What a find! My wife and I have been twice and have 4 different starters and 4 different mains, all have been excellent. The menu is creative with a variety of Chef inspired dishes which are different then your run of the mill bistro. The special board has items on it that makes me want to get back and try a dish before it's gone. All this with great service and reasonable prices, most dishes are under $20 dollars. We are so excited to have found this restaurant. One last note, it is a busy place so go early or have a reservation.

I cant say enough amazing things about this place. I heard about it through a friend who worked at the location in Banff. It did not disappoint. The vibe when you walk in, is amazing. Brick wall, open kitchen! The food selection all looked so good. We ordered way to much, however we ate it all. Salmon Tartar was my fav! The cocktails were amazing! I've been back 2 other times so I could try each one. The service was knowledgeable about the menu and the background of how The Block started. I would recommend this place to anyone who loves delicious food, amazing cocktails and great atmosphere.

Went to Block for a late dinner on a Friday. The ambiance and buzz was exactly what we were looking for after just getting in from the ferry. Cocktails were great as was the beer selection. Staff were all extremely nice. When it came to the food order, a little indecision prompted some suggestions from the staff and we ended up ordering two rounds of food because everything was so delicious. The mussels and bao buns were absolutely amazing, as were the lettuce wraps. It's hard to choose just a few things on the menu so I would highly recommend a bit of everything! Will definitely be going back next time I'm in Victoria.

What a wonderful suprise in the hustle and bustle of downtown Victoria.
With such a fascinating and diverse menu it was a breath of fresh air to have such knowledgeable and attentive staff to walk us through both the food and drink menus.
As per the servers advice, I was inclined to try some amazing food and drink I may not have normally gravitated to. Such a pleasant and exciting experience to not only have great service but a divine culinary adventure of new and exciting flavors and the dishes found therein. I now have a few new favourite flavors and dishes I will be looking for on my return to Alberta...fingers crossed.
I would not hesitate to reccomend this spot to anyone who is after a bar none experience in Victoria.
My family and I had not only an incredible time, but one of the most memorable dining experiences to date.
While you're there do not hesitate to ask for Andy the manager as his personable nature and desire to make your experience memorable seems second nature to him and had all the time to chat and make us feel like family.
If 6 stars were an option I would ask to rate this venue a 7.

Walked in on a busy night, but still managed to get a spot at the bar - definitely glad we did! Staff were awesome to interact with, both bartenders were hilarious and happy to teach us about the cocktails they were creating. I still remember the ingredients for the Ube Colada! The food was excellent, we tried a number of items, including the spicy salmon tartare (delicious), the Japabao Dog, and the tofu dish on special that night. Shout out to Chef Tyler and the whole team - amazing food and service - and always happy to see a dairy free dessert! Excellent addition to the Victoria food scene.

I've enjoyed two incredible meals at BLOCK over the past two months and to say I'm a fan would be an understatement. The first round was a couple of days after opening and we enjoyed a Chef's Choice menu featuring new favourites prepared by Chef Tyler, Chef Shohei, and their team. Everything from the creative and delicious cocktails through the perfect macha cheesecake to finish was phenomenal. The service staff was attentive and educated on the menu which always adds to a great experience! I went back with girlfriends at the beginning of March and enjoyed yet another wicked experience. This is definitely going to be one of Victoria's top spots and I look forward to visiting again soon! Congrats BLOCK team on bringing this great spot to Victoria!

This was my 3rd time at this restaurant. The food was very good-we had the gyozas, duck spring rolls and Korean chicken. Prices for non-alcoholic cocktails were expensive compared to other similar restaurants in the area that we visited. Service was friendly but drinks took a long time to come
I was very disappointed in the cholocate crème pot. It was like a a very hardened chocolate fudge with a hint of coconut. Served with a few berries and a very underripe strawberry.

This is quite possibly the best restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. Asian fusion of all sorts. There are small plates that you could share so you can eat sort of like a tapas menu if you want to. We had five different small plates and each one was phenomenal. we had tuna Tataki,fried chicken skewers, a seafood medley and much more. Every dish was oh my God delicious. We came back the second night and had five different small plates and the exact same thing. Beyond delicious. If we were staying in Victoria longer, we would eat here every single night , the food is inspired , tastes are delicious, the service is wonderful. It’s a small place, but it feels very intimate with old brick walls and nice furnishings.

We (a party of four) really enjoyed our meal here. The Asian fusion-ish* food was delicious, and the service was top notch and friendly. We felt very well looked after.
Even though the restaurant was busy, we did not feel rushed and our waiter was happy to take an order for an extra dish after we'd finished our initial order. The open kitchen was calm and everything looked completely under control.
We will be going back on our next visit to Victoria!
* I say "fusion-ish" as the culinary cultural origins of the dishes were clear, just with some delicious twists. There were no outlandish combinations at all - just carefully prepared, really delicious food.

An amazing dining experience. I went to Block on a first date. Our server Heather was super knowledgeable about the cocktail and mocktail program and recommended some very tasty drinks. Our food was spectacular, Chef Tyler even came out and said hi. The miso scallop that was on special that night was one of the best bites I’ve had this year. I would highly recommend going to Block!

Wow!! We visited at around 8pm on a Tuesday and ordered the mushroom risotto and their daily special, a Curried Prawn dish with mushrooms, rice and kimchi. Both dishes were absolutely amazing and the team at the restaurant was amazing. Loved this meal and the service was great!!

We walked by this brilliant restaurant the previous evening and it was buzzing with activity, loads of diners and from the window looking in, a vast array of appealing looking food being delivered to the tables. We decided it was a must go for the next night's dinner.
Welcomed at the door and quickly seated by the pleasant front of house lady, the restaurant was quiter than the previous night, but we were early at 7pm.
An efficient and knowledgeable waittres came and explained the menu, fusion food style and the house specials for the night.
We started with one, a grilled scallop topped the miso, flying fish roe and crispy sweet potato, served in the shell.... Just superb!
Second was Saikoro Steak and Kara Age Chicken strips also just a wonderful combination up of flavours, dishes timed comfortablly to allow for a pallet refreshing wine.
Another house special for the final savoury course, Meatball Bao Mi was again delicious.
Finally, desert Maple Miso creme bulee, wow!
Highly recommend this restaurant, brilliant food, great service and vibrant atmosphere!

Industrial look - narrow tube with open bar and front cooking - cool style. Very nice, funny owner. We had the Ssikoro Stek as a starter and prawns in yellow Thai curry and Ahni Tuna Tatski as a main course - and the Matcha Cheesecake for dessert - everything was beautifully presented and very tasty, fine aromas, simply well made

We shared various dishes together, all of which were freshly prepared and attractively presented. We liked the combination of different Asian influences, even if we liked some dishes better than others (we would skip the desserts next time, for example😬).
But we would still happily come back and recommend it to others (we gave it 5 stars for a reason).
