Walk by decision to come here. Friendly service. We tried their tandoori palace thali and more than enough food for two people. Order, pay and then take a seat. Great value.

My son lives close to Tandoori...so if we order in, this place gets chosen more than not. The food is very good...their naan bread is off the charts awesome...the price is reasonable for the good portions you receive...its not fancy but that' not why you...go to Tandoori Palace...i have always found the service excellentMore

I've walked by this place on Commercial many times and decided to give it a shot today. Damn..glad I did! I got the tandoori chicken..it was char roasted to perfection in the tandoor. So moist and flavorful. Its dark and light meat - the white...meat was so tender it could have past for thigh. You get a choice of rice or nan. I got nan, which was freshly baked and lightly drizzled with garlic oil. The meal comes with a small salad and some spicy relishes. They also offer a side of butter chicken sauce to dip the tandoori if you like it. The meal was quite reasonably priced at 12 bucks. Definitely worth it!More

Visiting from out of town and our friends always go here. It was so good! Veggie biryani, channa, aloo gobi, butter chicken, naan and veggie pakora. We ordered and had take away. So yummy and great, friendly service.

The food here is really good. They make great naan bread and other meats in the tendoori oven the have in the kitchen. The place is unpretentious and very small with just a few tables, but the staff was friendly and helped us through our...orders. You order at the counter, pat for the food and take out or eat at the few tables they have. I had the chicken vindallo, my wife the seekh kabab, and the kids chicken tikka masala and the butter chicken. It was all good. The prices are not that inexpensive as of today. See the pictures.More

Our favourite go-to for Indian food. I love their Baingan barta (Eggplant) and biryani. Their dal makhani is also quite delicious. Thanks to Vivek and Fareeda for the amazing food.

The place is small and very basic but the food is so great that it does not matter. The portions are big and it is great to share a couple of dishes with another person. You can always take home what you can not finish....I usually do.More

Palatial, it is not, but tiny Tandoori Palace is huge when it comes to the food. Now, I rarely give an "Excellent" to even some rather fine restaurants, but this austere little place deserves it hands down. The featureless interior with its whitish marbled tiles,...contrasting with small black tables and strange lighting fixtures doesn't seem promising--but don't let that stop you. The menu, written on a chalkboard at the front counter, gives ample choices whatever your food preferences. Vegetarian? No problem--about a third of the menu choices would fit that category. The food was prepared in only a few minutes, served piping hot, and plentiful. It's rare enough that I actually couldn't finish it all. And tasty? Tandoori palace serves the very best saag dishes I have had any time recently. Even their naan is unusually flavourful, and the rice steaming hot and fragrant. Such things often seem to be afterthoughts at most Indian restaurants I have eaten at. Whatever Tandoori Palace lacks in variety (no side dishes, just the main, served with rice or naan), it certainly doesn't lack in quality, flavour, and quantity. This excellent little restaurant is evidently popular with locals, and their main business appears to be take-out. I'm sure no one walks through the door mesmerized buy the slightly shabby awning, the cramped, mausoleum-like interior or the very rudimentary seating (for about 20 total). No, they come for the food, and the friendly guys producing it clearly enjoy the appreciation of this teriffic little no-frills eatery. Well done! You earned a new follower and a well-deserved "Excellent!" I will most definitely be back.More

it's looks. Not much more than a takeout counter with a few small tables. BUT the food was great, the service friendly and the prices reasonable. This is a basic but genuine northern Indian restaurant. Menu is online but in the restaurant itself in posted...on a chalkboard. We had a sharing platter for 2 - 2 bug chunks of lamb curry, a tandoori chicken thigh and leg, a generous mound of a chick pea/cauliflower/pander mixture, mango chutney, tomatoes and onion, a tzatziki type sauce and very long grained basmati rice. All delicious. A highlight though was the huge piece of naan that was hot and chewy. Did I mention that it was huge? We were able to watch the dough being rolled and draped over a homemade pillow and then slapped up against the inside of the tandoori oven. Watched as it browned and then pulled off of the side, beautifully cooked. I could have eaten just the bread with some sauce to soak up, and been quite happy. $21.00 for 2 people. Plus warm and friendly people. A great dinner.More

A Biriyani to compare with the best as far as I'm concerned. Knew this one was gonna be good when saw Vancouver Police eating there.

Ok, don't judge a book by its cover. Does not look like much based on appearances. Just a blink-and-you-miss-it, small hole in the wall type of place on Commercial. Not the tidiest, cleanest, sparkliest palace of a place. But these joints can be like finding...a diamond in the rough. I can sorta overlook dingy if food is really good. Based on reviews here looks like other people have discovered this gem too. This is really tasty authentic Indian "street food". Excellent value for what you get. And owners are helpful at choosing dishes. Curries are very good. Tad oily but rich and flavourful. The Prawn Masala is a fav. Can't go wrong with any dish. Just eat-in and enjoy it hot and fresh. The clay oven (tandoor) naan is warm, soft and most of all large and mmmm so good.More

If you are craving some Indian Tandoori (clay oven) fare like kabobs and naan, and don't have much time, much money or a date to enjoy your meal with...this may be the ideal place to go. I often swing by just to grab a seekh...kebob and naan as a mid-day snack. However, all the order portions are large meal size......so keep that in mind. Aside from the excellent fare coming out of the clay oven, the other curries and dishes are quite decent as well...with more layers of flavor and depth than your average Vancouver Indian restaurant. All this said, this little, hole-in-wall joint may not have the diversity of vegetarian fare that larger Indian restaurants offer. I would suggest this is primarily a place for lovers of BBQ meats..More

The seekh kebab is very good indeed. Tender, perfectly spiced. Naan is soft and warm. Maybe a touch too pricey, but it is filling and I am being a bit picky here. Not much yoghurt is provided, but you'll get more if you ask. The...chutney that comes with is beautiful. The service is efficient. A great experience all roundMore
