Shockingly Expensive $260 for 5.

I think the food is great. The service was great. There is very few dishes with any vegetables (tempura, gomai or teriyaki veg). So be prepared to eat a lot of meat if you want to get your money’s worth. We were 4 adults and 1 child (11). The bill was $260 (no drinks). The child must have been full rate. Don’t believe the websites that show the cost at 20-30 per person. In my opinion, the meal was not worth that expense. This makes me sad because Shabusen used to be my favourite excursion when I visited Vancouver.

Miss of experience… bad bowels…

2/5: not an easily spotted restaurant as it on the second floor. Our sever didn’t explain how ordering works. They turn on the bbq and disappeared. We wrote up our order. The items come out fast but They didn’t instruct us how long to cook each bbq meat(beef/chicken/shrimp/lamb). All our bbq meat had the same sauce. Our grills were not changed at all. We were served white tuna which cause a few our dining mates to have orange oily droplets bowel movements… wouldn’t recommend it.

We arrived at opening time and joined the queue after a very long 3 hour walk on the waterfront, therefor we were starving. When we got inside we were asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't think we needed, anyway the waiter said if we could finish by 18.30 we could have a table. Then we took an hour and a half satisfying our hunger with some really great food. We will return and reserve next time.

Avoid being seated at the Sushi counter

We tried to reserve a table but were told there was no need as at 8pm it was no problem to get a table for 2. First disappointment was that we waited almost 45 mins for a table and were then seated at the Sushi counter. Initially that was OK, but at 9.30pm the Chefs started to clean the counter and in between splashing and rinsing they kept preparing orders. The dining experience was completely spoiled. Don't expect much service, but given the all-u-can-eat concept that did not come unexpected. Food quality for Sushi was also in line with the concept. BBQ beef and BBQ chicken was of poor quality. Overall and given the excellent Sushi quality and considerably low prices for Sushi in the city, I would recommend to look for alternative restaurant(s).

SOOOO NOT WORTH IT!!! Just a waste of money!!

Tried this place after hiking Jeoffrey Lake and since it is hard to find Korean BBQ in downtown. Price was expensive so we were expecting the food and service was atleast good. The food was okay but we were worried of food contamination if there is. They served raw pork and beef in one bowl. We were from Toronto and we've never had this way before. Everything was mixed; we were very surprised. The place itself was very hot. No air circulation with all the smoke from the grill. It was very uncomfortable. We only had one round and we were ready to go. The price was not worth the food. Lastly, while paying on the counter, the owner told that we had to pay for big group rate (we were only 5 ppl) + he had FORCED us to pay extra for the tip considering we did not enjoy every moment in that place.

This restaurant's policy of forcing customers to tip is not only rude, but also illegal. In most cases, it is illegal to require a tip, and customers are free to choose whether or not to leave one. The restaurant's way of asking customers to pay for leftovers is also questionable. While it is customary to tip for good service, it is not mandatory. The restaurant's behavior is disappointing and should be reported. I used to love this restaurant before but not anymore. Staffs are all trained and required to ask for a tip. It's very wrong. And the food is no longer worth the price. I can't recommend this to anyone, you'll end up getting upset.

Excellent overall. No Jello for Kids!!

Reservation is a good idea. There is two sushi restaurant on the same floor of the same building but with different entrances. Staff is great. Food came timely and tasted great. Sushi portion was fair. If food doesn’t come within 15 mins, check with the staff that everything from the last order is served. Then order more. There wasn’t much choice for desert. I order jello but it came with a coffee topping. Found out too late and my two kids had some for dinner. Not fun for the next two hours. They were hyper! Order jello without the coffee topping!!

Wow it’s been some time since being back to this place .. Was good years back but absolutely beyond horrible service and absolutely disgusting …🤮. If it was my first time great as you don’t know what to expect .. But being to many other sushi places all you can eat , I would not want to be paying good money to get my experience ruined by service including trashy rude patrons eating there ….

Right downtown that is the only positive. Dark and dirty place. Cold and unfriendly staff. High priced and not much selection. Food quality is mediocre at best. Save your money far better places to go in Vancouver.

NEVER IN MY LIFE HAVE I EVER BEEN HARRASSED INTO LEAVING A TIP....! Being from a European back ground TIPS are something you leave if everything was very good, food and service. When I paid the bill I did not tip as I really did not feel the food and or the service warranted a tip. In my books a TIP is a extra and not monitory thing. But that is just what happened....I had the server bully me then called management over to lay into me....just to shut them up I paid the F'n tip. And as if this was not bad enough we got kicked out because I did not tip. Here we are a family with a new born baby, and get treated this way. SCREW YOU, I will NEVER BE BACK. And if anyone asks me about going there....I will have NO problem telling them where NOT TO GO....! SHAME ON YOU...

This restaurant in business for a long time , more quantity them quality ,,little expensive for the poor quality of the food you get, again I all way say you pay what you get ! safety plan and social distance well follow , we all feel very comfortable ,staff is excellent ,very helpful , it is AYCE Japanese and Korean BBQ ,one things very impressed most is they do not cut back your order like if you order 10pcs beef short ribs ,you do get 10 pics on your tablet not 5 or 8 ,it is 10 ! what every your order ,you get what you order , all the Sushi and Sashimi is frozen ,the mussels are smile like old shoes ,or should I say all the seafood items not fresh at all ! very unique interesting taste !!very disappointed but surprised me all is the BBQ items is excellent ,special the BBQ Lamb Chop ,the beef ribs and BBQ Octopus not shabby at all ,great place if you starving and do not care the quality ,go for it ,it is average restaurant !I just too fussy ! not likely I will be back soon ,also my hairs my cloth all small like BBQ !
