Great food. Excellent crab cake. My scallops were perfectly cooked and the accompanying risotto was delicious. My husband really enjoyed his lobster carbonara. Unfortunately the service did not meet the same standard. Our waiter was abrupt and uninterested. When my main course arrived, I had a question about something but the waiter didn't show up to ask about our food until we were 3/4s of the way through eating. What could have been an exceptional meal became an uninspiring evening, albeit with really good food. Because the food was so great, we did wander by a few days later, thinking we might try out their happy hour menu. Unfortunately, this time we didn't even make it into the restaurant. As we went to look at their outdoor posted menu, the hostess came rushing over, not saying anything ("Can I help you?") but instead practically brushing up against me and breathing over my shoulder as we tried to review the menu. After the previous service experience we quickly decided that we didn't want to give them another chance. A shame, since I really would have liked to try some of the items on that menu.

We had a really wonderful evening at Coast restaurant recently, thanks to the recommendation of our hotel concierge at the Pinnacle hotel, and to the wonderful wait service provided by Sallie. First of all, my husband looked at the menu and found that what he wanted was not on the menu. He mentioned this to Sallie, who asked what it was he had been hoping to find. It was lobster tail in some form. Sallie said that she would see if it was possible and came back saying that the chef could do it and gave a price. My husband was delighted. We shared a starter of beef carpaccio, which was delicious and ample for two. For the main, I had wonderful panfried halibut, which was cooked perfectly, and my husband enjoyed his lobster tail. For dessert we shared the chocolate lava cake…which was sinful and divine! Throughout Sallie was attentive and helpful and we could not have wished for a better wait person! We can highly recommend this restaurant, and were so glad that our concierge had told us about it.

Great service, good value, delicious food! Came for happy hour $9 martini and $1.50 per fresh oyster on the half shell then had the “big catch” Sunday special seafood and was simply blown away if how much and how delicious it was. Great price too!

For our final meal in Vancouver we chose Coast. We sat in the heated covered patio area (it was raining!) We had wedge salad (with prawn and egg), very nice. The fish and chip cone (rice rather than chips) which were delicious. Parmesan truffle fries and the jumbo prawns - we asked for an even number of prawns as we were sharing and paid ex, to receive 5! The chef couldn’t count but luckily we didn’t fight for it! As it was happy hour we had a couple of G&Ts followed by a glass of local Cabernet Sauvignon which was very nice. Our server Tyler was very friendly. There is a circular bar inside (around the fish counter) which looks very nice.

We were excited to go to Coast. Very nice upscale atmosphere. BUT. I ordered the lobster and prawns pasta dish. Was very dissatisfied the half mini lobster tail was about 1 to 1.5 ounces of lobster and there were 4 small shrimp. I asked where the prawns were and the waiter could not answer so he called manager. She agreed they were not prawns and brought 2 larger cold shrimp not prawns to make up. The pasta sauce was like paste and the pasta clumped up. For the $46.00 charge it was not to tasty and they skimped on the shell fish that was promised. A definite miss for me and they hopefully will read this review and make the proper adjustments.

We had the Lobster 3 course special on a Monday dinner. All courses were good but we especially enjoyed the Lobster Thermidor. The Chardonnay was chilled and delicious. The next day on the advice of our server Sallie, we returned for the Happy hour oysters, sashimi sushi and fish cones and washed down with rose which was very nice for a house wine

Place has the same ill as many ‘good’ Canadian restaurants - great service and well presented food that just doenst taste as good as it looked. Sushi was fairly flavourless and halibut special was pretty but fairly bland, subtle bit not amazing. The highlight was to coconut desert which was moist rock and tasty - expensive for what it is. From the moment we walked in the door to our departure the best word to describe our experience was exceptional. The occasion was for friends getting together to celebrate a birthday. The service staff went out of their way to set up a table arrangement to accommodate our party, acknowledge the birthday event and celebrate it with complimentary cake with a candle at the end of the meal. Sean our server was professional, friendly and paid attention to all the small details that made the brunch feel special. The three different mimosas sampled were chilled and flavorful. Each guest had a different menu choice. The English breakfast special, chowder and eggs Benedict’s were fresh, full of flavour and well presented. When you experience excellent food with great service, you know you will coming back.

