I am looking at our receipt: Pizza 2001, 595 Pender Street, Vancouver BC. Now I look at the photo of the shop and see a bunch of names up on the storefront: 2001 Flavors and Fantastico Pizza 2001 and then our receipt says Pizza 2001....This is a little corner business with a few stools, a pizza display case, and an active kitchen. A lot of their business is pie by the slice. Our order was for a large veggie so we waited while it was being prepared. We've been here 2 years ago and remembered it as one of our best-ever pizzas but memories can be flawed and expectations may be over-blown. Although it was pretty good, something was missing. The sauce or the cheese (or both?) were sort of bland and the veggies lacked interest. Would we go there again? Maybe. There are lots of pizza places to try so the search may very well continue.More

First, this isn't a dining experience. This isn't a criticism. When you go to 2001 you're going to have a tasty pizza slice, or a whole pizza pie. The idea being that you'll eat your tasty meal quickly and go, or, have your pie delivered....The owners are awesome and they are pizza masters. You can get the standard topping combinations, which I get often, or, you can have their unique combinations, which I get just as often. I'm not a vegetarian but they have such a variety of veggie options that you have to try them. I've tried them all and they're great. Their meat combinations are wonderful as well. I usually get one slice with meat and one veggie. The crust is wonderful, crispy and chewy. They use just the right amount of cheese. They also offer a variety of toppings to suit a number of tastes. eg: ketchup, parmesan, hot sauce, ranch, oregano, etc... There is also a large variety of drinks to go with your meal. eg: soda's, juices, water, italian soda varieties, etc... The prices are excellent! This is a real gem in the heart of downtown Vancouver. They also have another location on Robson st. if that's more convenient.More

I ordered a slice of salami pizza and a slice of ham/pepperoni pizza. Both were very tasty and the prices are also good. I paid around 4.50 CAD for both slices. I'm definitively coming back!

Ordered a Chicken, and Peporoni pizza for my staff and asked for delivery for 8 Pm. The Pizza arrived on time with 2 courtesy calls made by them just prior to the delivery. The delivery guy (a young kid) was well mannered, friendly and polite....Actually a kid that enjoyed his job and that just got him a slightly bigger tip. The Pizza was fresh and piping hot. The peporoni was really tasty. This place serves good pizza for a reasonable price and I personally would strongly recommend it.More

I ordered a medium veggie pizza. They allowed me to substitute mushrooms for the olives. The veggies were delicious (big pieces and not over-cooked). The bread and sauce were very tasty. $10 for a medium pizza is great (perfect for 2 hungry people).

I use to live right above this place, so the surrounding restaurants became my hunting ground after a long day at work. Having tried the other places I have to say this place makes my fav pizza for that area of DT Vancouver. I recommend...trying the garlic pizza. When they have it, it's always first to go. At around lunch time there are line ups here but the employees usually move everyone in and out of their small space in good time. If you're in the area it's worth a try.More

it may be more expensive but defiatly worth it. this place is a favorite for me for pizza downtown. they have more selection and the pizza and even staff seem friendlier food, value and service are all great Atmosphere is not great but than again it...is not a fancy pizzaria it mostly does by the slice and in that catorgory the are a cut above the restMore

Why pay more for pizza when there are tons of $0.99 or $1.25 pizzas all over town? It's DAMN GOOD pizza that's why! The toppings in terms of quality and quantity far surpasses those other pizza joint. Their pizza flavours are unique and the dough...is perfect. IF this place was an actual restaurant, I would eat here for dinner. Pizza and beer.More
