Went on a Saturday morning around 9:20 and had to wait 5 to 10 minutes to get a booth of which there are only about 6. Later, people lined up outside the diner. We had the Big Ass Breakfast which included delicious turkey breakfast sausage, and a New Denver Omelette with juicy ham. The staff was friendly and diner-like efficient. The interior was an authentic throwback to the 50s/60s. Worth a visit!

I lived in Vancouver for 6 years and walked past this iconic restaurant hundreds of times … but never went in! So visiting the city many years later provided me a chance to finally step foot inside… I arrived around 10.20am on a Monday and waited for a friend — I only had to wait a few minutes before a booth became free, which was great for such a small and always-popular place! Menu was excellent, but I couldn’t decide what to get! Breakfast/Brunch is often challenging for me, as I’m allergic to eggs — but there were plenty of other great options and I went for the vegan tofu scramble. Both of our meals were excellent: large, fresh ingredients, and very tasty. I really liked the tofu scramble — something I’ve always wanted to try! Service was also fabulous — super welcoming, friendly and open to accommodating menu request changes as needed. And of course, you can’t go wrong with just how cute and funky this place is :) Would definitely return!!

Authentic diner with original features. The food was delicious and excellent quality with a really good selection on the menu. The staff were polite, friendly and efficient. We were fortunate enough to arrive for breakfast just before opening time as there was a constant queue of customers waiting for free tables whilst we were there. I would definitely return

Was a pretty bad experience. Saw 2 rats scurrying around inside. One of our glasses had a long black hair in it, all the glasses were not clean and had soap residue and fingerprints. There was also some black thing in the pitcher of beer at the bottom (which may have been a rat dropping, who knows). One member of our party ordered vegetarian bacon for a sandwich, but pork bacon was on the sandwich. They just took the bacon off and switched it, rather than making a new dish. Took a long time to even get our drink order in and a mimosa poured only half a glass. Not a high maintenance group, but was really shocked at how bad this place was.

Such a great find. It is tiny so you will likely have to wait out front in line for a bit but worth the wait. We had breakfast there and everyone enjoyed it. Even at 10am, people were coming in for milkshakes, so those must be pretty good as well. The service was very fast and on top of it and the food was great. The menu had options for everyone.

We were staying in Vancouver and were recommended the Templeton which was relatively close. The restaurant is a diner in the true sense of the word where you go to eat when you are hungry and want to enjoy the coffee. We had breakfast which is cooked there and then in surroundings which again, are great if you like diners. Having lived in the US for a period of my life I miss this reality food experience without the frills but a maximum on flavor and quality. The place reminded me of the diner scene in “Blues Brothers” , the menu is great, the service is also great and having been touring in Canada for the past 3 weeks this place was a real change. It wouldn’t suit everybody as we are all made differently, I thought the eggs B were outstanding. Wish we had one of these were I live in the UK. If you are in Vancouver, highly recommended.

We went here based on the high reviews and reasonable prices from other restaurant patrons below. The Templeton is indeed a classic diner experience with huge portions and quality food that we did enjoy as part of our day out. However, it took an exceptional amount of patience to say that we enjoyed our time here---based on a 30miin wait outside to get a table (with several vacant tables at one point and helpless looks from staff inside) and just kind of rude, surly service that tended to drag on for quite a while..making the "snappy" part of their motto on the door pretty darn inaccurate. Since there are lots of diners in other places, I'd suggest finding yourself another place to eat and giving this place a big, wide miss!

After meeting my client at Holiday Inn , I decided to dropped in Templeton restaurant for lunch , it was my flavour breakfast place downtown less eight years ago , it is been a while since my last visit and the area still scuzzy looking , the place still busy after 1pm , it is a 60's diner , like greasy spoon style , so do not expect a 5 stars dinning , just a good old fashioned comfort food , large menu lot of choices , they do server breakfast all day and my Salmon Benny very standard , eggs little runny , the hollandaise sauce taste different what I use to have , not too shabby , when you go to any old dine , must order their iconic Milkshake , a classic item , my strawberry milkshake so creamy just the right thickest , a classic diner dishes and the lady sever so friendly well take care , great lunch by myself ! so if you around the Granville area , got to try there Milkshake . I had breakfast at a different restaurant every morning and The Templeton wins on all three flavour, service and pricing. There's a few great restaurants in Vancouver but this one takes first place for me. If you only get one breakfast in downtown Vancouver, make it this place. There might be a wait to get in and there's a very good reason for that. It's worth it.

We were lucky in that we had a minimal ( 5-10 min ) wait for a table for 4. all 4 in our group had breakfast and everyone was happy with their choices. Server took good care of us - water, coffee / hot water for tea kept topped up. I love diner breakfasts and this didn't disappoint - would certainly come back.

Eating out is expensive. Getting a decent portion size of food can be tricky, especially for a good price. This restaurant gives you decent portions, decent food for a decent price (compared to other places). There was a line up when we got there, but everyone in line told us this was the place to be. The place is quite small, so they couldn't hold a lot of customers. We decided to wait (it took us about 20 minutes to get in). The location of the restaurant was a bit scary. I would not want to be there after dark that is for sure!!!!

The Templeton Restaurant was enjoyed by my family, even if it’s in a bit of a sketchy part of Vancouver, the diner fare is solid. Our server was nice enough, but seemed not too care that much that we were overcharged on our meal. We just took a coffee to go for the extra money were charged. My kids liked the comic inspired table designs. Our food came quickly, the eggs Benny were nice., my Huevos Rancheros were solid, the pancakes and fruit were delicious. Not to mention, the grapes were superb, no idea what type they were, they just were awesome! When back in Vancouver, I know I will do my best to make another visit to the Templeton!!

Stopped here for breakfast after reading great reviews. The diner is a sweet spot with fun vibes. I got the vegetarian benny — fresh avocado, tomatoes and spinach with rosemary hashbrowns, yum! He had the French toast with whip and fruit. Great coffee!!!

A favourite breakfast stop in Vancouver that is almost always lined up but never disappoints for quality and value for food and service. It’s family, friend, lover and single friendly! Great choice of amazing breakfast choices and meals. The service is very personal and they make you feel at home even while running around serving all the guests. You’ll probably have to wait but it’s well worth it, take a break and enjoy!

Lovely place with excellent customer service. Nothing was too much trouble to ensure all members of the family had a great meal. If you’re staying at Vancouver this is a great place for breakfast to set up the day.
