Good food. Gnocchi light and fluffy. Great Italian flavours in the chicken Saltimbocco. Even the olive oil for the focaccia is fresh and fruity, a cut above. Good service. A small bistro in an older building on a leafy streets of older apartments a block off Denman. Character and a sense of being tucked away. The building might have been... More

After reading the reviews, I was looking forward to our dinner at Adesso Bistro but, sadly, was disappointed. We ordered one of the specials, ling cod, and ossobuco, a regular feature on the menu. Both of these choices were very ordinary and nothing special. The fish was topped with a sauce that seemed overcooked and mushy. The ossobuco was somewhat... More

This is a lovely, patron focused restaurant that is well worth the walk. Great service, atmosphere and attention. Food was better than anticipated and waiter well versed in wine pairing, menu and how to make the guest feel special. Many restaurants in Vancouver and I can definitely recommend Adesso for a quiet special couples night or as I did, a... More

I'm as comfortable sitting alone at the bar as I am with friends enjoying the outdoor patio. I've celebrated anniversaries, birthdays and a good game of tennis at this super friendly Italian restaurant. The pre fix is superb as is the pricing. Wine a little on the high side but that's Vancouver in general. I love the mushroom pizza appie plus... More

We went to the Adesso Bistro for dinner with friends as it was one of their favourites. It was easy to see why. We ate in the courtyard on a lovely warm evening and the service and food were excellent. They have a very nice selection of the usual Italian fare and a good wine list. I felt the prices... More

My husband and I liked our experience at Adesso for dinner, so much, that we went back again the following night! Adesso is very conveniently located near West End hotels and lodging, and is a pleasant ten-minute walk from English Bay. It is nestled among apartments and lodging on a quiet street with a footpath. One has the choice of... More

Group of 6 and we were treated very well. Waiter had a great sense of humor. Food was delicious from appetizer of the day (elk pasta) to main special (koho salmon). Great seafood

My husband and I had a fabulous meal the one night We had in Vancouver. We read the TA reviews and were expecting a good experience but were blown away. My husband had the clams in white sauce and I enjoyed the salmon special. Both were amazing. I was vascilating between the carrots that it came with and the cauliflower.... More

I had been wanting to try this & brought memories of countless nights at Delilahs in the 80's :) The caprese salad didn't look like the one in the pics .. It was ok but wouldn't order it again . The crispy fruitti di mare was pretty much calamari which was also ok .. The pasta was good .. The... More

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
