Visited October 4th, 2021 while down on a medical trip. This was a Monday and we found several places in Vancouver closed this day. The website mentioned French cuisine paired with seafood. We were able to make a last minute reservation for a inside table. Once at the restaurant we found that our reserved table was in the middle of several other tables in the restaurant. We explained that a one of us was immunocompromised, and they opened up a closed portion of the place just for the two of us. Even with being away from the main dining area, we found the service prompt and efficient. The menu was well appointed with enough choices of seafood, pasta, and meat. Both of us chose a different seafood pasta dish, and both were very well done. My seafood linguine came with a side dish to place the clam and mussels shells so they wouldn’t be in the way of the main dish once the meat was removed from them. The wine list here is extensive with several choices for both glass and bottle service. Prices range from low/mid to high so you can pretty much get whatever you want. Our waitress offered some house specials for dessert that weren’t on the menu. I ordered the poached pear and got a very nice dessert that tasted nothing like pear. Our waitress came by and noticed that I had been served the wrong ( but very tasty) dessert. Even though I was fine with the choice, she came back with the pear dessert as ordered. I’m not a dessert guy, and I don’t eat a lot, but both desserts were awesome. In fact the pear really knocked it out of the park! The ambiance is really nice, the menu and wine list well appointed, and the staff are very professional, friendly, and accommodating. A very nice first impression to Vancouver for someone from Southern Ontario.

Restaurant is located on a quiet street facing the marina. There is space separation or plexiglass between the tables outside and heat lamps! Great service. The food was wonderful. We tried their monthly 2 course special option of duo cured steelhead cucumber salad and choucroute de la mar and from their regular menu the Provencal sampler plus prawn and scallops spaghettini. Visually appealing and great on the taste buds. They even have what reminds us of Sampan canopies over their curbside patio seating, great idea to keep customers dry.

We dined at this restaurant based on reviews, and we were very impressed. We had one of the best dining experiences we have had in a long time. The service was superb. Our server, Gayton (sp?), was personable and efficient. He made excellent recommendations, particularly on our wine. The food was fabulous. The presentation was beautiful, and the combinations on each plate were perfect. I had the seared kanpachi, and my husband had the sea bream and scallop combination Both were excellent. The menu is very interesting, and I am sure we would have been happy with whatever we had selected. I wish we had more time in Vancouver so we could visit again. We will definitely keep it in mind for our next visit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting the area.

Gordon Ramsey would have a field day here. I got their salad with the salmon and it was incredibly plain, and it cost $30! I sat down for 10 minutes before finally getting up to ask for the menu. They said I have to scan the code on the table because of Covid. No one told me that when I sat down. I've eaten here twice and I was even more disappointed the second time than the first. If it weren't for the location, I'd never have walked into here again.

We visited here on Tuesday 20th of April for a birthday brunch as a couple. We arrived and spoke to the host (Josh), who was not friendly, and had a condescending attitude. We asked for a table in the sun on the street, where they had multiple free tables. He proceeded to seat us in the shade in the patio. We once again asked to be seated in the sun out near the street. In response, Josh said that only tables of 3 could be seated outside, as they had seats made up for 4, but had approx. 4 tables free. That would be ok, but they already had multiple groups of x 2 people already sitting at a table of 4. We addressed this with another waitress, who mentioned that the host was part of management and there was not much that she could do. We asked once more if we could be sat outside, however he would not accomodate us and essentially dismissed us. We proceeded to go next door to OEB, who seated us at a table of 4, outside near the street with no issues. And we had beautiful food!! As we ate our breakfast in OEB, these tables at Provence (that we had been earlier refused) remained free the whole time! They missed our business, and in a time like this where most restaurant businesses have been appreciative of customers who wish to support them, this was very unusual. If this condescending attitude, and refusal to seat willing customers with some degree of flexibility and accomodation, then the future of the restautant is bleak with the staff currently employed. In particular, we found our interaction with Josh extremely dissappointing and lacking in personal skills. If he is indeed part of management, then I pity staff working with him, if this is how he treats customers.

