Had very high expectation. Ordered Caesar salad and fish-and-chips. Fairly disappointed at the food. My wife’s tenderloin was just ok only. Nice deco for a hotel restaurant.

I enjoy taking Helijet over from Victoria to do some quality shopping in Vancouver. Yew Seafood + Bar has always been a favorite to stop by and enjoy a well made refreshment and recharge. Great Service by Excellent Staff with a Outstanding Bartender! Thanks Jack!

We booked Yew and asked for a "private room" and were told they had such a space. When we arrived (a group of 24 of us) we were brought to a space - not private - at the back of the restaurant. It was loud and there were other patrons in the restaurant who were sitting only 10 feet away... More

We had breakfast at this restaurant. The kids had plenty of options, and our food was excellent. I wish we stayed longer so we could enjoy a dinner at this restaurant.

We sat at the long table by the fireplace and it was a special place for a family celebration. Our waiter, Julian, was the best and very helpful choosing our dishes. The only problem I had was that it was rather noisy, even though our reservation was for 8 pm

Our first night stay in Vancouver was made extra special by the incredible staff for Yew and the dining experience they created. We started with the tuna tartare which was good to share but nothing special. I then had the Lobster bisque which really showed how special this restaurant is. For the main dish I had the salmon and we... More

My wife, sister and I stopped in here for a few Christmas cocktails while exploring downtown Vancouver. The staff/service was amazing. My wife has celiacs disease and can't have any gluten. They had a gluten free menu, that included fried items like chips and fries. They did tell us that other glutinous items are fried in the same fryer, however,... More

The name of this restaurant implies that it is Asian, but they serve everything from breakfast to dinner. I had the best coffee and fresh-pressed juices for breakfast and my husband's breakfast sandwich was the best I've ever tasted. The servers at Yew were the most friendly and helpful you can imagine. The bartender gave us more information about places... More

The meal was superbly presented, the watercress cream with the salmon was unbelievably good. My wife had the scallops which was also excellent. We very much enjoyed the waite staff and their attentiveness. The Yew has a large wine selection, so we imbibed with a bottle of a light proseco sparkling wine, which was recommended by the staff. We both... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
Vancouver's business district, the Downtown area is bustling with smartly-dressed folks balancing their lattes and briefcases to and from work. The area's plethora of contemporary commercial, residential, and corporate spaces has bred a landscape of nouveau restaurants, chain cafes, and upmarket shopping options. However, located right on the waterfront of Vancouver's energetic Harbour, Downtown is a also popular public meeting spot, with a massive public library and convention center attracting a bevy of visitors both local and not, as well as a hotspot for the arts, being home to some of Vancouver's most cutting-edge galleries. With behemoth architecture and a professional air, Downtown means business.
