Last minute decision looking for a meal with Southern Europe feel. Walking down 4th Avenue past Vine street on the way to Yew. You can’t miss the Orange Aperol Sprtiz umbrellas. It sets the tone! I walk in without a reservation and server Anna greets us with a great smile and offers us a table inside or outside. Start with a glass of wine and Kalamaria. Follow with Roast lamb or Souvlaki. Enjoyed a great meal at a reasonable price with excellent service. Recommend for couples out for an evening and looking for a great experience that will not destroy their wallet.

Have been here numerous times. Their pizza is the best we have found in Vancouver . Lots of unique choices or build your own. Atmosphere has been great and server excellent. They really have customer service nailed all covid precautions are taken.

Warning do not order takeout from this restaurant!!!! I rarely give reviews, I just don't have the time. I will only give reviews if the service was extremely bad or amazing. Unfortunately this is a really bad review, I wish I could give them a negative rating but unfortunately one star is the lowest rating I could give them. We ordered takeout from them yesterday we ordered five items. When I got to the restaurant to pick it up the order they had only made 4 dishes and of the four items 1 of them was wrong. So technically they screwed up two of the five items. Not a little screw up. The manager Morenos quickly came over and said mistakes happen we will correct this give me "5 minutes" Well I guess in Greece 5 minutes really means closer to 40 minutes. In Canada to myself and all other Canadians 5 minutes means 5 minutes. I waited and I waited and I waited Marino's 5 minutes was actually closer to 40 minutes I'd gone to the restaurant at 6:35 and I left the restaurant at 7:15. I had assumed the manager/owner would give me some sort of discount for waiting or at least one of the dishes on the house. However I was not offered a discount I paid $70 plus dollars for my takeout and it was all cold including the new dish he had made me. Least to say my kids and I were not happy and I had to reheat all of the food and it was very average food at that for a Greek restaurant. I highly recommend you go to Maria's taverna or double D's pizza which is the best around if you want good Greek food or pizza and their service is impeccable and they are super friendly. For the waitress that screwed up the order and got three out of five items incorrect you get an F To Marino the manager/owner who said "give me 5 minutes" which turned into 40 minutes you also get an F. To my wife who put in the order and failed to verify the correct items you get a c- . But at least my wife owned it.

First of all service was very slow. The food was overpriced and tasted mediocre. I am half Greek and I felt ashamed of this place. The Greek salad was a joke, just a bunch cucumbers and tomatoes. The beef was burned and didn’t have any taste. The food I had was like $21 and I could get the same food for $5 from the Greek supermarket.

Am literally sitting at this restaurant writing a review. Came here to kill an hour while I wait for my son. Ordered a glass of wine and an ‘Italian salad’. The wine list is embarrassingly bad. I chose the best of the worst. But what really drove me to leave this review was the salad. Let me start by saying I took one bite and then pushed the plate away when I saw a large human hair right on top. Had that hair not been there, it was still a poor salad. Iceberg lettuce, a couple of slices of tomato, small bits of green pepper and shredded mozzarella doesn’t really scream Italian to me - maybe the shredded mozzarella is the identifier? I don’t know. The menu is very limited and uninspired. Overall it screams of cliche and ownership that doesn’t really care about quality, authenticity or effort.

We have dined at Simpatico for many decades. Remember it as serving basic but decent Greek dishes over the years. However, our most recent dining experience at Simpatico earlier this month was a great disappointment. To start, the Avgolemono soup was watery and bland. The Greek salad provided lots of fresh sliced tomatoes and cucumber but there were only two small pieces of onion and very little dressing. The inedible lamb in the Meat and Bread dish was very tough and chewy. The chicken skewer was OK, but it's almost impossible to ruin such a basic item, anyway. Will seek out other local Greek restaurants around town in the future.

I held a semi-private birthday gathering for family and friends in the back room at Simpatico's in September 2019. The manager was extremely helpful to me in planning the party, and offered a set menu with the choice of 4 entrees (roast lamb, chicken souvlaki, salmon filet or a veggie pasta, + appies of homous and calamari + dips, + 2 greek desserts. He also allowed us to bring a projector to show photos on the wall, and our own birthday cake and balloons. The staff serving and helping us wrap up were very attentive and friendly. Overall it was a great experience and made hosting a birthday party a piece of cake!

Went there with a friend and ordered several plates to try since it was my first time eating Greek food. I did not like it at all. So i just thought it was because i might not like Greek food after all. My friend who loves Greek food said that he didnt like it either.

Remembering to restaurant from decades ago I was really disappointed in the food the last two times, including just this week. There is simply no greek authenticity in the flavours, just bland, taking no risks type .... I had souvlaki dinner and I mentioned the blandness to the waitress including the greek salad .. no deep flavours, red onions nor olives .. waitress said .. yes, there is one (yes, one!) olive in the salad .. gosh .. and it was a tasteless black on on top of it, none of the rich kalamata flavours, similar the hummus and the kalamari .. just bland .. none of that rich flavouring that is so typically Greek .. so .. no more, alas.

We went for lunch with 2 friends. This is our second time. The restaurant is a fair size and both times there were only a few tables that were occupied. A good place for a relaxing and quiet meal. The food is just ok. Mostly Greek and pizza. Fair prices. Big portions. Service was good but we won't be going back anytime soon.

Food was alright, Caesar salad was watery.service wasn’t the greatest. I had a few people at the table and I had stacked the dirty plates because it took along time before she took our dirty plates. Wen I asked for alittle more tzatiki, the waitress told me to ask my family member at the other end of the table for her leftover tzatiki . She definitely wasn’t going to get my own.

The service at Simpatico was friendly and efficient but the meals took a long time to come out. They were not your usual Greek meals but some liked the lamb while the ribs were done in a barbecue sauce not your usual Greek spices and the prawn souvlakia had more veggies on it than prawns with no garlic flavour. The place got very busy as the evening progressed which was surprising as the food was certainly not very special!

We last dined at Simpatico's years ago. After our dinner, I wish we had eaten there more often. Dinner and service were terrific. The plump domaldes were served with a delicious yogurty sauce. My wife enjoyed her pizza with tasty toppings - basic pepperoni, mushroom and olives, good cheese and the right amount of tomato sauce. My chicken souvlaki was well-prepared and also delicious. We were served by a Greek-Canadian waiter who took time to advise us on menu choices and to chat - friendly and prompt service. The decor is beautiful as well. A fine night out - like being on vacation in our home town.

My husband and I were walking all along W 4th Ave looking for a place to eat. We initially walked by the restaurant because I wasn’t entirely sure what the menu entailed, but then he explained to me that it would be Mediterranean food! After he said that, I knew that it would be great. The restaurant was super cute and very quaint. We loved the natural light and openness that it had to offer. More than that, the food was excellent! We had the most fresh pita bread and hummus along with the lamb entree. We would definitely come back again!!!

Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of Vancouver's most transformative neighbourhoods. With a long history of coffee culture and poetry readings, its days of flower children and buskers may be long-gone, but not without leaving their mark on the number of organic restaurants and fair-trade cafes in the area. At the centre of Kitsilano ("Kits" for short) the almost idyllic expanse of Kits Beach offers the opportunity for a relaxed afternoon of beach volleyball or sunbathing. Along with the beachfront, nearby public pools and trendy street-beats have driven up the homeowners prices, making it a haven for stylish home goods stores, from design and furniture, to supplies and appliances. The multitude of both families and public spaces also make it a happening neighbourhood in the summer, when festivals and fairs take to Kits' streets.
