this is a large and busy restaurant which is has efficient and personable staff and great food. You can sit inside or outside under a covered verandah and the views of the marina are great. We enjoyed our meal and although it was a busy time of day we did not feel 'rushed' . Would recommend

This seafood restaurant is a good one, located in Granville Island, has view of the harbor, well decorated, polite staff, few dishes are good and few are not. In summertime it is difficult to find a place to park, especially on weekends. I suggest going on weekdays. Always make reservations. But prepare to pay high for the dishes. It is overpriced...

Fantastic waterview experience in the heart of touristy Granville Island. Just because it’s the first restaurant you see when you cross the bridge doesn’t mean it isn’t the best. We got lucky as today was 1/2 price wine day and our bottle of wine was $25 rather than $50. The Sauvignon Blanc was the perfect compliment to the chilled seafood tower. When first delivered to our table it looks impressive and but we thought it wouldn’t be enough for to hungry travelers. We were wrong!! The added compliment of local salmon and tuna rounded out the shellfish platter of shrimp, oysters, mussels, crab legs and whole lobster to fill us up. The next best thing to the food was our fabulous waiter Eric who shared his years of oyster insight with us and amazing service. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Vancouver.

My husband and I ate here for dine out vancouver with friends of ours, and it was the worst meal either of us have had in a long time. The fried sturgeoun tasted like overly battered fried chicken, KFC tasted better. The bison tartar had such an overpowering flavor of mustard that my eyes were watering and sinuses were cleared out. It may as well have been ground beef, we would have never known because any flavour of anything else was completely undetectable under the flavor of mustard! I could only eat half because I couldn't handle the mustard flavourful. Then we got 3 orders of the wagyu beef, all ordered medium rare. Every order of the wagyu came to the table overcooked to well done and hard and chewy - was very obviously NOT wagyu but just a regular cut of beef. The meat was overly salted, the first bite tasted like biting into a salt block!! One of the side dishes was some sort if fried potato stick...that was completely unseasoned and had zero flavor. I hate complaining to the server, and I very rarely send food back...but this meal I just could not eat. To be honest I could have made better at home! However I do have to say our server was amazing and so nice! He cake back to the table and noticed the overcooked beef and brought another whole plate of the meal properly cooked, but the kitchen should have caught the three plated of overcooked beef before sending them out. I have had wagyu at many places, and this meat was mist definitely not wagyu. I definitely will not ever be coming back here after this experience!

My husband wanted a lobster roll and we were in Granville Market and we decided to give this a try. Lobster roll according to hubby was only ok. I had a mediocre salad with chickpeas (well only two chickpeas). The salad was overpriced , the restaurant was beyond loud and we were seated smack dab in the center at a small table. Waste of money and waste of time. No vegan options for those that don’t eat fish, meat, dairy.

Awful service. Passable food.
We were seated at a table that was on a walkway.
Initially, the food; (each one of the three of us ordered fish and chips - they “ran out” of halibut, so it was just cod;) came by quickly. I received my one mug of coffee after 15 min.
The fish had a lot of batter, very little flakes of fish.
After 1 hr, our server had not bothered to come by and ask if we were ok or needed anything. I asked twice for a coffee refill to some other servers and was totally ignored! Another server came by to pick up empty dishes and I asked for some hot water, which he brought right away.
We ordered another piece of fish, which took more than 35 min and after we asked twice! (Hardly any fish in the first piece and needed to meet quota for day, but second piece didn’t help either!)
When we asked for the bill, we didn’t have to wait even 3 min.
Don’t think I’ll bother ever going there, and will not be recommending this place to anyone.

Decided to try this place after a few hours of wandering around Granville Island markets. They had a $44, 4 course set lunch menu on offer, so in we went and ended up having one of the most loveliest meals we'd had in a restaurant in ages. There was a great choice on the menu from which we had butternut squash soup, mussels, prawns, sirloin steak, salmon and sticky toffee pudding. Delicious food cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. Also because it was a Tuesday there was certain wines with 50% off!! We will definitely be going back and will recommend to anyone we know visiting Vancouver.

