We were Apollonia in time to take advantage of their happy hour. We shared an appetizer of saganaki and had a bottle of wine from the happy hour menu. There is a substantial mark up on wine prices. With the $10.00 discount during happy hour the prices for the wine are about what we have usually paid at other restaurants. It is a very nice cozy restaurant. Tables were well spaced apart and serving staff all wore masks per covid requirements. The restaurant is going to be closed for a period of time in August for renovations. The service was decent. The food was good and well prepared. The saganaki was a smaller portion than we received a couple of weeks ago at another greek restaurant. We both had the brizola (pork chop) and it was nicely grilled and moist. It was a nice evening but I feel that for other Greek restaurants that we go to provide better value.

We have had dinner but during Corvid we have been ordering pizza just about every Friday night.

We have been to this restaurant a number of times but starting in April 2020 with COVID we ordered a birthday dinner for my wife. Delivered hot and was wonderful. Since that time and just about every Friday night we have been ordering a pizza to pick up. Great pizza.

Excellent Food Takeout

We have been looking for a great Greek restaurant since our favourite Kalamata closed down due to retirement. We've found it!! Easy to call and have takeout ready when you arrive. the food was excellent. I had the prawn and scallop souvlakia and my wife had the roast lamb shoulder. The lamb was melt in your mouth tender and the prawns an scallops were cooked to perfection. This will now be our regular Greek restaurant for sure. They do delivery as well.

Pick somewhere else!!

Disappointing at best. Server behind the bar was so surly - the food was average and the wine was very expensive for a small bottle. Was offered a dessert as it was my birthday and it came complete with candle and was not complimentary as suggested when offered. Would I return? Definitely not, many better places in the area offering superior service at lower prices

I will never go there again

I have gone to this restaurant a few times, but I have been disappointed each time. The pizza isnt as good as Pizza Hut down the road, the rest of their food is fair but nothing special and nowhere near as good as Vassilis in Burnaby. The portions are small and everything is overpriced. The servers are alright, but some of them continued to wear too much strong perfume and colognes even though Ive told them several times that it gives people like me a headache. The only reason I continued to go there is because it is closer than other places on 4th Avenue and Broadway. My girlfriend doesnt want to walk too far to a restaurant if it is freezing out or raining too hard, otherwise I would never have gone there again. I am writing this after getting a headache from my last visit, I wish that I had driven to a different restaurant instead and that is exactly what I will do next time I choose to eat out when the weather is bad.

Disappointed with Apollonia

We ordered and picked up from Apollonia tonight. It wasn't cheap - $110 for a family of four. I walked over, picked it up and brought it home. We discovered there was no tzatziki with our calamari. We phoned them, they admitted it was their mistake, didn't care and said, "Do you want to walk back and get some?" I just thought after the pandemic, in a city with many wonderful restaurants, I was surprised at the lack of customer service. There were many things they could have done to appease us and instead they did nothing.

First time trying this restaurant as I had heard great things. Had a mixed platter delivered and loved it all. Chicken, lamb, salad, lemon potatoes, rice and best calamari. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

The food was good. They were nice in supporting my food needs. I ordered Roast Lamb with rice, potatoes and salad. Very good and tasty. My wife had the Lamb Souvlaki and it also was yummy. The takeout was accurate in packing it up.

We went before Bard on the Beach with friends. My wife had the Lamb Souvlaki with rice and veggies. She just loved the flavor, and taste. The Roast Lamb that I ordered was fabulous, tasty, and yummy. Service was just great and got us out on time for the theater.

Disrespectful Employee- Terrible Customer Service

I’m sad to be writing this review, as Apollonia has been a restaurant my family and I frequent often and have enjoyed visiting for many years. On Saturday, we ordered a meal of two chicken slovakias and asked for the rice to be substituted with a side salad. When we got home, we found that there was no greek salad, we were missing a pita bread, and the garden salad was a disappointing box of lettuce with almost no dressing. These couple issues are small, but we ultimately decided to call Apollonia as we were disappointed and, having been there many times before, we figured they would want to know and that it would be an easy fix. What we received on the phone was a masterclass in how NOT to handle customer support. There was no support to be had. The Apollonia employee, Paulie, was extremely confrontational, rude, dismissive, and abrasive. We were told "that you can’t sub the rice for a garden salad and still get the greek salad" . To be frank, this isn’t a big deal- there was clearly a miscommunication when we ordered and after a few pleasantries I would have expected that to be the end of the call. Instead, I was dumbfounded by how Paulie handled the conversation, spoke to us, and by her overall demeanour. She worked hard at trying to make me feel stupid for calling in, and accused me lying about receiving only one pita. She sarcastically and maliciously asked if I wanted her to go and tell the kitchen about the ‘disappointing' salad. I’ve never been more rudely and disrespectfully spoken to by an establishment before, and I came out of the call extremely frustrated and just a bit heartbroken, as up until now Apollonia had been one of our longtime " favourites " . Now more than ever we need to treat each other with respect and kindness. Apollonia let us down tonight in a big way, and I cannot not support any business that treats the public this way. There are so many businesses that need our support through these uncertain/ difficult times, and my family and I will now be taking our support for local businesses elsewhere. Apollonia, you need to do a much better job in your customer service department.

Close to Granville Island

this is a very cozy restaurant very close to Granville Island which is a key destination for visitors and residents of Vancouver.. we really enjoyed the pizza on this evening visit after strolling around Granville Island..the staff are very friendly and welcoming.. the seating is tight but we enjoyed the atmosphere and pizza experience, which was generous and tasty....

Great food but tight seating

This is a small restaurant so the tables are tight together, and the noise level can be high. Wouldn’t go here for a romantic dinner but good for business. The food is very good; the lamb chops are 3 to a plate and prepared as requested, lemon potatoes are flavorful and the moussaka is heavenly. Too full for dessert but suspect it is very good. The waitstaff are good but overworked so the service level did suffer as the night went on.

I made a reservation at least 2 weeks prior to our 30th wedding anniversary in hopes of getting a decent table. Instead we got stuck between two tables of four and had to hold on to our wine so it didn’t get knocked over by their bums every time someone got up to use the washroom. We shared a Greek salad and asked for pepper as there is none on the table, after waiting a few minutes we gave up and just ate it. She came with the grinder when my husband had two bites left. We then sat for 20 minutes with our dirty dishes in front of us until they finally cleared them. My husband ordered the “Greek Ribs” which was actually one bone in pork chop. I had the roasted lamb which was ok. We sat another 15 minutes until they cleared our dinner plates away. No one came by at all to ask how our meals were or to pour our wine. Horrendous service, mediocre food. I would suggest going elsewhere especially if it’s a special occasion. So upset to have wasted our night there....
