Nice place, food was tasty, and service was good. Don't let the stairs keep you away. Prices in line with similar places.

I have been here many times, and the momos are really tasty. You can ask for them just steamed or fried. Either is great. The menu is varied and it works for vegans. Best to share with friends so you can get a taste of some of the varied options. There is a small outdoor patio in the back as... More

We stopped by on a Monday around 745pm and it was only us. Weekdays I was told may be slower but their weekends are busy. We tried their "Works", both vegetarian and meat options which includes daal, rice, roti, salad, and kheer for dessert.  The food was very good and we left comfortably full and satisfied with the variety as... Excellent experience for a first time eating the Himalayan cuisine. Great service and great choice of food. Only regret is the "Mustang" beer from Nepal wasn't available when I came for dinner. Will come back again.

We traveled from to Vancouver for the Easter long weekend and Gurkha came highly recommended by our friends. The place was very busy since not many restaurants were open on easter sunday. We waited 15-20 minutes for a table and the server was very efficient and quick on his feet. He recommended the chicken jhol momo which were absolutely delicious,... More

This was an enjoyable experience. Our hostess, who was also our waitress, served us in a timely manner, and explained each of the dishes we asked about. My wife and I shared an appetizer, and I had a bowl of soup to start off. The entrees arrived just as the appetizers were being finished... great timing. The soup, (I had... More

Six of us walked in off the street with no reservations. The food was delicious and the service was great. We all ordered something different so we could do the share around. This was helped with the addition of a few extra side plates. All in we had a great evening.

We had a group of 12. Every single dish was either tasteless or else watered down. Those of us who booked this place were embarrassed for our guests. This was an incredibly unpleasant experience.

Staying in Davie Village

Neighbourhood Profile
Davie Village
Davie Village is the vital LGBTQ heart of Vancouver. It is the only like area in the world to have a permanent four-way rainbow crosswalk, to symbolise the city's solidarity with many of the businesses, ranging from bars to bookstores, that keep the area vibrant. By day, it is a people-watching stop, with fantastic boutique cafes, but at night is when it really shines, humming with neon lights and nightclub music inside many of the hip and trendy bars and dance halls. The area is diverse and welcoming, and its supportive community makes for a tight-knit group of independent and creative shops.