We visited on a busy Monday lunchtime. The restaurant is located right next to the water. My wife and I were seated on the patio, and enjoyed spotting the seals, as we waited for our meals. My wife has Tomato Bisque and Crab & Shrimp Fritters, and I had the two Haddock and Chips. The meals were delicious, if a little pricey, but it was a special occasion, so it was worth it.
We enjoyed the whole experience except for one thing - Just before we ordered two people came up to our table, and asked nicely for a look at the menu, which we had finished with at that point. From another part of the restaurant, a server darts over and shouts at the couple, saying there are menus at the front of the restaurant to look at. This was very unprofessional, especially as everyone in our section could hear her. We were glad that she was not our server, otherwise we would have strongly considered walking out. She needs a refresher in how to communicate with customers.

Our party of eight ordered a number of dishes including their famous Halibut Fish and Chips for dinner.
I had the fish and chips a few times before for take-outs. It was great!
Unfortunately, this was not a good day to go there - August 1st, a holiday.
One of my guest had to returned the fish and chips because it did not looked crisp. The replacement plate look far fresher. The chips were fresher in colour compared to the burnt-out chips on my other guest's plates.
My sister who travelled all the way from Singapore did not finished the one piece of Halibut nor the chips she ordered,
I was too embarrass to complain and did not want to make a scene and spoil the family reunion. I did mentioned my disappointment to the waiter. He acknowledged it was busy.
In addition there was a compulsory 18% gratuity for a party of five.
A total waste of $287 for shoddy food. Not cheap at $30 a plate. You are better off going next door to Tony's Fish and Chips.
TheVancouver Fish Company just lost a loyal customer.
Going back to Sandbar or Cordero's .

My husband and I shared the seafood platter! There were crabs legs, lobster, oysters, mussels, and so much more. We were provided with special utensils for getting all of the meat out of the shells. We sat on the patio, great view of the harbour. Service was outstanding Would go again.

We were visiting Vancouver for 1 night before boarding a cruise ship and wanted Alaskan King Crab. We started with the special Prawn appetizer which was delicious. The king crab and fish did not disappoint. Our waiter was prompt, friendly and very helpful describing menu items. It was a beautiful evening and we sat outside which I highly recommend!

Positives: great service. Nice choice on menu. Most of the food was good.
Negatives: I had the salmon and it was very over done and dry, which for a place that specialises in fish was a bit of a surprise. The restaurant itself was also quite cool, verging on cold.
It's a nice atmosphere and view, it was pleasant but nothing great.

We had just a short wait for a mid-afternoon table and were seated on the patio with a good view of the small boat harbour just below.
The menu is quite limited and a bit pricey so we had garlic bread (basically long croutons), seafood chowder and a sandwich.
All the food was tasty but portions could be a bit larger.
Our server was very pleasant and did just the right amount of checking on us.
Overall impression: it was a good lunch. We were hoping for a great lunch.

Happy Hour Review
Decided to spend the day in Granville Island, lots to see, eat and do here. It was around 4pm and we were down for Happy Hour, walked past this place earlier in the day and noticed their menu! We were promptly greeted by 2 hostess and asked if we preferred in or out, well it was a beautiful day in Vancouver so we wanted out, plus the view of the harbor was quite beautiful. Here’s the HH Menu 3-5pm
Sips
House wine red/white
Draught Beer
Highballs
Bites
Oysters
Prawns
Mussels
Halibut bites
Prawn Cocktail
Caesar Salad
Mains
Wild Salmon
Seafood Linguini
Striploin
We were still full from lunch so we opted for the Oysters and Mussels both absolutely delicious the mussels were Salt Spring Island mussels served with chorizo and creamed leeks all this needed was a beautiful piece of crusty bread to soak everything up! Oysters was refreshing, light briny taste with a hint sweetness!

We stopped by today for a quick lunch. We were seated in the patio section. You definitely smell the sea air from there! The tables were spaced apart and some of the closer tables were separated by plastic barriers, so I did feel comfortable dining there. The servers, however, were NOT masked, so that made me uncomfortable.
We only had 2 bowls of seafood chowder, some garlic toast and shared the crab fritter appetizer - the bill came to $50 before tips! The bowl of chowder was small, though good, but it was $12 a bowl!!! The 3 TINY crab fritters were $19!!! That's more than $6 a fritter - and they were tiny little things!
Although the food was fine, the prices were extremely unreasonable. We probably won't be back, especially when there are so many other seafood restaurants to choose from.
