The one thing I like about Solly's is the warm soup and good sandwiches, however, every time I walk in, I am reminded why I go to it less and less. The place is looking very run down. Most of the seats are torn, with the stuffing showing through. Also, the owner places advertising on the windows along the bar... More

Parking is a real challenge in this neighborhood. I visited Solly's Jewish deli for a lunch of a hot corned beef on rye and a cup of coffee, and a magnificent lunch it was.

Their cottage cheese muffins are one of the best Jewish bakery items in Canada. I say that because our cousins from Toronto, a city full of delis and bakeries, love them so much that we bring in boxes of these muffins when we visit. Be sure to get them when they are fresh out of the oven, around 1pm or... More

I LOVE cinnamon buns and I think that Solly's fall under the best of 2 in the city. Layer upon layers of yummy delight. I also enjoy their 'mishmash' bagel - hint of saltiness and savory. Whenever I am near one of their locations, I always pop in for one of these two items and sometimes for both! It does... More

I come by every once in a while because they have the best cinnamon buns in town. There are a lot of other things to eat but this is my favorite.

Maybe because we don't frequent Vancouver or it's my Jewish nature, I found it a little pricey for bowl of soup, Latke & Lox, sweet potato knish, cottage cheese muffin, tea and coffee. Total $28 for the two of us. My wife was OK with it, though! I'm actually half joking as I know rental rates are not cheap in... More

Come for the bagels, knish and apfel strudel! Also serving coffee at this cozy establishment with seating. And take some of their chicken soup home with you on your way out!

Solly's has been around for some time, quite a few years actually. They serve delicious bagels, good soup and various other tasty food items from the Jewish style kitchen. Always people there, friendly to kids with toys to roam around in. They even have a few parking spots for guests in a garage around the corner. Price-wise it is very... More

Had the cream cheese bagel - delicious; and shared a cinnamon bun - absolutely huge but also very good. Nice atmosphere in local neighbourhood

Neighbourhood Profile
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
