Wonderful service from the staff. Incredible food. Great view of False Creek at night. Watched BC Place and the Science Building light up. Olympic Village was underwhelming, but this place made it all the better.

Stunning day to get on the patio for lunch (although the yellow umbrella wreaked havoc on photos). We had some of humboldt squid to start which was very well seasoned and crispy while juicy. Really enjoyed it! I was interested to try their pb&j burger…...because who doesn’t like pb&j? Loved that the chipotle peanut butter was oozing out the side! It had bacon jam but I tasted more peanut butter. The angus beef patty was cooked and I liked the meat to bun ratio. A very solid burger that I’d order again. I also decided to get their truffle waffle fries which were very tasty. The garlic aioli was very garlic-forward so don’t plan on kissing anyone after having this!More

They had 4 empty tables, 2 were sunny with view, but they sat us in the cold dark table at the back. When we asked to move, both waiters made no effort to accommodate. Waiter 1: I asked the manager, those other tables are reserved....Me: We also made a reservation, and we are here first. You have 2 perfectly sunny tables. Why can't we sit there? Waiter 1: I don't know. If you see the guy with a tie, you can ask him yourself. We asked the waiter who served our table: Waiter 2: I don't know, maybe they asked to be in the sun? Me: So if we didn't specify to be in the sun when we made reservation, you give us the worst table you have? Waiter 2: Oh I don't know, we have over 200 people on the wait list. Me: We made the reservation, and we are here. You have 4 empty tables. We are the first to arrive. Wait 2: I don't know. That's just what I'm told. I'm new here. Seriously??? Having lived in Vancouver for almost 15 years, racism never crossed my mind. But today, facing the unaccommodating waiters who sat us in the worst spots, I wondered if this unequal treatment related to my race. I should note that each table was the same size. Each sat 4.More

The Tap & Barrel today rolled out its Dine Out Menus, available for a month from February 5 to March 7, also listed on its website. Its always enthusiastic & very friendly staff are excited by the various Dine Out menus, which range through Brunch,...Lunch & Dinner, & this year for the first time it will include a Kids Dine Out menu at the competitive price of 15$ for three courses. It also offers for takeout. I have enjoyed all my visits to this eatery, located as it is in Olympic Village, overlooking the water, & a close, scenic walk from Science World. It also has a great patio. Its location is great, its service superb, the food well prepared & the menus wide ranging. It also offers 24 craft beers on tap, as well as wine & cocktails. I was first introduced to it by my son & his family of four. It was my birthday & I was being treated to a surprise performance at Cirque de Soleil. We strolled along the waters edge to this nicely located eatery & sprinted back, as we had so enjoyed the T&B experience we had lingered longer than we should have. It was a happy hour, which is offered every day from 3 to 6 pm & then again from 9 pm to closing at 11pm. It opens at 11 am. I had the steak frites then & have returned again & again on my own for the same dish. At 20$ it offers good value and it is delicious. My family were also happy with their choices. The service was great then & now. The dine out menu is 22$ for brunch; lunch & dinner are 35$. All three menus have a nice range of dishes. I have my eye on the lobster & truffle Mac & Cheese, which is an additional 8$ on the multi-course Dine Out lunch & dinner menu of 35$. It is sure to be well prepared & served & staff are singing praise already. Posted by S FullerMore

The overall place is very smart, and it’s a nice place to have a drink outside. I was just disappointing as I think the food was way overpriced. I ordered a sandwich and it was very small and barely any fries and it cost me...$17 plus tax. It’s a shame as could be a good place if it made the food better. Probably won’t return because of thisMore

Adjacent underground parking with an elevator is a plus! Professional & attentive staff! Protocols in place! All the servers were wearing masks but most of the patrons seemed oblivious to this life saver! We sat inside because the patio was a little too nippy for...the apparel we had chosen for the evening. The Sunday football crowd made the noise level almost intolerable . 🤨 Now I realize why most people chose the patio. 👍🏻 We selected this restaurant because of its proximity to The Arts Club Theatre where we were seeing a play after dinner. Our meals were very tasty and the scenery is lovely! Very diversified selection of wine & beer. It’s a great place for tourists.More

Meeting friends for lunch at a restaurant for the first time since self isolation during Covid, should have been a fun time. We chose Tap and Barrel for its beautiful view on the patio and I made Patio reservations for the three of us the...previous week. When we arrived we were seated in a shady spot next to several sunny empty tables. All three of us were quite cold and we asked politely to be moved to one of the empty tables In the sun (before food arrived!). We were told that other patrons waiting downstairs in a line up (no reservations) wanted to sit in the sun also and we could not be moved now. We were told that unless we had requested a sunny table while making our reservations previously (There were of course no options for preferential warm seating on the website when making reservations), we had to stick it out in our chilly spot. The heat lamps were also not turned on for us. Two of the sunny tables were empty for over half an hour while we had our lunch. The manager came by again to tell us that because of Covid, they had to be extra careful so did not want to move people. In the meantime we observed several tables being cleaned and it did not seem like a lengthy or complicated procedure as it consisted of less than a 30 seconds spritz of the tabletop only. Items like Coffee creamer were served to be shared by guests. Our food was nice but we were cold and put off by the rude service to fully enjoy it. I understand that staff may be stressed under current circumstances (and our main server was very polite) but perhaps you could change or add some of your protocols with your managers to make it more enjoyable for your guests.More

My girlfriend took me for a snack and drinks on a nice sunny day. We sat on the patio that faces False Creek and Science World. It was beautiful. We ordered some drinks and a snack of calamari. The service was excellent and the servers...were following Covid-19 protocol with masks and gloves. The drinks were great. The calamari was really nice with lightly battered squid and peppers. I was impressed with the QR code for ordering over my iPhone instead of handling physical menus. Very smart. I look forward to more time on this patio this summer.More
