Went out with friends and had a table with a nice view of the marina. I ordered the Harissa Marinated Humboldt Squid. It resembled rubber as it was tough and chewy. So, basically had 3 squares of polenta for dinner. We also ordered the Panko...Lingcod & Chips. The fish was excellent--flaky and not greasy although the chips were not crispy. Came here with friends last night and what a delightful place for dinner. Despite arriving with five mins to spare when they close the kitchen (at 8pm), we managed to order food and drinks. I shared a bottle of Pinot with GF whilst our hubbies...had wine and beer. Hubby's tenderloin was succulent and my grilled tuna was cooked to perfection. Love their sliced roasted potatoes as well. The Marina has always been one of our favourite dining spots; ,great food , lovely ambience and excellent service . On this occasion we were let down badly by a substandard roast turkey dinner my wife ordered for her birthday . The Marina has a prime location in Oak Bay. Interior is very traditional "Yacht Club Style" but very pleasant with great open view towards the Bay. Service excellent, and very helpful with "spot on" recommendations. If you allow yourself occasionally with "deep fried" stuff, the..."panko crusted onion rings" with a delicious dip are probably the best onion rings you ever had as an appetizer. Another highlight was the "House smoked Seafood Trio" also a shared starter. Main course selections are limited but of superb quality, especially the Waguye Cheddar Burger, which was just the right portion, cooked to perfection and simply great.More

I can honestly say the service I received was the worst service I have ever received; I’ve received far better service from a fast food restaurant. Four things I can easily point out that were unexpected and could have been handled better; reluctance to allow...a sample of two wines sold by the glass, but also the bottle (was purchasing a bottle); was brought extra napkins to clean up a spill at the table, and was watched as we cleaned the table ourselves; never did clear the dishes, so we enjoyed the last 1/2 bottle of wine with our dirty dishes covering the table; server wore her mask under her chin the entire evening. All this said, the sushi was very good. I would consider ordering sushi takeout, but would never dine in again.More

Beautiful view with service and food to match. Highly recommended this restaurant. Been many times and always teared like family. And the view is unparalleled.

Not a good visit to the Oakbay marina restaurant, you would think this restaurant is classy and customer service goes above and beyond!!! Not when the servers forget to bring you water or cutlery or that matter the food it’s all over the dish bowl....Not very impressed at all, I mean unless you are having sushi only two meals or 3 meals on the menu that has fish...like why it is call a “marina” restaurant if they don’t even have on the menu fancy fish meals... it should just be sushi bar, or Japanese restaurant!!!??? I mean, look at this presentation of food!!? Terrible! And the music sucks, nothing classy at all to say about this place!More

We have not dined at the Marina for a year. Covid seems to have taken its toll. The atmosphere appeared dumbed down. We were surprised to see fellow diners wearing ball caps in what had once been a fine dining establishment. The menu is quite...limited now and while the food was tasty enough, portions are not huge. Overall rather disappointing.More

Another great evening at the Marina! It’s been a few years, and we’ve always enjoyed the beautiful room, good food and service. With Covid, the room atmosphere is even more open, half the usual tables, giving a very private and privileged feel to our booth....The menu, like any smart restaurant these days, is scaled down, but adequately varied. We enjoyed some of the best tasting wild salmon and perfectly presented tenderloin. Andrea, our server, was knowledgeable, very pleasant, and our overall experience was fantastic. Why had we not gone out again sooner? Strongly suggest anyone thinking about going out for dinner just do it. Our restaurants need and deserve our support. And the Marina is doing a great job of balancing customer care, with a great dining experience.More

The place itself is rather nice, spacious with a nice view of the ocean and marina. The food though is rather average and disappointing for the standards of such a restaurant.

This is a fabulous restaurant and it's location on the water is very beautiful and romantinc. We were there for my wife's birthday dinner and we were not disappointed! Wonderful selections, and a friendly and efficient staff make this a must visit if you are...in the area.More
