What a fabulous night! The food was amazingly fresh and delicious and the staff are so welcoming. Try and be early because it's always busy, which is a good sign!!

My husband and I joined my brother and his family for dinner and had outstanding food and service at Via Tevere. The wait staff were attentive and really friendly and the pizza was fantastic!!! Best we've had... EVER. We shared 3 salads (the arugula with deep-fried pancetta; green salad; and the caprese) and two different pizzas (a red sauce and... More

the title says it all. seriously! first off, no reservations, just show up and wait in line, OR show up at 4:30-5 before doors open. then order pizza. anything. its all PERFECT. this is the freshest, most perfect Italian Napoli style pizza you'll ever have that's NOT in Italy! do yourself a favor and go frequently.

My wife had a hankering for a pizza similar to what we had enjoyed in Italy during our vacation in the summer of 2016. She did the research and decided this was the spot. The web site said they did not take reservations, and when we got there the were people waiting outside. I let her out and went to... More

We went there for the very first time on Friday Dec 30, arriving about 20 minutes after the doors opened. Lucky! We snagged the last two seats at a lovely little table and the people behind us had a small wait. The lineup was never huge. Since everyone in the restaurant before us had likely just placed their orders, we... More

The two of us came here for good pizza and they delivered. I like the thin crust with minimal toppings. Just like Italy, they serve pizza with minimal toppings and it tasted great. We didn't to wait long for our food. If you want to avoid lineups, you must arrive early. We got here at 5:30 pm on a weekday... More

Via Tevere is an Italian restaurant with classic Italian fare, tucked away in a local neighbourhood. The salads, meatballs, and the thin crust Neapolitan pizza, made with the freshest ingredients, are all amazing. They don't take reservations and insist on the whole party being there before they seat you, so its best to get there early.

I heard about this place when it opened and just never got around to visiting. Last night was rainy & miserable but we were early so managed to step inside. We we lucky to get a table and the service was very good. We tried the small appetizer plate and truly enjoyed the one called mac & cheese. The big... More

Via tevere is my favorite pizzeria in Vancouver, i go there a lot of time. The pizza is amazing, the quality of ingredient are original Italian. I`m really satisfy with the food but my server yesterday she didn`t make me enjoy my night out as usual. She couldn`t deal with the fact that we ask for a starter before pizza... More

I like the pizza here, I always order a Margerita pie. It honestly reminds me of the pizza in Naples Italy, not identical, but similar. Of course when I say that I know fully well I won't get a Sorbillo's pizza unless I'm at Sorbillo's in Naples! It's a busy place which I find hinders a warm welcome, but I... More

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
