We were looking forward to having dinner at Rodney's and we were not disappointed. We had the lobster poutine and fried oysters. Everything was full of flavour and cooked perfectly. Welcoming service and great food. Will definitely be back here again.

Rodney's is a busy restaurant with great ambience and service. We love oysters and had the blue point (lovely salty flavour) and a new one 'paradise cove' oysters that were sweet and lovely. The paradise cove oyster has a deep, fluted shell that is thin...like an egg shell. Rodney's also make their own hot sauces and wisely, they are not killer hot as sea food needs a more delicate touch. The steamed clams were also great. Unfortunately, our trip was over and we left Vancouver the next day.More

You can’t go wrong with fresh seafood! We started with a couple dozen fresh oysters. Super fresh and nothing wrong with getting them during their happy hour. Loved their selection of hot sauces along with the horseradish. Deep fried calamari with some freshly sliced jalapeños....Crispy, delicious with just the right crunch of spice to offset the deep fried goodness. Of course we have to have their lobster rolls although it’s on a brioche bun instead. A perfect complement with the buttery and sweet bread. Last was their mussels. This might be my favourite as the blend of brininess along with the fresh herbs was a fantastic duo.More

We were originally going to go to the Gastown location as it was closer to our accommodations. We were sad to see it was closed Mon/Tues. Checked the hours of this location, and were so happy to see it was open. Quick Uber ride and...we were here. We had the crab cakes, panfried oysters, and garlic prawns. The panfried oysters were the most delicious and the best deal. The service was not great, but the food was excellent.More

During our stay prior to our cruise we visited the yaletown location of Rodney's. I am a 30 year visitor of the original Toronto location and the king west location. This is a great spot and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 visits. It can get...noisy and there is a lot of action. As usual the oysters were spot on. The other dishes we sampled were delicious. Big fans of the chowders as well. The main concern is that it is real dark and feels a little dingy. This needs some work to improve the vibe, hence the 4 star review.More

Found this place when looking for seafood. It happens that we were coming from the airport to the waterfront via the public train when I found this place. I had no idea Yaletown was a place. And to find this place, oh my. The 80s...sound track felt like home. The oysters were fantastic. The presentation of them couldn’t beat anywhere I’ve ever been. Hostess, thank you for fitting us in!More

We ate at Rodney's during a small business trip. The food really was great and the service was fast and very helpful. The only criticisms I do have were the music was very loud and difficult to talk but we may have just chosen the...wrong place for this type of meal. Secondly they have a very limited bar. This wasn't a high problem but our group wanted cocktails and due to this were unable. All in all I definitely would recommend Rodney's. Everything I ate was well presented and tasted amazing.More

1 Firstly, I did not eat to sea food. My Fellow patrons ate a lot of oysters but I had the rib eye steak which was just okay. I prefer the steak I grill at home. The fries were limp. Beer was fine. Prices high....Very noisy.More

I was looking forward to sample B.C. oysters, but needed a restaurant with a big enough menu to accommodate my boyfriend who isn't an oyster fan. Enter Rodney's ! We were staying near Yaletown and it popped up on trip advisor when looking for seafood...in the area. We didn't book ahead, and the restaurant was quite busy (properly one of the busiest restaurant we've seen during our stay in B.C.), but the hostess found a small table near the entrance. It turned out actually perfectly, we were distanced enough from other tables to hear each other speak, (perhaps because of the pandemic, we aren't used to tables so close together anymore!), had a fresh breeze from the entrance and a nice view of the bar and the oyster. The server was very friendly as well and while I like oyster, I'm in no way an expert and he suggest a starting platter which I was pleased with. It may seem weird, but the B.C. oyster have very pretty shells compared to others and they were very "meaty"/chunky. The sauce provided were also good and could accommodate different taste/level of spiciness. Now for the food, my boyfriend had the crab cakes which were chunky, crispy and good. I indulge in the seafood pasta - it really the kind of dish you can enjoy at restaurant as preparing all the different components can be long. And this one was very good - and generous on the seafood ! - the scallops especially were nice and tender and the sauce was spicy, but not too much. The tomato based sauce was also nicely balanced (not too acidic). To conclude our meal, we were tempted with a cake we shared. All in all, a pleasant evening. We would recommend for a more "special" meal of local seafood (for oyster lovers, but also for those joining them !)More

We are not big oyster eaters so the rating reflects the rest of the menu we tried. We had clam chowder (New England style) and it was really good - loaded with clams and simply delicious. We also had potato crusted halibut and it was...tasty but not outstanding. Oysters Rockafella were too fishy for my taste and could have benefited from a few more seconds of baking. Overall, we had really good time as this is a happening type of a place.More

Since we did not reserve a table, the matter of reservations should be directed to the restaurant. I don't recall seeing a children's menu, but the full menu was available during Happy Hour.
