Great tonkastu ramen! Came here with my daughter for the first time as it was on the "to do" list. Glad we ended up waiting in the line! About 30 minutes but it was worth it. Got seated and we ordered their special tonkatsu ramen....You can customize your noodles and broth which was fun. Mine was a little spicier with the chili sauce on top. We upgraded to the gyozas as well. Still inexpensive and oh so tasty! Definitely worth the wait out on the sidewalk. We weren't rushed either so a great experience. When we walked out the line was even longer!More

We intended to go to Danbo but they had a long queue outside and apparently have this every day. This tells me they are excellent, but honestly who wants to queue, we didn't. So, sadly we didn't experience what gave them their rave reviews. Maybe...next time I'm in town they'll have bigger premises and we can indulge ourselves.More

We had been recommended this place by family as well as by the internet. Be prepared for a line out the door to wait as they do not seat you until there is a table available. They do have complimentary umbrellas if you are stuck...out in the rain which was nice. They also have a server come down the line to give you a paper and a pencil to write your order. It is basically build your own ramen bowl with tonkatsu broth. We waited 40 minutes outside in line before we were sat. You get sat inside. Be aware that the tables are very close next to each other and therefore you will be close to another party. The server was quick to take our order and give us water glasses. The ramen arrived relatively quickly. We decided to share one and it is definitely sharable. They brought an extra bowl out for me which was nice. We did the lunch special that came with a side and we chose the pork and rice side. It was so good!! We chose medium spicy level on the ramen and it was spicy! The spicy lover of the two of us liked it. The other one of us has a decent spice tolerance but it was still a little much for me. Overall there was a good amount of broth, noodles, and topping. The broth was rich. Next time we are in Vancouver we will come back, but maybe try a less spicy version and those potsticker sides look great as well!More

We are tourists in Vancouver. A local tour group recommended us this place. The first time we saw this establishment, we were deterred by the queue length to get in. The second time, we thought why not wait in-line. We arrived at about 5.30pm and...were seated at around 6.05pm on a Sunday. We were given a piece of paper- the menu whilst waiting in the queue. You can choose your type of ramen ie. classic, seasonal etc. Then pick your ramen type- thick or thin/standard, select how rich you like your broth, bear in mind the richness is based on amount of lard in the soup. How you would like your ramen cooked - soft, firm, very firm; how spicy you want your ramen. Lastly pick your toppings eg. Egg (thoroughly recommend). For every topping selected, there is a charge eg. $2 for egg; standard nori sheets $1.75. Select your sides - gyoza, rice etc all roughly costing $5+. When you are seated in the restaurant, the wait staff will ask for your complete menu selection and confirm with you all that you have selected. It’s a very speedy process. Understandably they need to be efficient as the queue to get in, is unquestionably long. I come from Australia, the cost of a bowl of ramen is circa $15+- pending where you go and toppings are all part of the meal, no extra costs. Today, we paid roughly $70 CAD for 3 bowls of ramen & 2 gyoza plates inc tips at a restaurant that without doubt lacks ambience, food is good & wait staff are friendly. Come for the experience, otherwise you may feel you’ve missed out and make your own judgement call.More

Really tasty pork noodles with a bowl of extra noodles to make the best of the sauce. With plenty of options to get the spice levels just right we all got our preference.

Ramen is great and tasty but the line is too long. Worth going but with that line up I would just go somewhere else there are many choices in the area

There are several Ramen places in Vancouver and I never went to Danbo because of the line up. Friends visiting from out of town had it on their must try list. So we took a few cold beers and lineup on Robson. It took about...25 min. As you get closer, they provide some self serve menu / order sheet and pencils. Basically you fill in what you want, so somewhat a La carte. I had the regular with spices, added eggs, pickled veggies, rich broth and thin noodles. All of those are options. In conclusion, they are good, especially if you are vegetarian. I still don’t like the lineupsMore

The ramen is very tasty, this is not my first time go there. But you have to line up waiting the seat a bit long.

The previous night I had ramen at Horin-Tonkatsu, across from the Blue Horizon hotel. So tonight I thought I would compare Danbo....well there was no comparison. Danbo's broth barely had any pork flavour and was way too salty. Their noodles were not great either, but...the eggs were very good. Overall, I would say Horin had fantastic broth, tastier pork slices and also came with bean sprout. Horin's noodles were slightly better than Danbo. I have to find a place that makes homemade noodle; these were more like the instant kind out of a package.More

Found one of my favorite ramen shops in Seattle while walking in Vancouver BC! The weather was cold & rainy so a ramen stop is always a great idea. The Negi bowl was fantastic! And the ambiance was cozy & the service was no frills...efficient, just the way I like my ramen shops. Definitely stop in & try a bowl.More

My daughter is vegan and loves ramen so we were recommended this place because they have a vegan section on their menu. It's very casual and we had to wait in line for a while but it was definitely worth it. You can customise your...ramen exactly the way you want it and everything we tried was delicious and very inexpensive.More

Well worth the wait in the queue. Really good Japanese ramen. Great to have various options to tailor the ramen to your tastes. Wife also tried the vegetarian version and reckoned it was better than the normal Tonkotsu version! Prices very reasonable for Vancouver and...took advantage of the ability to order extra noodles if the standard portion ramen is not enough for a reasonable 1CAD for half or just 2CAD for a full. So popular that at 9.30pm in the evening there was still a short queue and wait to get in! Can see why it is so popular. Would happily return if we visit Vancouver again.More

Delicious and authentic. Crowded and popular spot. Very casual and quick service. The classic chashu-men can be adapted to taste...my traditional bowl plus added egg was so so tasty!

Excellent ramen. We tried several different things on our 2 trips here. Everything was flavourful and just the right amount of spicy. Service is attentive and, even on a busy evening, prompt.
