We found this little gem by accident on a long walk on Robson looking for an appetizing meal (we failed to make any reservations in advance of our trip). Just off the main drag we saw a buzzing place with a nice outdoor patio. We...put our name in and walked some more until it was our turn. SO GLAD we accepted the wait (even thou we were hungry!), it was so worth it. Excellent food, terrific server (Brett) with a nice atmosphere...You can tell locals love this place because it was full of them. When we go back to Vancouver (which is terrific) we will be sure to come back to this restaurant...next time we will remember to make reservations in advance:)More

We had a reservation and we sat outside. It is a small patio but lovely. Our waiter was a little snobby/arrogant to begin the evening but he warmed up throughout dinner. This is a small restaurant with limited seating. The inside ambiance was cozy and...the cooking smells were delicious. We wanted pasta and that was why we came to Tavola. We had the arugula salad and olives. We ordered for the table and shared. The pasta was excellent. Many options and the campenelle was definitely our favorite. This was a birthday celebration trip and it did not disappoint!More

Small, neighborhood restaurant. The menu is limited only in the sense that they offer you selections they prepare extremely well! Plates are meant to be shared and you should definitely try items on the fresh sheet! Great service always adds to the experience. Many thanks!

We were staying right next door to Tavola at the Times Square Suites hotel. One of the employees suggested we eat here, and not only did we have one dinner, we ordered out a second night. We sat at the bar on a Monday night...and Zach the bartender took good care of us. We ordered the crostini special of the day, which was a wild mushroom preparation, and the pear and gorgonzola crostini. Zach suggested instead of a whole order of each, we order two each if we were going to have a meal as well. They were both wonderful! We then ordered the arugula salad. It was exactly as stated on the menu; arugula, olive oil, lemon, and parmesan. There was a lot of arugula and felt it could have one other type of lettuce with it to cut through the bitterness. The star of the night was the Brick Chicken with roasted garlic au jus. We usually never order chicken out, but read so much about how good it was. It was so tender and juicy that it was the reason why we ordered it for carryout again the second time. It takes 30 minutes to prepare and they tell you that. Our carryout service was ordered on Saturday at around 8:30pm and the host called to let us know it would be 30 minutes for the chicken. The order was ready at exactly when he said. This time we ordered the special crostinis with zucchini and fresh corn and they were equally as delicious as the others we ordered at the beginning of the week. I highly recommend this place, especially if you are staying right next door.More

Craving some pasta and wine, so we dropped by without a reservation. Good sized restaurant with kinda retro decor. They have an outdoor patio connected to the restaurant as well as one built out in the street. We decided on the patio. Has some cocktails...and ordered some pastas. Both were very well executed, great flavours. Wine by the glass selection was small but good. Enjoyed our meal, the staff were very friendly and attentive. Locals and tourists mixed together in a very west end vibe.More

We were at Tavola at fireworks night. We had reservations, so we disillusioned have a problem getting a table, but the restaurant is quite small, I recommend to get reservations in advance. The food is really delicious. We shared the burrata and olives as apps....I had shrimp linguine (featured dish) and my husband had rigatoni. Both dishes were amazing. Service was great too and prices are reasonable.More

Exceptional Italian food. Try the half sized pasta portions if you want to get through everything on the menu. Crostinis and brick chicken went down well with the kids.

Had an awesome dinner here. The restaurant patio was comfy and gave a great view of the neighbourhood happenings. The crostini were delicious (they're happy to adjust the number (3) if it would work better for your party). Absolutely loved the mushroom/pancetta pasta - the...best pasta I've had in a very long time. Daily specials, local beers on tap, friendly/efficient service. Looking forward to a return visit!More

I used to like this place now I hate it. Food average at best and the man at the door was appalling. Stood and glared at us for a while then spit out, "what do you want". I said dinner and he stood for a...while more giving us death stares then announced he would find us a table because "they didn't show up". I have no doubt he would have refused us service otherwise. The waitress was nice and the food was fine but on the way out that man treated us again like sub-humans. I will not return here. Rude in and rude out. Don't waste your time or money here.More

We could smell the beautiful food from our hotel and thought lets try it out. So glad we did as our food was top notch. Our waitress was awesome and really couldn’t do enough for us. I would recommend a choice of crostinis to start...and then any of the spaghetti dishes and honestly best i have tasted for many years. There was a vibe within this very popular restaurant which just made the experience even better. If your are near Denman or stopping in the wonderful Times Square Suites then try this place out you wont regret itMore

Small, quaint, luckily a local took us or we would never have noticed it. Easy atmosphere, laid back attitude from the staff, very relaxing climate all around. Decent wine menu, lots of cool drinks. Good dinner selection, really good appetizers, listen to what the staff...recommend ! They know !! Our group of five tried and shared five meals after a few apps. Everything was really tasty, vibrant and fun. We shared a wonderful meal, and had a really nice evening.More
