We were staying at Opus and invited friends to visit for dinner. When we arrived, the room wasn't busy, but as it filled up, the service fell apart. The positives- the food tastes great and room wasn't too noisy even when it was full. I had an appetizer of scallops that had tiny medallions of sausage and it was a... More

The highlight of our Dine Out Vancouver weekend was dinner at La Pentola, the Opus Hotel restaurant. They had a special four course menu for Dine Out Vancouver that was one of the best meals we've had (and we're Seattle foodies who've dined at some of the best restaurants in San Francisco, New York, Boston and Tokyo). The standout was... More

Three of us had a fantastic meal here on Jan 31. Our waiter suggested the Alla Famiglia option with a wine pairing, and it was perfect. Each of the five courses was a lovely surprise - beautifully presented and really delicious. It was clear that the chefs had put a lot of thought, artistry and love into preparing the dishes.... I don't live or work downtown but will I gladly go out of my way to eat at La Pentola. I have eaten here several times over the last 18 months and I have never been disappointed with anything that I have eaten there. The pasta is fresh and inspired. Last time I was there it was the first night... More

This restaurant is right next door of Opus Hotel and has a very nice distribution and a huge bar. The atmosphere is quiet, well decorated and doesn't seem to be an Italian family restaurant until you start to eat. I had the Baccala as an appetizer (assaggini) and it was awesome! First time that I have salty sea cod mixed... More

My friend and I wandered Yaletown looking for a place we hadn't tried yet and settled on this restaurant. We were seated promptly. Lots of empty tables. We ordered an eggplant appy which was good. We ordered 2 pastas to share, crab pasta and the butternut squash. The crab pasta was more buttery than anything, it was bland and the... More

We have eaten at this resaturant several times and always enjoyed the food and service up until this visit. Our server did not seem to be appropriately trained for this class of retaurant. The food was fine but the overall experience was not up to par and we left disappointed.

Was with a group of friends and went for the five course with wine pairing. Delicious meal at a very reasonable price. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and a lot of fun.

The food is to die for. Service is slow from the kitchen but the staff is very attentive.Wine list can be intimating, Found prices on the high side for the wine but a wonderful selection. Interesting offering off food, but the special dishes of the chef"s selection go fast. Most locals are probably aware of this. The portions are good.

Thank Peter B

Adam Pegg and Lucais Syme of Vancouver’s award-winning La Quercia restaurant deliver artfully crafted, Northern Italian cuisine at Yaletown’s La Pentola Della Quercia inside OPUS Hotel Vancouver. The Chef-duo’s intense passion for turning the best local ingredients into simple, deliciously executed Northern Italian fare can be shared in a family style or a la carte manner daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night. Artfully crafted handmade pastas and custom “nose to tail” meat and fish are the focus at La Pentola, each carefully prepared in its natural state. The chefs’ philosophy of importing Italian necessities such as olive oil and prosciutto contribute a rich simplicity to each dish.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
