Went there without reservations on a sunday and the restaurant was packed. Staff was very friendly. The menu is quite large with lots of images so you get an idea of what you ordered. We ordered satay, taufu-dish, lamb curry, prawns and a thai-mango salad and singha beer. The food was very good. Prices are moderate. Recommended if you like... More

The food was tasty and pretty good but the prices are crazy, nearly $18 as an average price for a dish. Other places are cheaper. Nearly $2 for a satay is daylight robbery.

Having worked in the restaurant industry I try to be generous with my comments. The food was decent, but I can go to a hundred restaurants with decent food with significantly better service!! It was a celebratory business dinner and the group of us (4) ordered drinks, an appetizer, and four large entrees (including a 3lb lobster which was priced... More

we went there as a group of 6 after not being there for about 5 years. The menu has changed. the worse is the prices has gone up substantially. We ordered curry beef, curry lamb, green curry with chicken, stir fry green beans and shrimp, roti. The dishes were all too salty and too oily. Every dish was soaked in... More

Amongst a row of options we choose this one because it advertised a variety of Asian food. The place was pretty packed so a good sign and the staff were quick to great us and show us to a table. The menu was varied and the staff happy to explain if you were not sure. The food was very good... More

Used to be one of our favorite Malaysian restaurant. Lately I found that the food quality and service has gone a bit downhill. Was there with friends and family in June. Even though we have a booking for 8 at 7:00, we did not get a table till 7:30. Plus the receptionist has no concern about our ling wait. The... More

Since becoming a vegan 5 years ago, I had not paid a visit to any Tropika for some time. My visiting guests wanted to try the place so I decided to go along after examining their menu. I was able to find a vegetarian fried rice. The guests had the usual satay skewers, the roti bread, and a couple of... More

We go to Tropika on Cambie every time we are in Vancouer, fefintely worth a visit as it is unique due to the fact that they serve Malayisian, Thai and a bit of Indian cusine. Love the roti and the coconut seafood fried rice. Satay of cours is very succulent.

Enjoyed very good Malaysian food, when we finally got service. Restaurant was not all that busy, we were seated promptly, after that...the service was extremely slow. Received glasses of water and then waited almost 20 minutes before our order was even taken. Food was delicious and the menu has a great variety to choose from. Had to ask for the... More

First time visiting Tropika, I highly recommend dining with an experienced Malay food diner. Arrived after the lunch hour, we were quickly seated and given menus. LOVE the menu...lots of pictures of the dishes. The waiter stated that the heat of the dishes could be adjusted to our preference. So...we ordered a spicy prawn and noodle soup and an order... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
