A nice dinner ruined by a billing issue and an unresponsive assistance manager

We bought a buy-up for one of their dinner offerings and made our reservations on Sunday Nov. 26th. The dinner itself was fine as was the attention and service from our server. Upon receiving the bill, they failed to apply the voucher for our buy-up...and I ended up paying the full amount. Our server caught this and brought in their assistant manager (Kevin Curley) to cancel the transaction so we can redo it. However Kevin was unable to do so, stating the payment terminal was lock out and assured use that he would have the credit applied for my payment the following day (Monday Nov. 27th). He also took a photo of our voucher and receipt and asked we follow-up via email with images of both and provided his business card. So far so good I thought, so I sent the email to Kevin Monday Nov. 27th as requested. Its now, Dec. 6th, and after 3 email follow ups and 2 calls to restaurant I've still not received a single reply or call back let alone the promised refund. Would expect more from a restaurant of this caliberMore

Average food and inconsistent service

Had 2 recent experiences at Glowbal, the first being terrible and the second better, so averaging out. The server for the first one (Tyson) was haughty, arrogant and pretentious, and the steak was very chewy and sinewy, and needed to be replaced. The server for...the second evening was better given feedback given on the previous experience. Dishes were lukewarm, and noticed that a lot of the servers seemed very new and needed more training. Eg, no utensils were provided for several dishes and on one of the nights, some plates were broken when dropped. Personally wouldn’t go back, can get better food and service elsewhere.More

Great Food, Great Vibe at Global

My wife and I arrived in Vancouver after a long day of three flights, and we were looking for a comfortable place to eat. I had done some research and found that Glowbal might be just a spot. We were not disappointed. It has a...great vibe, and we were fortunate enough to be cared for by Trina Moran. We were impressed with the number of wines by the glass on the list and had a couple in mind and she not only brought over the two we were thinking about to try but a third. After tasting, we decided on two different glasses. During the course of the evening, I wanted to try something different and she suggested a glass that was not even on the list from the local area and it was quite good. Not only that, at the conclusion of our meals she brought us a glass of port, which is made in British Columbia from Syrah. This was very unique and quite timely, since we had just returned from Portugal, where we had enjoyed port tastings across the country. The food was quite good especially the truffled spaghetti and meatballs. However, the experience was really special because of the service Trina provided.More

Excellent service and ambience!

Very elegant ambiance and excellent service all around from our waitress Susan and the bartending/support staff. The food and drinks were excellent and it was a great spot for date night!

Very nice place for dinner

I came here for a birthday celebration dinner. The restaurant is in a great location, right across the street from The Bay downtown, so can be easily accessed via the Skytrain. As the weather was nice, we were seated outside. The décor is well appointed...with beautiful flowers and lighting. The ambiance is upscale and intimate. The food and drinks were beautifully presented and delicious, although pricey. The food is mostly west- coast type of dishes. A lot of good, fresh fish was on the menu. The cocktails were on point and not watered down. I really enjoyed this place and would come back again.More

Second chance!

We had excellent service from Melody! She was efficient & courteous and friendly. Her serving skills were top! The meal/wine was amazing and we (family of 5) enjoyed dinner/location of the table also in a more private setting. Thank you Glowbal much improved since 20...family members were there in April and it was no comparison!More

Great dinner experience, Adam was a superstar

We went for the $120 four course meal for 2 last night, the meal was fastastic and good value for the price. Adam was our server he was amazing, kind and genuine. He was so attentive and caring and really took pride in what he...do. We don't drink alcohol and we offered 2 mocktail options for us and both were great. He noticed my husband didn't like the soup and offered to get him another kind of soup. His attention to details really make a difference. It was a very nice dinner and Adam made the whole experience even more memorable! Congrats Glowbal in having a superstar stuff like Adam he is a true asset to your company!More

Will definitely be back!

This was the first time I have experienced Glowbal & I will definitely be back. Our waiter, Brody, was so welcoming! He made our experience tonight - he made impeccable recommendations for wine & food. The overall experience was so amazing.

Great Lunch Spot!

Glowbal is our favourite lunch spot before a matinee at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. The food is always great and they have no difficulty accommodating my garlic allergy (Greens and Prawns are my favourite). Brody was our server and apparently this was his first day...at Glowbal and we were his first guests but obviously this wasn't his first rodeo! Brody provided excellent service, was very friendly, professional and had a great sense of humour. We look forward to seeing him again at our next visit to Glowbal!More

Adequate. Not outstanding.

The server Adam was great. The food was fine, very limited menu though. It is close to the Queen Elizabeth theatre so it is convenient for before or after a performance snack

Amazing service & food!

Absolutely loved the place! It’s so cute and welcoming 🙃 Brody was a total delight! So kind, helpful and fun! Recommend, 100%!!! It was my first time visiting Vancouver and this place definitely showed how good the food department is at vancity! 😍
