We were recommended this restaurant by a friend from London who had just visited. Luckily I had booked in advance because even at 6pm they were fully booked but rather than turn anyone away they were directing people to the bar (same menu available) or oyster bar. Our waitress was amazing & especially patient with my 2 jet lagged kids - happy to accommodate request of changing mussels dish from curry cream sauce to more traditional white wine & garlic. Could not fault service or food - great atmosphere. Highly recommend

We had our Thanksgiving dinner here and as always it was delicious. It is one of our favourite places to eat in vancouver. Wonderful ambience perched out on the waters edge. Great service from friendly staff and absolutely delicious food. A Negroni to wet the appetite then bread to start followed by the 10oz pork chop with an apricot anise semi glacé and market veg and the Grilled Steelhead Salmon, wok fried rice, seasonal veg and lemon caper butter sauce. Yummy. We both had Pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Wonderful evening. THANK YOU Caderos.

We took a chance on a Monday night and didn't make a reservation which was a mistake. The place was rocking. Fortunately the maitre de found us a table for 2 (would have been no chance with a four) and after looking at the menu we had made our choices before our waitress Katy told us her recommendations. So we changed and went with that. Without doubt one of the best meals I have had in a very long time.
I don't know if the bouillabaisse is on the menu all the time but it was magnificent. Full of seafood and flavoured beautifully a complete taste sensation in a bowl. Wife had Arctic char on risotto and raved about the meal. Nice wine list as well.
A busy restaurant with attentive staff who know their stuff, you only had to watch them in action - accompanied with a great meal. Pretty sure the owner was out on the floor as well. 10/10.

I have been meaning to try out Cardero’s for a while now and Dine Out Vancouver seemed to be the perfect opportunity. We made reservations easily through their website and was asked to confirm the reservation via text message. It’s a great service they offer.
This year, their dine out menu was $35 with two optional entrees that were $10 additional.
For starters, we got the Prawn Ceviche which was well balanced and had great flavour. The one critic I would have is that they didn’t chop the ingredients fine enough such that it wasn’t scoop-able with the toasted chip. I’ve had ceviche at other restaurants before and I’ve never had a full unchopped basil leaf in it. I would give this dish a 7/10.
For my entree, I went with the Grilled Arctic Char which is included in the 35$ menu. My partner went with the Bouillabaisse which is an additional $10 to the Dine Out Vancouver set menu.
The Arctic Char was moist and not overly dry, the pea tendrils on top were a nice touch as well and added an additional level to each bite. I didn’t quite enjoy the Arctic Char over a bed of corn; it seemed very homemade and made this less restaurant quality. The fish was also a bit bland and lacked seafood flavour. I would give this dish 7/10.
My partner enjoy his bouillabaisse, it had ample seafood and was worth the value. Our server also provided us with some bread to soak up the yummy broth. We would give this dish an 8/10.
For dessert, we got one of each of the options: Passionfruit Panna Cotta and the Salted Caramel and Chocolate Mousse Cake. Both desserts were very delicious; while the serving size for the panna cotta was fairly small. Overall, the desserts would be 9/10 for both.
The service was quick and attentive, our server was friendly kept checking back on us. If you get a window seat, the view is very nice as it looks north towards the mountains.
Overall, a nice dinner experience here; however small elements lacking in the food prevents me from rushing back here for my next night out.

This large, cavernous restaurant is popular because of its wonderful location on the water. But its high ceilings and large area mean it’s also noisy – and can feel a little cold in the middle of a winter day (we came here for lunch). While this place is all about the seafood, there is also a sizeable selection of burgers and steaks as well as meat options for the pizzas and pastas – as well as gluten free and vegetarian options throughout the large but not overwhelming menu. I also like that they have inventive bowls and sizzling items from “the wok.” I had the Budda Bowl, which is loaded with pure goodness: roasted cauliflower, broccolini, kale, avocado, hummus, yams and a sprinkle of quinoa. My friend chose a more traditional option – the Caesar salad with chicken as an add-on (other add-ons are prawns, scallops, salmon and albacore tuna). We shared a big order of tasty truffle fries. The food is tasty and our server was very good – attentive and friendly but not overbearing. It would be a much more pleasant experience on a sunny day, sitting on the water-front patio!

Though the pandemic has caused significant challenges in choosing fine restaurants to engage with your friends and family, Cardero’s has not only kicked it up a notch but they’ve raised the bar to a level all restaurants should aspire to. Joined my good friend for a fun lunch and happy to say that not only do they respect and support social distancing but they do it in a manner that creates a fun and engaging atmosphere. Carderos has also expanded their menu options to include items such as fish and chips, Vietnamese chicken wings and corn elotes. All were absolutely delicious and happy to say our service was second to none complements of Daniel and Mike. We were surprised by a visit from chef Jason Who came by to see how we felt about the new menu as we chose. Very professional, customer centric and fun guy not to mention an awesome chef!
For those of you reading my ongoing reviews, I urge you to simply try Cardero‘s as I know you will be absolutely thrilled with not only the quality of food, service but the ambiance they are projecting join these difficult times.

