My husband and I got married at Brix and it was the most incredible venue. The wedding day was absolutely perfect and everything ran so smoothly! We had 75 of our family and closest friends attend and the space fit everyone comfortably for the ceremony and dinner. My family and friends have been raving about everything from the location, food/drinks, and service. It was the best night!
The team at Brix truly helped make our day so special (and took so much of my stress away!!). Jamie and Jennifer were so involved with helping make the organization for the day so smooth and stress free. We can't thank them enough!

We had a family birthday dinner here. It was absolutely fantastic. Can not come up with any negative to say.
The food was delicious. The Wedge Salad.... who orders a wedge salad but I did, and with the lamb bacon - absolutely delicious. The tenderloin and lamb rack were cooked to perfection. Our vegetarian person said the butternut squash soup to start was the best she had ever had.
We shared three desserts and all fantastic - there was some debate over whether the cheesecake panna cotta or Vietnamese coffee creme Brule was better.
Cocktails were good and they made some interesting mocktails for some of us.
Prices reasonable for a nicer restaurant.
Loved it. Will go back and will highly recommend.

Booked for a family get-together before heading off on the next legs of our journey. Accommodating staff and with friendly welcome. Advertised as modern Canadian and included, not surprisingly, a mixture of cuisines. Not sure if everything quite 'fitted together' on the menu, but interesting! I had a lovely piece of well cooked ling cod, with nduja, olives & tomatoes - punchy; and aged cheddar grits - too strong a flavour for my liking and did not complement the delicate taste of the fish unfortunately! My wife had a similar comment where the sides were competing, rather than complementing, with the main event. All-in-all though, a pleasant evening.

Server was great, but sent back the $46 flatiron steak I ordered as it was well over cooked. About 5 minutes later the he manager (Who was dressed over casual in runners) came back with my plate and said "our headchef says this is medium rare you are in poor lighting". "We can make you another place but this is medium rare". I very rarely send back food but at $46 I did, NEVER ever have I had the plate come back to me questioning my complaint. The four other I was with were dumbfounded . . . . I will NEVER go back there.

Hi Lori, I am sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations the other night. All restaurants have difficulties with flat light on patio spaces and red meat. Everything looks grey outdoors in the evening with no direct sunlight. We have shone flashlights for guests in the past but some found this offensive. We have walked guests inside to see their beef under incandescent lighting. We have asked guests to take a photo of their steak and look at the resulting image to see the temperature better. In the end, many people feel that we are calling them out on a lie or we are telling them they are ignorant. There is no perfect answer here. I spoke with a contemporary at the Keg and he said it is a huge challenge for them as well with no magic solution. I also spoke to management at Elisa, a top notch steakhouse on our block, and they said the same thing. I can assure you that the last thing we EVER want to do is offend anyone. Please email me at david@brixandmortar.ca and hopefully we can convince you to please give us another chance. Thanks!

Booked a table for 7 in person on the phone. Don't take online for +6 persons. Seated undercover outside which was nice as they had heaters. We all ordered various drinks and food, and it all came in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the chicken was raw on one dish and the waiter forgot many of the things we ordered. They did comp the replacement for the chicken which was nice. They had very good Happy Hour specials on food and drinks. The waiter was very friendly albeit forgetful and he comped a whole round of drinks which was nice. He tried to split the bill but the 20% service charge was added twice. Bit of confusion there on check out. Would return and recommend the tempura shrimp and kale salad.

Mediocre food, mediocre service, mediocre manager.
Would not recommend this place, do not bother. It was our mistake to try this cafe.
It's a lot of great dining establishments along the Hamilton street where people know what they're doing and know what is customer service is.

It's that time of year --- all of the salmon is fresh and wild caught, and at Brix & Mortar, perfectly cooked and presented. Delicious!
We started by splitting a Wedge Salad, and two glasses of Spearhead Pinot Noir (from the Okanagan Region I believe). That led to our splitting a hefty portion of sockeye salmon that was so, so good, We added an order of Grilled Focaccia (a bit pricey at $16) which was quite good as well.
Kudos to our server Nina who made the evening really special. Can't wait to go back to this wonderful location in Yaletown.

