We walked by the Legislature on the way back to our hotel and noticed there was a menu for the Legislative dining room, AND a person ready to take our order. The reason I've never ordered from them before is because a) I've never been...an MLA staffer and b) it's only open during the week--and I only visit on weekends. Thank goodness we finally connected! Unfortunately, you can only order to go because of Covid-19, so I ordered a clubhouse sandwich with a salad, and it was probably the best clubhouse I've had in years! All the ingredients were fresh, and you can taste the quality in every bite. I don't know if my tax dollars support the restaurant, but if it is, it's money well spent. Thanks!More

Excellent meal & service here! We had a couple hours free and thought we would try this hidden jewel on a weekday. The only distractions are, it really is hidden, they hours opened (reservations a must!) & the security to get in the legislature. The...hostess & waiter were top notch. The food was simply the best. My wife had Salisbury Steak with Mashed potatoes and veggies. I had the Steak & prawns with roasted potatoes. Suffice it to say the kitchen knows how to cook. For desert we had a very tasty lemon meringue. When we finished I asked the waiter, his favourite meal was the salmon, which we will try next visit. Believe me we will go here again. I would normally not submit such a glowing review because the next time we visit it will be super crowded!More

We were in Victoria in Jan this year coming from Whisterl and on our Way to Seattle. But has luck would have it it dumped snow so our trip to the Butchart gardens as a no go. So we settled on the BC Museum (really...good by the way) and lunch here. The food was really good, the ambiance reminded me of old parliament house in Canberra and the service was friendly and helpful. It was really an unexpected but great family meal , high quality food and a very reasonable price.More

This restaurant is in the BC Legislature (Government) building and is not well known. It is quiet, well priced and the food and service are good. The menu is somewhat limited but adequate.

This is the second Christmas I decided to have breakfast here in this unique setting. It was really charming with the Christmas tree in the dining room, Christmas decorations and lovely Christmas music on the stereo. The special on the menu was the salmon & goat...cheese omelette. People at another table nearby raved about how delicious it was. I had the yummy oatmeal with fruit, toast and coffee.....it was great! Loved the atmosphere, loved the price and appreciate the friendliness right from the security guard who welcomes you with a guest badge.....to the servers in this restaurant. It seemed that no reservation needed for breakfast, lots of space.More

I found about Legislative Dining Room when I was searching for breakfast places in Victoria, BC. The fact that I could be in the parliament building and eat there was appealing to me. In order to enter and pass the security we had to provide...a picture ID and exchange it with a pass. Then we passed couple of hallways to get to the dining room. If it wants for Xmas decorations, it is just a simple place with very simple furnitures. But the service and the food was delicious. I recommend this place for its experience.More

We have been enjoying meals at the BC Legislature Dining Room for over a year (one of Victoria's best kept secrets) and have returned a few times. Always great!
