Whenever I try a new Indian restaurant I order the Malai Kofta. For me that's the bellwether for the rest of the menu. Ginger Garlic's kofta are some of the best I've had! They do not skimp on the ingredients like some places. Also try the tandoori roti, very authentic, they use the best flour and you can tell.

I do enjoy this restaurant! I don't go as often as I used to because of a new diet, but they do make wonderful curries here. The staff are attentive and they have jira rice which is always nice. I've tried the other places up on Davie and this one is by far my fav. Also, the panner is very... More

We could smell the spices out on the street and went in for dinner. Great food and really spicy! The prices were very low compared to the quality of the food. Can only recommend this place.

Attracted from the good smell from the kitchen we decided to try the Ginger Garlic restaurant. The service was great as well as the food. Spot on spicy, and not western oriented spiced. The big portions mad it a bargain price.

Restaurant is very conveniently located on the heart of the English bay beach right on Davie street; parking is a little tricky but few spots are available in the parking garage in the back alley. Once you dig down, the choice of food is fairly decent and the price is slightly expensive (~$15 an entré). Food taste is pretty good... More

Was downtown for the festival of lights and stumbled upon this place for my pre game fireworks meal. The butter chicken was amazing, where I had to order more. Highly recommend

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
