Rarely do you find a genuinely authentic sushi bar this good. The quality of the fish, the service and the ambiance made for a special evening. Owner Jean was a friendly and accommodating hostess and we had some of the best tasting sushi I’ve had in years! Felt like I was back in Hokkaido. Give it a try, must go.

Over the past 40 years I've enjoyed many sushi experiences! But this is the best quality I have ever had. I did take out as I had a busy day with business and when I opened my order, it actually didn't look so impressive. But wow. The house roll was made with real crab meat and had exactly the right about of 'stuffing' to rice. The next roll had local wild salmon with the skin on and crisped. Amazing. The young woman that helped me place my take out order was so patient and helpful and gave me green tea while I waited. The location is classic. Old school with autographs of celebs all over the walls. This will be staple for me on every future visit to Van. Seriously one of the best dining experiences I've ever had, making me remember not to judge a book by its cover. ;)

Recently while I was visiting Vancouver I went to Miko Sushi for lunch. I wasn't sure which sushi restaurant to go to but found Miko online with the recommendations being extremely good, and this information was definitely correct. The food was simply fabulous and the pricing extremely reasonable. As I was by myself I was seated at the end of the bar which I enjoyed tremendously as I was able to watch the sushi chefs in action, which in itself was fascinating and I learned some good tips, too. I ordered the lunch tempura and sushi pieces which came with soup and before tax it was about $14. To be honest I wasn't 100% sure how much food I would receive but for my appetite this was excellent value. For this order I received a mug of green tea, a bowl of miso soup (delicious) followed by two large dishes, stacked on each other, with the tempura pieces at the top and the sushi below (so good). Such high quality food for excellent value. The waitresses were extremely nice too, and I will definitely be dining at Miko Sushi when I am next in Vancouver. Excellent all round!!

As a person that eats sushi quite often, I have to say that Miko Sushi did not live up to the expectation that was set by the other Google reviews and reviews on Trip Advisor. I found that the food was overpriced, and the quality of food that I received did not match the prices they were charging. A lot of their regular menu items I tried to order like the Aji, Kanpachi and Hirame nigiri were unavailable. For the nigiri that I did manage to order- (tako, hirame, and sockeye) were extremely small and lacked their distinctive flavors. The waitress recommended that I try the "Hon-Toro" also known as the bluefin toro (one of the most expensive things on the menu) and to my surprise the fish had a strong after taste of cheese. With my experiences with blue fin tuna (maguro) the belly portion of the fish is supposed to be glistening, bright pinkish red and marbled with fat kind of like a steak. However what I received was a very anemic looking tuna with no marbling what so ever. Now in terms of things they did well... I would definitely recommend that people try the negitoro cone, the toro in the cone was fatty, juicy and glimmered as belly meat should. The tempura was also nice as well, the batter was crispy and held it's integrity all the way through. The softshell crab was alright but it wasn't anything too special. In terms of the customer service... The server that sat us down and her son were kind however, she failed to inform me of the food that unavailable when she placed my order. The other server looked like she was angry and when she filled our water, was quite heavy handed and made me quite uncomfortable. I personally would not recommend Miko Sushi to any of my friends. I feel like there are many other sushi places that serve much better quality fish and have those exotic or rare fishes that you won't find at regular or non authentic sushi places for way more affordable prices. 7 of us enjoyed a nice meal together. We ordered various Sashimi, rolls, unagi meal, and appetizers such as tofu too for the kids. Very good service. Make sure to make a reservation so not turned away.

Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of excellent Japanese restaurants run by other ethnicities but as a J-lander, I appreciate it when I can speak the language and know where their cooking influences come from. The quality of the fish was very good and their appetizers were prepared properly. It's a reasonably priced restaurant and has an old-school vibe to the decor, which I like. If you are looking for a boogee experience, this isn't it. I will definitely go back, the next time I am in town.

We have been going to Miko Sushi since the late 90's and this is one of those rare places where the quality of the food is always impeccable. We no longer live in Vancouver, but we do make a point of going to Miko Sushi every time because we are never disappointed. Fresh, beautifully prepared, and interesting variety. Please don't change and please don't close.

Sushi isn't just food, it's an experience. You want a cozy little place with friendly staff, chefs who take pride in their work, and a leisurely ambience that isn't pushing you through your meal. Miko Sushi is a rare gem of a restaurant. It never disappoints.

We come back for 20 years and can happily say that despite trying all around, Miko Sushi is certainly the best. The quality of the products is amazing. If you are looking for the best authentic and traditional sushi specialities, go there!

When I planned my first trip to Vancouver I knew I wanted to try sushi there. Trip adviser sent me here and it was delish! Just like I used to get in NYC when I was younger! Be sure to make a reservation. They are busy!

Nice atmosphere with good sushi quality, but nothing special. Prices are attractive, but you get what you pay for. Okay for everyday, but for a more exquisite experience with higher grade sushi, I would seek better other places.

Authentic atmosphere but food whatever. Used to be awarded by TripAdvisor in 2014, I would not recommend this place nowadays.

This was the Vancouver restaurant that was recommended the highest number of times in a Facebook travel group and I think it may have been the best sushi I have ever had.