Ordered the eggs any way breakfast. French baguette was dry - didnt even come with butter and I had to ask for cream cheese. potatoes were quite good and crispy. Eggs are eggs and were good. I asked for the veal sausage and it was very skinny and dry with what seemed like no fat. It didn't look anything like the photos if you simply Google "veal sausage." I expect sausages to be fatty, plump, juicy, and this was the exact opposite - very disappointing. I almost thought they gave me the turkey sausage by mistake - but they didn't charge the extra $2 for it so I have no idea really.

Today Sunday August 29th 2021. This restaurant came highly recommended by a well know Chef in Vancouver. Certainly the food is excellent, and definitely great value. I dined here 3 times in a week, all excellent, and as a Director in the Tourism Industry I thought I had found the ultimate place to take clients. Very friendly Manager on Duty AUgt 22nd . Kindly listed me in the computer system after telling him who recommended the restaurant and introduced myself. Went back on the 24th for lunch and again on the 26th. Great Food and service and generously tipped 30%. Today the most rudest individual on desk, Barking "We dont take reservations for brunch, . I replied I know. I have been here 3 times this week, Do you have a table. "We dont take reservations. you can wait. . The tone and surliness of this individual totally put a damper on an otherwise pleasant outing. Our waiter was very friendly and gained another 30% gratuity. As for the receptionist, tall wearing dark skirt and blouse, If your front line people are a reflection of your restaurant and service, this person needs to be fired immediately. I will think twice before returning. (Hope someone from the restaurant is interested in their reputation enough to read customers comments. Signed. Regular customer..... Paddington.

Disappointing - We decided to try Provence for a birthday dinner but we were very disappointed with the service. Owners had to let go of a lot of staff due to covid restrictions and it definitely showed, they were completely under staffed! It took 15 minutes to get water and another 10 minutes before we had a chance to order our food. The food was over priced for what we got. Bits of shell in the lobster and crab as well. Staff checked on us once throughout the meal and once when we were done with our mains. Our waitress never came back and checked on us so we couldn’t order dessert and drinks, we had to get our bill by stoping a random staff member. Unfortunately I will not be back and do not recommend.

Recommended by our hotel (OPUS) Provence Marinaside is a short walk with a great view of the marina and an even better wine list and menu. I had a great glass of BC Viognier (Lightening Rock) to go with my seared sea bass on quinoa and greens, while my husband had the grilled prawns (large and juicy). We were seated outside and greatly enjoyed the wonderful food. Although I don’t drink much any more, it was great fun to read the wine list and the after-dinner list of cordials. 1918 Armagnac anyone? I settled for an excellent camomile-citrus tea and my husband had a great crème Carmel. We enjoyed seeing a couple of families and some pampered pets. Highly recommended!

The outdoor seating was nice because you got a little view of people walking by, the water sort of.. It never got too cold because they did have heaters on. We got oysters and they were delicious. I had the duck leg confit, which i thought was really good - the skin was really crispy and the meat was tender and juicy and flavorful. For dessert, we got this French cake which I didn't love. It was very small, and sort of tart because of the berries in it. Other than that it was nothing special.

If you're biking along the seawall (which we were) and you require refueling or sustenance to help you along the way, do yourself a favor and stop in at Provence. We sat outside, sipped some great cocktails (try the French spritz) and loved our meals - we shared the Chorizo scramble and the Lobster and Crab omelet. Feeling happily reenergized after our meal, we wandered the streets of Yaletown a bit before continuing our journey around Vancouver.

Our last night in Canada had to be good. We search through all the usual restaurant reviews and thought Granville island would be great, but we settled upon this restaurant due to its reviews and marina location. We were not disappointed. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and were found a comfy sofa table just outside of the restaurant in the terrace. The waitress was superb, very helpful and positive towards helping with our food choices. We had goats cheese, calamari to start between us.. Then we each chose pasta or tenderloin or fish for main. Every dish was brilliant. A perfect setting and lovely team at the restaurant.

We had breakfast today and the service and food was so good. Provence is making the best of a difficult situation by providing a great experience and above standard food and service. They are so well organized. You can’t beat the location for a waterfront table in Vancouver.

It was a beautiful day to have dinner out on their patio and look onto the false creek seawall. We had a very good meal of calamari, ravioli and mussels with fries. Friendly, good service. Pay street parking can be challenging or park in the parking lot on the side street.
