restaurant may look like your average stop but it is far from average, to the delicious cocktails, to quick and kind service, to the delightful dishes, this spot will truly blow...you away. Paula is was attentive and so kind, never leaving us with an empty cup or plate and helping walk us through our dining experience. Although it pains me to write this as this may make it hard to get a table, it would be a dis-service to not comment on one of the best meals I’ve ever had.More
