I go to Chambar for the mussles and fries. The best I've tasted outside Belgium and a lot better than some I've had even in that country. The problem is that their attention to detail and food quality draws me away from the main theme...More

Nice outdoor seating area and an eclectic indoor ambiance. The portions are small, so the price value for this restaurant would be considered pricey. You can get dressed up for this place, but most people come quite casual. We ordered the avocado toast breakfast but...More

Came to the neighbourhood to try the Jam Cafe next door - but didn’t want to stand in line for over an hour. Found Chambar next door and couldn’t be happier. Many unique and new dishes made it difficult to pick just one. Service was...More

Had a really nice brunch here with some family. The small waffles and assorted toppings are a must (along with whatever main brunch dish you order, which were all fantastic). Great coffee. The one downside was that I got a feeling that the place wasn’t...More

I’ve eaten here a couple of times, and had a great time. Only downside is that the tables are very close together and it’s challenging to get out without hitting the other table. They have the best selection of Belgian beer I have ever seen,...More

Enjoyed Sunday brunch here during a trip to Vancouver. My niece made the reservation well in advance and based on how busy the restaurant was, we were glad she had. We had a fantastic booth for five at the back of the restaurant and enjoyed...More

My expectations were high for this restaurant and we left quite disappointed. We tried the fresh baked bread and calamari for appetizers and the lamb and tuna for mains. The highlight of our meal was the baked bread. While the service and ambiance were both...More

It’s been a while since I was last at this restaurant. Fortunately it was as good as I remembered. Great vibe and better food. I had the calamari appetizer which is the best I’ve had and the duck with pistachio was fine to perfection. I’m...More

Cosy restaurant in a great building, serving great breakfast. Easy to reach next to the bike station Mobi and the Skytrain Chinatown station at the very beginning of Gastown (walking distance). If you arrive between 8.00 and 9.00 in the morning I have not seen...More

A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and
stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of
being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many
plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell
the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's
history a more lively presence here than anywhere
else. Having been originally founded around a popular

There is no formal dress code however they work their butt off in putting quality food in the plate and offer professional service so my philosophy is to not 'underdress". I had a suit no tie.

We make our bread fresh daily inhouse, if you can let me know the date you were in, and describe what you had and I'll see if I can get you a recipe. The starter is 40 years old and not something we can share.
