I have been a few times for drinks and appies and its been fine, they have an amazing collection of whiskey. Brunch is weak though. The eggs benny came cold, on soggy bisquik biscuits. The hollandaise sauce flavour is good but was actually chilly. Sadly the waitstaff doesn't care, Im sure the kitchen doesn't either. Too bad. If they just... More

It was hard not to try on or two whiskeys but we showed restraint and ordered fish tacos and a salad with Brussels sprouts. Both were delicious. And the whiskey menu-book was a good read.

This would be a great dinner and drinks location for a group of people or a casual night out. Service was friendly and efficient. All five of us thought that our meals and appetizers were well above average. While not cheap, I thought the prices were very reasonable considering the high quality of the food. They have a good selection... More

We have been here a 3 or 4 times for breakfast/brunch and have put up with the long wait because the food is pretty good but went again this weekend and ended up walking out before our food came. Waited & waited as usual and then the chef (maybe the owner) came to our table to tell us they had... More

Fet's Kitchen has a couple of different burgers on offer, so Burger Biters decided to check out their Classic Deluxe. The beef patty scored 3/5. It lacked seasoning and was slightly dry with little caramelization on the outside for flavour and crunch, and had the consistency of meat loaf. The ciabatta bun (2.5/5) was lightly toasted on the inside and... More

Had the veggie burger and a Kentucky Mule (Moscow Mule with whiskey instead of vodka). Very tasty (both)and a great simple side salad. The waitress was attentive without being intrusive. Able to get a seat at a table without having to sit at the bar; as a solo diner I hate sitting at the bar as I typically find it... More

Great food, & drink. We had a wonderful dinner just before Christmas. The Whisky ribs were great I highly recommend you give them a try. Great bar with the level of service you expect in Vancouver .

Scotch eggs are amazing. I love the steak dinner, so tender and juicy covered in melting butter, I keep going back every week for it. I just tried the fish and chips for the first time and it is amazing - I wish they had halibut but the batter is so fluffy and crispy-amazing- all seafood is oceanwise. Very good... More

We were a group of 7 for early Saturday evening dinner. The setting is very impressive and the welcome and initial service prompt enough. The food was reasonable, a little unexciting. As we finished eating, we were ignored even though they weren't full - we would have happily ordered another round. A bit pricey too.

Staying in Commercial Drive

Neighbourhood Profile
Commercial Drive
Commercial Drive, also called "The Drive," comprises of twelve sauntering blocks of modest and unfussy counter-culture. Straddling the line between sophisticated and unadorned, it is favoured by students, artists, writers, designers, and start-ups, and suffused throughout with a healthy off-beat counter-culture. The kind of neighbourhood which well-springs thought-revolutions and has the odd bit of self-aware graffiti, Commercial Drive has resisted gentrification in favor of continuing to build a thriving den of affordable multiculturalism. Once known as Vancouver's "Little Italy," it has also been the immigration point for Guatemalans, Hondurans, and Portuguese to the city. The resulting hodgepodge makes for poetry readings in espresso cafes, social debates in early-open bakeries, and eco-activism posters pinned up in the many multi-ethnic markets in the area. Commercial Drive is where you go to feel like a local, and if you have them, bring the kids – The Drive has a number of bookshops, toy stores, and attractions to get them involved too.
