Food is carefully prepared and ingredients are very fresh. We had a delicious dinner. The appetizer tasting menu of 4 small dishes are very creative. Sturgeon is nicely done and brilliant. You can see two kitchens on the floor. Waitress and waiters are friendly and very helpful. The ice wine is a little flat though.

We enjoyed an amazing meal with friends at the Blue Water Cafe on a visit to Vancouver. The food was artfully presented and exceptionally delicious. The service matched the high quality of the cuisine. Pricey but worth every cent.

We attended a company Christmas Party hosted in one of the private rooms - an impressive wine cellar. Service was excellent as was the food - from tasty appetizers while chatting with colleagues over a glass of wine, through to dessert. Good background music too. The restaurant itself was full with people having a great time. Will definitely go back!

If I go to a high end restaurant, I expect the service to be prompt, which is not the case here. Had to wait 10 mins to even get greeted by anyone at the door, the wine took over 15 mins etc...the food was good, but again, didnt wow me. Also, probably the only restaurant I ve been to that... More

My last experience wasn't very good last time so I thought I would give them another try. That's it I'm out. This was my favourite place in the city to eat and entertain and I must say goodbye. Tonight I brought a 1997 Sasscaia to enjoy. The server grabbed it by the neck and swung it over to the side... More

Went to Blue Water Cafe for my sister's birthday, and we were not impressed. The food was not up to the advertised quality. Not to mention the prices at this place are absolutely disgustingly high. Our server kept making awkward conversations and didn't know how to make a guest feel welcomed. It felt like they just wanted to take our... More

My second visit and again celebrating a special occasion. Service was very good/helpful, albeit a bit slow between courses. Fresh local oysters were fantastic as were all entrees, the sable fish to die for, not to mention the on the house creme brûlée with happy birthday wishes. Must mention our leisurely pace with no feelings of being rushed.

While I don't always agree with the TripAdvisor rankings this one is spot on. I have been to Michelin starred restaurants that aren't as good. Everything was on point: the food, the service, and the ambiance were all excellent. The oysters and sushi were simply out of this world and we topped it off with a pear bread pudding dessert... I have been to Blue Water before and everytime I leave thinking how amazing the fresh seafood is. Everything about this restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere, the food service, the cocktail and wine service and of course the quality of food. Coming from Ontario we do not have access the the west coast fresh Sockeye salmon, oysters and other west... More

I was on holiday in Vancouver and looking to eat some great food. Blue Water did not disappoint. I sat at the sushi bar and was thoroughly entertained. The sushi chefs worked masterfully. It was a delight to watch them. The food tasted amazing.

Staying in Yaletown & False Creek North

Neighbourhood Profile
Yaletown & False Creek North
Yaletown has risen from the ashes of its rough-and-tumble industrial past into one of Vancouver's new chicest neighbourhoods. The place responsible for originating of the phrase 'skid row' might not call to mind independently-owned boutiques and terraced cafes, but having swallowed the waterfront lines of False Creek North, the resulting amalgamation transformed the area into an elegant, stylish hotspot with a view. Its youthful vibe owes to the many young families and young professionals who live there, bolstering nightlife and restaurant variety along its cobbled streets. It is the flagship neighbourhood for modern revitalization, and the It-Spot for boutique hotels and modish eats.
