The food in this place is to die for! I had the peanut, chilli and lemon grass chicken pho. It very reasonably priced and a big portion, full of flavour!! I want to fly back to Vancouver to just get it! The Vietnamese spring rolls...were also amazing Everyone must try this place!More

Don't let the bright lights and unassuming seating fool you - if great food is what you're after, this place delivers!

We went to 5 Elements hoping to get a good meal at a good price, and we weren't disappointed! We had the chicken satay stir fry, and the curry chicken stirfry. They were ready in great time, and the food was brought piping hot to...our table! Delicious food, I would definitely return to try more from the menu... There was a lot of choice!More

Will definitely have to go back and try more items on their wide selection. We tried the Wonton soup for $4.00. Prices are reasonable, portions are generous. Food very tasty and enjoyable. Give them a try.

A great place for good Vietnamese food! My favourite is the bun bo wei (#14) especially tasty pho! The fresh rolls are delicious! The owners are awesome friendly people. Nice stop while you stroll Commercial Drive.

Who trains staff to mop the floors while one is eating. It was 30 minutes until closing and I guess the guy wanted to leave promptly. But, c'mon! I'm eating...and you're mopping right next to my table. I had the sate pho with beef. Ample,...reasonably priced, and tasty. But, c'mon! Using a wet mop doesn't clean anything. It just spreads whatever's on the floor around in an even manner. Better training and hygiene, please!More

The place is ok in terms of decor but the food is way better than what you might expect. They have also the submarines (food on a baguette) which I will have to try another day. The sizzling hot plate I had was very good....The curry other people asked was kind of different. Too creamy; wird.More

My friend lives in Commercial Drive. There aren't so many Vietnamese restaurants around here and we wanted to try this restaurant after checking some reviews. This restaurant is a cafe style - casual restaurant, and we went to the cashier to order food after we...decided what we wanted. Water is also self-serve style. My friend ordered a regular rare beef Pho noodle and I have ordered Thai Seafood Red Curry Noodle soup and we shared Feel fried Pork Spring rolls. The portion was big! Both of our noodle soup were huge, and we were full even before we started Spring rolls. Regular Pho was great, Seafood Thai Curry Noodles was a bit spicy but tasted great! They got so busy and many people ordered Vietnamese Banh-mi sandwiches to go. I want to order Banh mi next time!! Ambience: 3.5 Taste: 3.5 Service: 3.5 Total: 3.5More

Food was excellent the sizzling hot plate and the spring roll with vermicelli noodle bowl was flavourful and the portion was a good size. The prices are reasonable. The decor is simple but clean. Finding parking can be difficult but try the side streets that's...usually were we find a spot.More
