My two out of five rating comes from one dish (the Spicy Lemongrass soup) being quite good (a '4), and the other----a pork vermicelli dish being barely edible. And since virtually all Vietnamese restaurants are excellent.....anything that isn't is 'below average'. Does that make sense?...Anyway, I enjoyed the soup.....and appreciated the option of sweetening it with hoisin sauce. Maybe a touch oily.....but definitely tasty, and the beef was pretty good. However that pork and vermicelli rice noodle dish was, according to my partner who ordered it 'gross'. I tasted some of the pork that came with it (it was like undercooked but very old bacon) and I agreed. I know it was late in the day, but how they can get away with serving that stuff I really don't know. The staff were a bit grumpy......but maybe they were tired. Anyway.......I might go back for their Pho......but I don't think I'd risk trying anything else. And while mall food always used to be cheaper than at major restaurants, I found this to be about the same price as most Vietnamese restaurants.More

Nothing special about this food court option in Hillside Mall. I ordered the Beef Bunh Mi (Vietnamese Sub) and a Spring Roll. The Bun was toasted, as it should be. The Beef was flavourful and the Veggies were what you expect in a Bunh Mi....The Bunh Mi tasted fine. The Spring Roll was not that impressive. For a food court, this place was average.More

I was expecting "mall food" but got a better quality dish. I ordered the vermicelli with meat and half a spring roll, which was really yummy with the fish sauce. The other order was a beef noodle soup ($12), which was uninspiring and not worth...the $13. I found the prices a little high for mall food because you can get better at a sit-down Vietnamese restaurant for a couple dollars more but it's conveniently located at Hillside Mall and not terrible. Dining area is wiped down regularly and seating is socially-distanced. Hillside's food court is clean as is their washroom facilities. Better than the fast-food greasy options or Asian fast-food like Edo Japan.More
