We were only in town 2 nights and got into Vancouver around 6 and started out looking for a dinner spot a couple of hours later. Lucky for us Kingyo had a table for 2 available! The ambiance was lovely. Decorated subtly for Halloween with...More

Went to this restaurant with my son last week. Greeting was very nice, food very good. The stone cooked beef was very good but the portion was quite small. Service was ok but spotty at times. Liked it very much but would try another restaurant...More

We wandered in just looking for Sashimi...and wow - what a discovery. this crowded bustling place delivers food and atmosphere. Ive sampled many Japanese restaurants and this is the best by far.the menu is distinct with dishes i’ve never had. all were beautiful and delicious....More

Went for lunch today and ordered the Tonkatsu - absolutely awesome quality. The service was great and am looking forward to trying it again as I've heard their limited edition bento's (10 a day) are excellent as well

The freshest sushi. Perfectly prepared. Delicious hot stone beef. Sublime black cod. Professional service. Great choice of sakes. Not an iota of pretense. Fair prices. In our view, this place has it all. Can't wait to return next time we get to Vancouver.

Great ambient, staff and food. The only but is that we tried calling to make a reservation and they said they don't take reservations. But when we got there there were many reservations... not sure why

There was a line in front 30 minutes before it opened on the weekend. We got the last two limited edition bento boxes of the day - they only make 10 available each day. It is well worth the wait. The bento boxes are well...More

West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines
verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with
Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a
paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and
perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most
languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset
Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to
take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along

It depends on your schedule, certain days, and how long you want to wait. My guess, and this is just a guess because I have only been here one time, is 15-30 minutes before they open.
