We ordered caesar salad with chicken and calamari. Both were not up to any even minimal standard of preparation. The calamari was very rubbery and tasteless. The salad was not put together, instead laid on a board for the patron to attempt to cut up and assemble. The chicken was in large chunks, dry and stringy. There were a few... More

Four of us ate a late lunch here on Sat Mar 11/17. Three of us had the grilled cheese sandwich. This is not just a grilled cheese, this is some kind of invention that will make you want to go back the next day and the next and the next! It's on sourdough bread, I think it was brie and... More

Decor is excellent. Had typical pub food and all were most acceptable fare. Yes it might be a little pricey, but they had one of my favorite BC wines, Note Bene on their list which elevated the place instantly. That and atmosphere alone gives it top marks.

Loved this place, the service, the food, beer selection, staff. Busy at evenings with live music. Make sure to save room for icecream next door afterwards.

I ordered the Moscow mule, which was delicious! But I highly recommend ordering the grilled cheese sandwich. So yummy! There was live music on a Wednesday night. Good atmosphere with a lively crowd.

This place never disappoints. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile taken to our table and received great service even though our server was very busy. The food is very good. This is a must go place for locals and visitors to Victoria.

We stopped in for some pints & appies on a rainy March day and snagged a table by the fire in the back. The front half has a soaring ceiling, lots of wood & brass, but at the back not only does the fire make it cozy, you can explore the historical photographs & stories and poems by Robert Service,... this review is coming from a fellow server. the hostesses number one priority is to make guests feel welcomed. one brunette girl did a great job of this, and made small talk with me as she showed me to my table. the other, blonde, didn't so much as smile, but managed to ask for my ID and let the nice... Dear Valued Guest, I am extremely disappointed that your visit with us was completely lacking a warm and welcoming greeting followed by a amazing dining experience. I apologize, that is not the standard that we strive for. I would very much appreciate more details on your experience. If you could contact me personally at tromanow@vicpubco.ca, I would love the opportunity... More

The inside of the pub is beautiful with loads of interesting photos around the life of Robert Service. However the restaurant has the feel of a corporate restaurant, and the prices are eye-watering. Our server was good but her service was not up to the menu prices charged. While the menu selection is varied, Fish and Chips are $20 with... More
