Lovely family run business with delicious freshly cooked food. Owner was a gent and could not be friendlier. Well worth a visit
The sign outside is no lie, this is the best butter chicken you can find in Vancouver with a chef that truly cares about what he cooks. An easy 10/10 definitely worth the trip
We recently learned that Vancouver has a lot of Indian restaurants. Now we really love to visit Vancouver because of excellent Chinese and Indian food. I saw Ashiana Tandoori on TripAdvisor and saw great near perfect reviews. So I decided to come here with my...family. We ordered butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, chicken tikka masala and chicken tikka. The food exceeded our expectations and was absolutely perfect. Rick the owner was so gracious and came to our table to talk to us. He also provided a complimentary dessert. My children loved butter chicken so much we bought another portion to take home to the US. We are so glad that we found another gem that we will return when we visit Vancouver. Prices are very reasonable we paid $100 USD including tip for the 5 dishes including 3 sides of naan and rice. We love supporting small business such as Ricks and appreciate the kindness and hospitality they provide.More
Three of us went for dinner and got there right as it was opening - after a long day of flying in, we were hungry! We were seated immediately - and our server was Rick who is also the chef and owner. He was extremely...friendly, took time to answer questions, and came back and talked to us several times as we enjoyed the food. It was outstanding - some of the most tender chicken I have had - it was easy to cut with just the fork. The shahi paneer and malai kofta were also outstanding - flavored extremely well without being too spicy. Naan was soft and buttery and the rice was also excellent. Rick regaled us with stories including how he founded the restaurant 42 years ago. He answered my Mom's questions of how the food was cooked and shared some information with her - as she also loves to cook. He brought my Dad Indian chai which was very authentic and excellent. Prices were very reasonable. We only were in Vancouver one night and drove to Whistler, but even considered making the 2-hour trip back from Whistler just to eat there again for another dinner (we didn't). Will definitely return when we come back to Vancouver - thank you Rick for an outstanding evening!More
For someone who is looking for an Indian Dine In , this is one of the best go to restaurant in Vancouver. Really enjoyed the lunch with family - Lamb Curry, Mutter Mushroom, Daal Makhani. Butter chicken with Lachedar Paratha was my personal favourite. Ambience...is an added advantage.More

We visited several indian restaurants in Vancouver, and this one is far the best! Don't let you fool by the look from outside.
We ordered a couple dishes for takeaway and thought they were great--especially the butter chicken. The owner was very friendly. Food was ready quickly, but we did order right after they opened.
We had a family of five for dinner. The food was excellent and the older members of our group had no trouble hearing each other, which is often a problem. We always enjoy the atmosphere as well as the food. The host was charming and...made us feel good.More
I notice all the reviews from the newspaper he hang on the wall. From 1992. It’s a big restaurant that seats a lot. They no long open for lunch only dinner. They open 5pm till 10pm. I have always seen this restaurant in the entertainment...book so I gave it a try. We order the Biriyani lamb and tandoori chicken. Both we really good. Rice was moist and very flavourful. Tandoori chicken was very tender and they give you half a chicken with every piece. Two of us couldn’t finish it. Owner was the waiter and would ask how’s everything and explains how they cook the dish. The naan I liked also. We waited about 20 mins for the food but was worth it.More
Just had dinner at Ashiana. The food was excellent. The personal service for the owner can’t be surpassed.
My title for this review is not trite or a joke, this really was the best Indian food I have ever eaten. The goat curry was luscious and complex and that old standard and usually boring Malai Kofta was creamy and delicious. We also had...the paneer tandoori and onion bahji all excellent. Reasonable prices and served by a very nice family that own the place. I will be back again and again.More
