We order 20 gourmet pizzas for our student recruitment night. The pizzas were awesome with so many excellent kinds. The boxes also came with some slices of lemon so you could squeeze them on your chicken pizza, etc. Tasty, hot, and delicious. The pizza price fit our budget as well. I am very happy to recommend this pizzeria for delivery,... More

It's nice when you have a great surprise when you choose a restaurant. We were looking for tasty pizza cooked in a wood fire oven. We got what we were looking for and more. Judging from the patrons lined up for take out I now know why. We can walk to this cozy little restaurant or you can reach it... More

Compared to other pizza places, I find that Firewood Cafe's pizza is always more generous with ingredients. I have been ordering them for years and find the pizzas consistently well made and extremely tasty. I think the wood burning oven adds so much flavour. They are delivered piping hot. I couldn't ask for more. But I did. I tried their... More

We're not sure why some people think this is the best pizza in Vancouver?? Really? Average tasting pizza with minimal toppings. Ours was on the dry side and lacking flavor. I had the shrimp pesto that was supposed to have smoked Gouda etc and could not taste the flavor. There was one piece of shrimp on each slice. The chicken... More

Wood fired oven that's been there for 25 years. Hand tossed dough, good sauce, original topping ideas. Best pizza I've found in Vancouver.

We've been customers for years now and still appreciate their unique taste. Definitely a cut above the usual delivery franchises like Domino's and Panago, but don't expect the gourmet level of higher-end pizzerias in Vancouver like Lombardo's, Via Tevere, Bibo, etc. The crust is on the thin, crisp side and toppings are always fresh and more sophisticated than the standard... Crust was perfect. Toppings were generous A niece ordered fettuccine which I tasted and while she was content I thought it was very bland and the sauce too heavy. Good server. A reasonable, if higher than typical, price. We'll go again.

Never again. Four of us went for dinner. The Greek salad had zero taste. Ordered two large pies. At the end of the meal we found a hair on the second to last slice. I brought it to the server/cashier. She brought it to the two owners who were making the pizza. One has a shaved head so we all... More

We waited an hour and a half for two pizzas. They were cold-to-lukewarm. Not worth the wait or the price. It might be better to eat in, but I probably won't eat here again.

Staying in Shaughnessy

Neighbourhood Profile
Shaughnessy
Residential neighbourhood to the ultra-wealthy, the gorgeous manor houses centred around The Crescent area are a fabled sight to behold. Shaughnessy is Vancouver's most verdant plotted neighbourhood, and its tree-lined streets, walking routes, bike trails, and charming public parks make for an ideal location to spend and afternoon communing with nature. Consequently, it is also the botanical centre of the city, featuring conservatories and an expansive Botanical Garden, taming and sculpting the wild into seasonal viewing areas and enchanting landscapes. Quiet, elegant Shaughnessy excels at providing the Three Gs: Gardens, Golfing, and Galleries.
