Waited in line for Meat and Bread to open. Definitely worth it. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Staff was very friendly, maybe a little too friendly.

Excellent sandwiches served on a cutting board. Most of the seating is at a big community table. Make sure to go early because they run out of food.

It is what it is! Excellent portions, well presented, great looking crowd and even cooler staff. Menu, space, decorations, staff, speed, value, this place has it all. Great quick eat place.

I really liked the sandwiches here. Tried the corned beef. It was a bit heavy on the mustard but it was good. My boy actually preferred this one. The special of the day with roast beef was also quite delicious. Didn't get to try the other ones. It can get a little messy so get some napkins or wipes.

Casual environment and quickly served food. The menu is pretty straightforward and simple. There were no twists to it. I think the porchetta had a pork and chicken mix and it's the main thing there. The soft pork softens out the whole stiffness of the chicken a bit so it was delicious. I think the daily special is different everyday... More

Meat & Bread has a very simple menu which is quick to decide from and service is also fast. I've been here twice with friends and both times the food was very good.

One of the best places I ate in while in Vancouver. I actually went back 3 times. You have to definitely try the porchetta sandwich and the grilled cheese. Meatball sandwich was pretty good, too. The only downside is that the lines can be too long and they close too early! But eating here is a great experience.

First visited here a few years ago on my last visit to Van, and came back yesterday, and again today. 2 lunches in a row, Meat & Bread cannot disappoint! Such amazing sandwiches, perfect mix of fresh, lightly chewy bread, plenty of delicious meat, and the crunch of the crackling in the porchetta is to die for, and with that... More

Fast food, good atmosphere, small menu. Food a tad spicey for my taste, seating very close together indeed at communal tables. Food preparation in clear sight - I would have liked to see gloves rather than bare hands preparing my food. For a casual, quick lunch worth a try. Meat ball sandwich very generous with the meat balls!

Neighbourhood Profile
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries.
