We were out shopping in the Kits area and asked for a recommendation from our sales person in a nearby shop and she highly recommended this place - especially the Kale salad. We didn't have a reservation but it was only a 15 minute wait so we decided to stick it out and we were sure glad that we did.... More

We went during Dine Out Vancouver and weren't disappointed. The creativity that went into each dish was only outmatched by the service we received. A true culinary experience but try not to lick the plate as it's that good! The Oakwood has turned into our favorite Restaurant in all of Vancouver.

I have heard many great things about this place so we decided to do the dine out menu as a large group. The service was great, the staff was attentive and friendly. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed with the food. It seemed like our food had been prepared for quite awhile before they took it out, but they were... More

We ate here as a large group and during Dine Out Vancouver '17. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. The food menu was exciting and different so it was fun trying something unusual. I had the wine pairing with my meal for an extra $17. Overall I think the meal was good value for money and would go here... More

We went there for brunch last weekend. The only negative was the wait (25 minutes which was exactly the host's estimate) but this was reasonable as it was about 1pm which is pretty prime for brunch so I'm not really complaining. The waiting area was fine for waiting in and the place is obviously a hot spot so and waiting... More

Everything was outstanding. We came with a big party and booked early with Tristan; he was informative and courteous from the get-go. We enjoyed the 39$ tasting menu and we're all still talking about the lamb belly!!!! Definitely arrive hungry, the portions are generous. A new favourite; we'll be back. Thanks again guys!!!

We finally ended up with one of the tables by the fireplace after some confusion with our reservation. A low point of the evening was a five-minute argument with our waitress over ordering the burger. The Maitre d' tried his best to smooth things over, but clearly the staff needs to brush up on their table manners at this establishment.... More

We had a great dinner. I must say that I was impressed before getting there. I made online reservations for the New Years weekend, and I had some questions. I emailed the restaurant and Tristan Young, manager, replied to me promptly and answered all my questions on a couple of occasions, regarding New Years Eve menu, schedule, wine, etc. Excellent... The table was ideal (a banquette by the fire); the service was impeccable (provided by Alyssa); the dishes were prepared with care rarely seen (by Fin, Ale and the other chefs), the negroni cocktails were perfect (each with one enormous ice-cube); and the ambiance was stellar. It was certainly a top-5 meal for me, over a dining career that spans... More

Love the food here and the atmosphere. The prices are reasonable too, I'd say my only issue is getting a table here since the place is so popular. I went for lunch with my family, my wife and daughter, 5 at the time and we had a very enjoyable meal.

Staying in Kitsilano

Neighbourhood Profile
Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
