This place was within walking distance of our hotel so we decided to check it out. I would say there menu is more fancy than a traditional burger place. They were able to accommodate picky eaters though. The burgers and fries were great. While I rarely drink I did decide to try one of their beers and it was good.... More

Located just next to the waterfront station this casual restaurant has a spectacular waterside view. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Had the best Hamburger in town here! But there is a large selection of seafoods, pasta, steak, salads etc too on the menu. Large selection of beer, some are home brewed. Prices are moderate.

A local family member recommended this place. It has an English Pub, Sports Bar , Brewpub feel to it and the staff we encountered was cool, yet respectful and generally cheerful. The food menu is a bit overwhelming, but maybe that's because I could have eaten almost everything. I ended up with the Lobster Ravioli which was very very good.... More

I had time for a late lunch and dropped into Steamworks. I was there a few years ago for supper and I had fond memories. I was not disappointed the server was helpful and helped me pick a flight of four of their beer. I was a bit late but fortunately there was one pork on a bun sandwich left.... More

I ha a couple of drinks here. A large bar with a number of rooms. I ordered the yam fries which unfortunately came covered in a v sticky balsamic glaze which made eating them a messy experience. I finished half and when I said no to having the remainder boxed, the server instantly took the cost of them off the... More

We stopped by at the Steamworks for dinner one night, it looked really busy but because it's so vast, they managed to easily accommodate us and the service was excellent. I had soft fish tacos which were really tasty although the portion was so large it almost put me off a bit. The beer however was fantastic and we managed... More

We were looking for a quiet place to eat, but in this area of town nearly all of the bars and restaurants were playing loud, heavy beat music. Not everybody want to be deafened while eating. some of us like to have a conversation with our friends. We eventually found a quieter corner in Steamworks, still music playing but not... More

Found this by accident, it was cold and wet and it look inviting, we sat outside with the canopy heaters on and some great food and drink. The service was very good without being pushy.

Staying in Gastown

Neighbourhood Profile
A visit to Gastown is like turning back the clock and stepping into a bygone era. With the distinction of being Vancouver's oldest neighborhood, the many plaques that stud the cobbled streets of Gastown tell the story of its colorful past, giving Vancouver's history a more lively presence here than anywhere else. Having been originally founded around a popular worker's saloon, it's no wonder that today some of Vancouver's best micro-breweries, creative cocktail joints, and corner bars can be found in this area. Classical charm suffuses its many vintage boutiques and the brick-built structures that an army of creative professionals call home.
