Ignore the decor and ambience and enjoy the tasty, authentic food. Generous portions and friendly family servers. Back soon!

If you're looking for authenticity, amazing flavors, real and unpretentious service, and in fact, just to experience or reminisce of Portugal, this is your place! I adore this place because it feels you just had pulled over in a family neighbourhood of Lisboa for a meal. I've had pretty much all the dishes in their menu, and while ALL are... More

Excellent, authentic European food! This is the REAL thing. This place is deceiving, they seem to keep a low-profile, but its truly real Portuguese food. I grew up in a small European-type town in Southern Ontario. My neighbours made their own whiskey in the basement, and it was full of Portuguese, Macedonian, Greek and Serbian mothers. I know authentic European... More

After reading reviews I expected more. We went on a Saturday which had the roast chicken special. The meal was large and tasty, but, not very hot. Fries were hot and tasty. The linguini with clams was disappointing. The clams were delicious, but, the sauce on the noodles tasted more like the clam juice than a wine sauce. I don't... More

I`ve traveled Spain, Italy, North and Central Europe...I`ve also lived in Japan for 8 years, and eaten at 500 year old "Kaiseki Ryori," restaurants. Studied culinary arts, and am authentic foodie. Trust me - this East Van hole in the wall is the best restaurant in the city! This is real AUTHENTIC Portuguese food!! What`s Portuguese food? Forget Italy, forget... More

We went there without much expectation, especially seeing the outside and the surrounding area. To our surprise, the food was really good. The steak was so juice and the homemade potato chips beat our expectation. The pork chop is a little bit on the dry side. The prices were reasonable and good service. When we left, the owner gave us... More

Went here for an authentic Portuguese meal and was underwhelmed on the whole. We were the only customers at dinner time. First of all there was no air con and no fan so it was sweltering inside. The table cloth was crumpled and had a scorch mark and the menus were dirty. They had no ice, no diet soft drinks... More

My husband is Portuguese and was very excited to find a restaurant with good Portuguese food. When we were driving there, I was questioning if the restaurant really existed in this area. It did and it was worth the drive. We were all very happy with the food and it reminded us of the amazing food we get in Newark,... More

My wife and I spent our summer holidays in Portugal for the first time last year, and enjoyed the people and food so much. Following that, we wanted to find an authentic Portuguese restaurant near to us, and were happy when we discovered Casa Verde in Vancouver. What we found there was the type of small family restaurant that we... More

I call this quaint Portuguese Restaurant a "Hole in the Wall" because you have to go looking for it. It's buried in the middle of a small non descript retail/industrial area in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood. After normal retail business hours, it is the only establishment that remains open. It is family run with the owner, his wife, his daughter,... More
