It’s interesting walking down the hallways to get to the Legislative Dinning Room. There are historical pictures along the way and on the walls in the restaurant. The staff were attentive, friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our lunch and it was affordable. Soup, salad,...fish and desserts were all delicious!! We are already looking forward to our next meal here when we come back to visit Victoria! It’s a fairly small, cozy and quaint restaurant so best to make a reservation.More

My sister took me here in 2018 and I couldn’t wait to take my wife this visit. Exceptional service, great food and super prices. History abounds in where you are dining.

Really good food and great prices. You should have at least one meal at this dining room when you are in Victoria. We had the lunch specials; steak and veggies and salmon teriyaki. A beer, a coffee and a dessert, all for $50. The wait...staff are very friendly and the service is very good. You do have to book lunch well ahead of time, at least a day ahead. They have a controlled entrance where you give them your ID and they give you a visitor pass. This is returned when you hand in your pass. Breakfast is also available, with no need to book ahead when we were there.More

If you have the opportunity, reserve a table here for a meal. The food is very good, but the place itself is the big attraction. It’s the BC Provincial Legislature, after all! Prices reasonable. Worth the effort.

Had really been looking forward to our lunch here, but surprisingly, the food (we both had the teriyaki salmon) was pretty bad. To be fair, the service was excellent and both our starters (garden salad, curried lentil soup) were good, but the salmon entree spoiled...things. Fish was dry, rice was dry and sauce had an overly sweet “out of a jar” taste…. Too bad, the atmosphere is pretty cool hereMore

Relatives from out of town wanted to dine here for lunch and asked us to join. Lovely setting. Our waiter was Shane, new to the serving staff there. We recieved excellent service and he answered all our questions about the menu. Food was excellent and...a good size portion. We enjoyed Montreal smoked meat sandwiches with fries. Choice of soup or salad if you prefer. Chicken and Brie burger. Cod loin. the restaurant is licenced so we chose local Beer and cider to complement the meal. We had to try dessert. We had chocolate cake and lemon meringue pie. Both delicious. Will have to try breakfast. Don't forget to make a reservation and bring your government photo ID. A dignitary from a foreign country and his entourage happened to be dining there also.More

I found the Legislative Dining Room while exploring dining options for Victoria online during our recent visit. We decided to head over for Breakfast one morning and the meal was absolutely delicious. On our way out, the delightful and friendly security staff noticed we are...from California and asked what were were doing for Thanksgiving later that week. We had no plans as of yet and he quickly shared the dining room had an American Thanksgiving meal available. We made reservations right away and were thrilled to enjoy a second, holiday meal here. Pilar was our server and was so wonderful and attentive. We can't recommend enough to enjoy this wonderful and historical place to dine. Enjoy!More

The Parliamentary Dining Room of the BC Legislature in Victoria is extraordinary and unique! The quality of the food and the imagination behind the offerings is outstanding. The experience is a throwback to grand dining of the mid 20th century combined with the best of...modern elements. From the white table clothes and monogramed dishes to the dignified professional servers (who do not pretend to be your best friend as in too many restaurants), the focus is on the client and the excellent food. The prices are relatively low and there is sufficient variety to encourage multiple visits. The dining room serves only breakfast and lunch; reservations are required but can be short notice. You will have to go through security (use the Mowat entrance on the right side of the building) but that process and the trek though the tunnels to get to the restaurant make the experience unique. Security gives you a badge to return when leaving. Don't pass on the lunch desserts! Our meal and visit here was one of our most enjoyable and memorable ever!More

On a recommendation, we booked in the morning for lunch the same day. The restaurant is siutated in a warren below the Parliament Building. Security check bags and photo ID on entry. With white table cloths, traditional furnishings and blcak & white photos on the...wall the Dining Room exudes old workd charm. The menu, with several specials, is less expensive than other full service places. Our Black and Blue Burger ($14.95) and Steak Sandwich (£16.95), both with fries, were excellent. Large glasses of BC wines were also reasonably priced.More

This wonderful Legislative dining room is filled with tradition, charm and serves delicious meals. We enjoyed breakfast so much that we booked lunch again for the last day of our stay. The meals are well prepared, the presentation is beautiful and the food delicious. The...prices are most reasonable. On both visits we were lucky to have Kirsten as our server. She was very knowledgeable about the menu, and very attentive to our needs. It is evident that she loves Victoria, and made us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend this dining room. Make a reservation!More
