Seated immediately on a Thursday evening to the round banquette table. Great service, the waiter was charming and knowledgeable about all of the foods and specials. The food was delicious - we ordered lots of interesting dishes for sharing with our group of 5. Would visit again!!

I have been to Chambar for dinner numerous times. In fact, it is one of my favourite restaurants in Vancouver. I particularly love their Blue Fig Martini, Foie de Canard and Lamb Tajine. This time I decided to go to Chambar for lunch with two friends. I had the Coquotte Moules Frites and a glass of the Townsite Beer D'Hiver... More

Food was excellent, had no complaints, creative presentation. However husband & I went to celebrate special occasion. We felt #1) rushed to get in & out by staff #2) tables were very close together & I felt like I was sitting on neighbouring couples lap #3) quite noisy - found it difficult to talk especially in such cramped spacing. Maybe... More

Highly recommend to dine here. Efficient service and fantastic food. I can be sometimes very critic in terms of food quality and service but they exceeded my expectations.

We showed up without reservations and the hostess said it would be about 15 minutes for a table. We ended up waiting for 45 minutes while other groups passed us. Once seated the service was great, food was delicious and the atmosphere was very nice. We started with the waffles which were amazing! I would recommend this restaurant but make... More

I have reviewed Chambar before with five stars. Today we went for brunch and again....five big stars. I was expecting the lunch menu but due to being a Monday holiday we got the Sunday brunch menu. What started as a disappointment turned out to be a delicious surprise. Both my sweetheart and I had the "fricasse" which was ridiculously superb....soft,... More

I love the food here, my favorites are the mezze platter, Paella, and Mussels. I was here twice, both for lunch, usually busy, but I like the crowd here. Service is usually fast. Actually wish it was little slower, I did feel little rushed. Waffles are yummy too, will also come for breakfast. Location is convenient, and they have chic... More

As relatively new residents of Vancouver and Canada (8 months), one thing we have noticed with restaurants here is that they often tend to be too bright and are sometimes lacking in atmosphere. This was not the case with Chambar, the lighting, music and general ambiance on a Saturday night was pretty much perfect. As for food and drink, they... More

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
Gastown
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
