Not only do they have gluten free options on the menu, most of the menu can be adjusted. Some food, such as the divine fish and chips (cooked in duck fat -yum) are native gluten-free. And there is enough for 2, so be assured the portions are generous unless you are from another country where the portions are crazy big.... More

Took the False Creek Ferry over from downtown to Granville Island. We sat outside on an sunny afternoon. Buskers were playing folksy French music outside of A Bread Affair, across from us. I was going to have a glass of cider from Sea Cider however opted for one of their non alcoholic house made sodas instead. I had the grapefruit... More

Beautiful place with a beautiful patio when it's sunny, a little menu... BUT, it's very expensive regarding the plate and the quantity of food served!! I've ordered "meatballs" for 19$, here is the result: 2 poor chips, with 2 meatballs, some feta and dressing... 19$!!!!!!!!! It's too bad because waiters and waitresses are really nice but the food is a... More

Our table on Mother's Day morning was adjacent to the grill where the chef was preparing food. When I commented to the lovely server how much I was appreciating the menu choices she winked at the chef and nodded in his direction as an invitation to express my thoughts to him. I was greeted with a friendly smile by the... More

Arrived in a Sunday during a brunch hour as recommended by a local. We didn't have reservations and our hostess was so kind and squeezed us in which was absolutely appreciated. I would recommend reserving a table just to make sure you have a spot as this place is busy. The maple bacon Caesars are a must. They are incredible!... More

Best gluten free fish and chips around....They almost make great poutine with GF gravy. Service is pretty good and The staff doesn't turn over too often which is a good sign in a high volume place. This place is all about local ingredients> I believe the whole wine list is BC only

My daughter lives close by so made a reservation for brunch on a busy weekend for the whole family, including brand new granddaughter. We had an excellent experience. The reservation was ready right on time and we were well looked after despite the place being very busy. It is a bustling place, but the staff seem to handle it well.... More

Sometimes a bit noisy but this visit was on a weeknight and fairly quiet. The food is excellent and they manage to deal with allergies and such. Service is on the slow side because they seem to make their meals to order (a good thing) but it isn't a great choice if you have a time limit. Love their vegetables.... More

Ordered Beef Shin. Got a half pound of French fries covered in beef gravy, no actual beef to be seen. Appears many entrees have potatoes as their base. Did have a good Canadian Chardonnay, however, which saved this tourist trap from a 1-star rating. Won't return.

We were a group of 8 going to see a play at Granville Island. The time was getting a little tight so we all rushed to pay our bills. Unfortunately, not everyone noticed the 18 percent gratuity automatically added to the bill and nobody was told that this would be added. I think this is a very deceptive practice. And,... More

Staying in Granville Island & Fairview

Neighbourhood Profile
Granville Island & Fairview
One of the favoured neighbourhoods for a day out, Granville Island's packed theatres and art studios, hobby shops and book stores, restaurants and bars, all offer a plethora of activities and entertainment options, leaving no one bored. The highlight of the area is the Fisherman's Wharf, where the seagulls overhead and the smell of the sea invigorate its many visitors, some of who are there to shop the fresh wares at the public market, and others of whom have arrived to take in the eclectic atmosphere. A popular seafood destination, and Vancouver's leading spot for improv and amateur theatre, Granville Island is an indulgent, welcoming entertainment centre in any season or time of day.
