This local restaurant features an extensive menu of Chinese dishes. Food are great and not expensive. It is an excellent choice for family gathering and casual dinner with friends.

This was my worst dining experience in a Cantonese restaurant in Vancouver ever. We ordered 4 regular dishes and they were all below par. They serve dim sum over lunch.

We visited Golden Ocean for dim sum several weeks ago. The restaurant is pleasant, located on the second floor of a nondescript building facing 41st. We had a variety of dim sum. The food is good with a nice selection. The prices are reasonable. I must admit to being spoiled by the number and variety of dim sum restaurants here... More

I ordered a prawn dish. There were about five tiny prawns. I would have expected more prawns. The staff were not impressed when I pointed it out.

I was taken to Golden Ocean by an Asian friend, who reputed this restaurant as one of the most authentic in town. We had Dim Sum and I was literally blown away by the quality of the food! Highly recommended!

This place is always packed so if you want to have a good dim sum with little waiting time, come somewhere after 1:00pm.

The service was swift and efficient with carts and wait staff carrying trays of piping hot, fresh from the kitchen goodies. We had all the standards such as shrimp siu mai, and the not so standard but still delectable steamed chicken feet, and perfect stir fried long bean shoots. Everything we ordered was excellent. It cost us $25 per person,... More

We had a large party at Golden Ocean Seafood Restaurant for dinner recently. It was a Sunday night and the restaurant was fairly busy but I suspect that's usually the case. From the time we ordered until the first dish arrived it was about a half-hour. The dishes arrived in fairly good time then except it took at least another... More

Staying in Kerrisdale

Neighbourhood Profile
Kerrisdale is Vancouver's laid-back shopping district. In contrast to Robson Street, there is more on offer, at more competitive pricing and a slower pace. Called "The Village" colloquially, over 200 storefronts and one-off shops crowd its streets with products and services. It is set in a comparatively sleepy part of town, with tasteful homes and tree-lined walks. Many of its buildings are listed on the Heritage registry, making it a wonderful place to amble and take in the visual history. Moreover, Kerrisdale's healthy consumer culture is especially apt for those interested in culinary, specialty, or children's shops, boasting more of these than anywhere else, meaning that it's a busy spot for families and hobbyists on the weekends.