I'd like to rename this restaurant COASTING. It was my friend's birthday and I wanted to take her to somewhere extraordinary. She loves this place from past visits, it was my first time. We sat outside and the decor was bleak, not a plant or flower in sight. We ordered drinks and the seafood tower - I had the lobster bisque as a starter. The soup was burnt tasting and there was very little of it, to the tune of $20+. The tower was impressive looking until we noticed several very long strands of jet black hair perfectly strewn across the top layer over the scallops, as if it had been placed there as a finish. The waiter was efficient enough but seemed barely interested in us to the point where I didn't want to engage in a discussion about this, so regrettably I now realize, I said nothing. It was also a celebration and I didn't want to cause a fuss. I noticed on the way to the restroom the meals lined up for delivery all had toxic paper printouts laying directly on the hot food. The restrooms were disgusting with paper towels and urine all over the floor. The bill came to $245 with tip. I felt disappointed, angry and ripped off when we left. I had heard great things about this place in the past, but nowadays believe that it's COASTING on its past reputation.

We were seated with the expectation of a lunch menu, not aware that they were only serving a brunch menu on the weekends. This was where the excellent customer service came in. Mohit Kumar, restaurant manager, was like a magician that made our lunch selections appear by having the chefs prepare our special requests! The King salmon with house made lemon ricotta gnocchi, sweet corn & butter squash was prepared to perfection and very delicious. The Cobb salad greens were fresh, topped with double smoked bacon bits. Coast Restaurant is a definite repeat on our next visit to Vancouver.

As my husband is a pretty good cook we find that most times when we eat out we are disappointed and sad that we paid for that but Coast was fantastic. Vinny our server was attentive from the moment we sat down. We were also greeted by several other staff and the manger which was nice to feel appreciated for our business even though the was no empty tables they still took the time say thank you for coming. We were there just before cut off for happy hour so were able take advantage of their great prices on a couple appies and drinks and they were tasty but our mains were fantastic. I had the Jumbo Tiger Prawns with Doba Noodles in a Green Curry (Thai) sauce and i can’t wait to have it again it was so so good Husband had the SableFish and again just a fantastic flavorful dish most definitely would order again. Already planning our next date night to eat here again. highly recommend Sorry no photos as we just didn’t want to stop eating to take it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. We enjoyed an outdoor table on the patio on a warm, pleasant evening. Our waiter, Blaine, was excellent - attentive, knowledgeable and a good sense of humour. We had purchased a 4 course dinner special, and for the most part, it was excellent. We enjoyed warm bread, clam chowder and Caesar salad with shrimp. We had lobster paella as the main course, and that was the only disappointment. The lobster and crab legs were succulent and delicious. The paella itself, including the clams and mussels was over-cooked. Indeed the mussel shells were burnt to the point of disintegration. Desert was fabulous. We would go back but likely choose a different main.

We arrived on Friday around 6:00 with no reservations. Thankfully, they were able to seat us in about 5 minutes. We had sushi, tomato burrata salad, clam chowder and a rib eye steak that was on special. Everything was well-prepared, beautifully presented and delicious. Banana coconut butter cake was a great finale. Our server was Laura B and she was top notch: attentive, intuitive and helped guide our selections when we asked.

We've been coming here 1-3 times a month for over 1 ½ years! The food & service are consistently great. We most often come for brunch: the 🥚 eggs Benny or , my favourite, the fruit topped waffle 🧇 . A special treat is the complimentary small slice of carrot 🥕 cake & mini smoothie ! Tiny treasures but appreciated and makes you feel like a valued customer. 😊 All their menus & special events ( sell outs) are great - the Happy Hour goes beyond the simple " wings & truffle fries" ! The decor is elegant and we appreciate that it's quiet-no loud blaring music to interrupt conversations. The servers have all been wonderful (our first being Ben and then Peter) - our most recent was fairly new : Stephen. The manager Mohit is there to ensure things run smoothly . If you're visiting the city and staying in a downtown hotel-it's probably an easy walk from almost any of them! ( a few steps from the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for example).

This was my first time visiting Coast and the experience truly did not disappoint. Not only is the happy hour incredible, but we also had the best overall experience thanks to Peter. He is so knowledgeable and provides such great recommendations. He also genuinely cares about his customers and goes above and beyond to make the dining experience magical. We will definitely be back soon!