I used to come here many times with a girlfriend or company Christmas parties but last maybe 20 years ago. I remember their Homer st. courtyard to be so beautiful I had to come back to visit on Valentine's day and booked 2 months in advance èto make sure to be seated there. Just as pretty as I remembered. There are overhead heat lamps to keep you warm. This evening they had a wonderful 3 course set menu offering. We had their buffalo mozzarella salad / prawn cocktail, halibut over succotash and finished off with white chocolate cheesecake and dark chocolate pot du creme caramel. The restaurant is 2 levels and also has patio seating on the Mainland Street side too. Excellent, friendly service and one of the owners dropped by to check on guests as well. We're going to be back shortly to listen to their live music on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Do not go here if you do not like garlic. I had a salad for dinner because most entrees had garlic marinades. I had the option of salmon hash or flank steak. Neither appealed to me. Garlic is a great masquerade for any dish and a great masquerade for any chef

Hi Phillip. You informed your server that you had a garlic allergy. We take allergies, as one would hope, very seriously. We always try to accommodate our guests with allergies and intolerances the very best we can. In many French and Mediterranean inspired dishes there is garlic and onions. This is not a masquerade, it is technique, from recipes steeped in tradition and history. These are not marinades necessarily. They are steps in layering flavours. We are sorry that we were not able to make you happy. Here's a tip for the next time you go out for dinner: don't try to order Caesar salad with no garlic. You're going to get a plate full of plain lettuce.

We visited Brix on a recommendation for drinks during Happy Hour. They have a good choice of drinks and food on the Happy Hour menu. After seeing the main menu we decided to have a starter each (Chicken & Scallops). They were both excellent, as were the drinks we had.
The staff were very welcoming, helpful & friendly.
We are in Vancouver for another few weeks, so we’ll definitely revisit 👍

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Brix and Mortar, and had a fantastic experience. The Brix team was incredibly responsive, kind, and helpful in terms of handling my requests and endless questions. They truly did everything they could to successfully make our wedding dreams come true. The staff at the wedding were also incredible - kind, responsive, and fun! We recieved many compliments about Brix's food, staff, and atmosphere. We highly recommend them for anyone looking to host a modest-sized wedding. Thank you, Brix!

I almost don't want to provide a review for this one. Now that I've "found it" again, I don't want to share this very special gem. Realizing how lucky we are as Vancouverites to be able to do this right now, my date and I wrangled up the last 2 chairs in what turned out to be a magical little courtyard oasis. Brix has a stunning and diverse menu but we were only after a cocktail and light bite - the entire team, from Host to Server to the Proprietor himself stopping by to check on us, treated us like VIPs. I've identified a menu item I can't wait to try and can already report that the fried cauliflower salad is complex, delicious and will be my starter next time. The setting, the team, the artfully created cocktails, upgraded the already great night we were having to pure Magic.

We picked this restaurant based upon its rating, and it deserves that rating. We were given seating options and chose an inside table by a window that opened to a patio. Our server was delightful and attentive. We both ordered seafood dishes which were delicious. Nice wine list. Nice dessert. Highly recommend.

We hosted a large group in the upstairs dining room. The food was exceptional and well served.
The extra effort to produce a custom menu with our branding was appreciated and the presentation of the venue would make it a must do again.

Brix caught my eye on my first trip to Yaletown 2 years ago with two out door patios and an incredible back bar, I was really excited to try it - spoiler alert- It is exceptional. On my most recent visit I had scallops with duck fried risotto and a braised short rib special. Their food seems to always mix classic elegance with wonderful flavour combinations!
Their servers exceeded expectation and were very knowledgable helping me pick cocktails to my preference (boozy and not sweet) and pairing wine perfectly with my meals.
I can't speak highly enough of my experiences in this restaurant.
