The Sandbar is a “must go” whenever I visit Vancouver. Visited this time with the family and ordered The Sandbar Tower to share. Excellent selection of chilled and cooked fish, shrimps, crab and lobster. The Sandbar never disappoints!! Thanks also to Tisha for the best...and friendliest service!More

Our friends said come here for live music and we stayed because of how warm everyone was. The bubbly hostess at the start, the jovial manager with the fun hair, and the tall bartender with the biggest smile. It was our first time here and...they all treated us like family. Gutarist was fantastic and the squid is the best. Thank you for the great time and see you again.More

The Sandbar has always been a delicious restaurant with gorgeous views so I was really looking forward to my reservation for lunch. However, when I arrived I was told that my table would be a thirty minute wait, even with my reservation that I had...made a week prior. I dismissed it as just being busy with limited capacity due to the pandemic. The service was subpar, not what you expect at a higher end restaurant. My boyfriend and I actually wanted to try more food but weren’t given the opportunity. The food we did receive was horrible. We both ordered a few items off the menu to try. The salad had wilted lettuce that was past it’s prime. The bread was soaked in oil and cold. The only tasty item was the Brussel sprouts! For a date that we were both looking forward to, it was a huge disappointment. I don’t think we will be back. We did try and reach out to the restaurant to see if it was just an off day but we never heard a reply.More

Plans to meet my sister fell through and we decided to have late lunch at the Sandbar. The patio has an unusual view and feels like a hideaway. Safe, distanced setup and friendly service. The food is always exceptional, this visit was in keeping with...our expectations. Omar was our friendly, knowledgeable server and kept us happy and promising to return. 💕More

Every visit is A+ from start to finish from the greeting to the service from Tisha to the visit from the supervisor on the floor. And I won’t forget the little guys the bussers the server help and the people in the kitchen. We try...to visit at least once a month as this is my wife’s favourite on Granville Island. We’ve had many great servers from Tommy to Heather who each and every time leave us with a smile on our face. He you haven’t been give them a chance and I’m sure you will be impressed with the food the staff and the service!More

Covid has been tough, but today we enjoyed, once more, what food prepared by the talented tastes like! Picture perfect linguini with the fattest scallops. My husband ordered focaccia with mushrooms, dull no! it was amazing. Fresh wild mushrooms on handmade bread, oven roasted to...perfection. And a bottle of Burrowing Owl wine, our own best of BC selection! And desert... the best chocolate pudding, better than Mom. Smothered in pistachios. The big test for me is the cappuccino... Big win here also! the hotest coffee and a steaming side of milk, who could ask for more! The best was our natural fun server, Jess T. Saw we were celebrating the return of great food, and was with us all the way. 5 big stars!More

It was our first date after dine-in rules were lifted and we were so happy with our choice to visit The Sandbar. We ate oysters, mussels, sushi, and halibut. Nothing disappointed, even the veggies that came with the halibut tasted so fresh and delicious. We...are both gluten + dairy sensitive and were able to enjoy our meal with no issues. They even had gluten-free beer for us too! Our server Tisha was so sweet and went above and beyond to create an exceptional experience for us. We are so grateful for her taking the time to make sure all details were perfect. One of the oysters that came out was quite small and without us asking she brought another. It's small gestures such as this that made us feel very taken care of, which is a big deal for us after working a long and stressful week. Nights that my partner and I get to enjoy together are less common these days with everything we have going on, so it means a lot when we get to spend it together having a great meal and experience. So much thanks to the team at The Sandbar, especially Tisha, Omar, and the support staff who dropped our food off. We can't wait to come see you again. - Carly & TaylorMore

My friend and I came here last minute and were still able to book a reservation. Our waitress Katie was unbelievable and provided amazing service! She made the experience better than we could've hoped for. Thank you Katie and Sandbar for everything!

I would enjoy dinner there if it was my Wedding Anniversary, so I agree with the comments made by the other reviewers. Have a great evening!