Happened upon Cardero’s while strolling along the marina with wife and kid. The hostess let us sit at barstools to enjoy happy hour as the pub is off limits to those underage. Open kitchen concept and though our view was a little obstructed it was still a good experience. House red is a blend that was quite nice on a rainy Vancouver day, meatball sliders were surprisingly enjoyably spicy and the cheese pizza satisfied the little guy. Though I wouldn’t recommend happy hour in general if you have kids in tow. The dining room does allow kids but we were only there for a quick snack and drink. The staff was more than accommodating and friendly even though serving happy hour from the barstools was clearly not the norm. Next time we’ll have to go as adults only and get the full experience with the view.

Came for a work dinner, our party was 6 people. The food was very good but the overall experience was nothing special. Our server seemed disinterested and actually left the table without taking the 6th person’s dinner order. We started with four appetizers. The oysters and meatball stood out. For main, I went with the sablefish and it was fantastic. We skipped dessert given the company, but the Duckhorn with dinner did the job perfectly.
I would probably come again but it wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my list. I’d prefer somewhere quieter and with a better ambiance. If I’m comparing the food and feel at Carderos with Fortes, I’d probably go with the latter 9 times out of 10.

Great atmosphere and brilliant food! Very cozy with a great view. Had steak and lobster and was very very good. Big portion and the steak literally could be cut with a dull butter knife. I won't comment on the pricing since I knew it was going to be pricey and didn't care.

We enjoyed our visit. Staff was just awesome especially our waiter. One cocktail was sent back and was quickly replaced with no fuss. The waiter suggested the dumplings and calamari for appetizers and we were glad we followed his advice. The dumplings were divine! Of all our meals, 2 had sablefish, one had salmon and one had halibut only the halibut was a bit below par - dry slightly overcooked. The other plates of fish, veggies, and rice were overall good but no real wow factor. And because we sat inside (not being able to snag a patio table) and were so engaged with each other, one really didn't enjoy the water view. So great family place but for the actual food you can find better food in a less touristy location. Wait staff were amazing!

We really enjoyed our lunch in this coal harbor restaurant which is an upscale area which is a bit touristy too. The prices clearly reflect that. The ambiance is pretty warm and casual with beautiful water views. The food is pretty good especially the sable fish which melts in your mouth. The Buddha bowl is also quite delectable. Our server Casey provided excellent service and made for a really wonderful dining experience. The entrees are pretty expensive at 35 - 45 CAD on the average but if you can afford it then this place is worth the splurge. We are very healthy eaters so this place is more of an indulgence than regular go to spot. Although this is not our usual "healthy" place, we were still able to find some "healthy-ish" options so I would still be back here and would recommend this place to pretty much anyone who enjoys good food.

We've been here a couple of times and I think that having a window seat adds to experience and we didn't have one this time. Thanks to Covid (I'm kidding) the seats are spread apart which I appreciate but the ambience was not as good being in the middle of the restaurant this time. Our server was great and tried, along with the manager who tried to remedy the very bland, ketchup-like seafood sauce but even the food was average this time. I had the halibut and it was good but not as outstanding as last year. My daughter loved her bolognese, she said was very good, and my husband had the sweet and sour chicken!! Funnily enough he enjoyed it. The service was good and the drinks nice. We will return but not as excitedly as previously...I know off nights can definitely happen.

I have never yet taken the time to write a bad review about any business but this has been my absolute worst experience with a restaurant ever.
I ordered a medium rare steak, it came out well done. Sent it back, and it came back rare, looked grey in colour, no grill marks and tasted so bad that I actually spit out my food.... and I don’t think I’ve done that since I was the age of two.
The manager covered my meal, but in my opinion the whole experience should have been covered.
On top of that, our server would refer to me as “bud” or “buddy”.. very unprofessional.

A great spot for a light meal and great views. Superb location for a walk after your meal. They have a menu with a food choice for everyone. Outside patio available
Set up during Covid-19 - I love that this restaurant is taking it seriously. Tables well spaced out, hand sanitizers available for use, staff wearing masks 👍
Service 5/5
Food 5/5
Overall 5/5
I love this spot

Headed into the restaurant close to closing and we’re seated quickly. We ordered the Caesar salad which was fantastic and the Manhattan clam chowder which was good but not what we expected, was looking for traditional clam chowder. Would recommend for a quick bite and the patio looked great if space is available.
Staff was really good and they had the best masks - clear guards and we felt it made talking back and forth easier.
