We enjoyed the food and service here very much. My husband got the king crab legs and they were perfect! I am giving 4 stars because they require a temperature check by forehead to be seated, which felt extremely invasive and inappropriate. We decline to...have our temps taken on our head and opted to have them scan our wrists however I am still feeling uneasy about this entire thing. Masks were required. Distancing was effectively enforced in the lobby. Distancing was clearly demonstrated in the dining room. This felt like a step too far. I hope more restaurants do not start this invasive and unnecessary practice. I’m sure some people will think “it’s not a big deal” but please remember that even a temp check is a basic medical procedure. No one should be entitled to your medical status and non-medical professionals (a hostess!) should not be tasked with this.More

Hi Alykru. You have reviewed the wrong establishment. The fish store (this trip advisor page) is located in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. We are tied up to the side of a dock and literally float. We do not have a lobby or dining room, we...More

Instead of hitting the usual tourist traps, this is a much better deal and the local fresh food and prices are your best bet. My favourite when hitting the wharf.

I have tried it all - never a bad meal. The Fish and Chips are a can't miss. The oysters are fresh, no need to purchase the premium. It may be hard to find one of the picnic benches just outside this take-out restaurant -...so try to avoid the peak period.More

Heard a lot that the Fisherman's Wharf's fish and chips were good so we came to try. We had a difficult time choosing which restaurant to try so in the end, obviously, we picked this one. We find the price a bit high and weren't...sure how big of a fish we'd get so we ordered a one piece fish and chips to start. We also ordered half a dozen of premium oysters but weren't really sure the difference between the premiums and the superiors. When we got our food, we felt that the fish were a bit small. Taste wise was great, and the batter was not thick. Oysters tasted really good, they had the fresh sea taste and again, quite small. Not many tables around and there were signs for social distancing. I guess because we went in October and because of CoVid, so not many people were there so it was easy to find a table to enjoy our food.More

Fabulous spot for casual supper ! Fantastic fish...BUT why on earth serve it with tartar sauce loaded with garlic ??? Normally I love tartar sauce. Totally not a good pairing with the fish...killed the flavours...no garlic necessary in tartar sauce pleeeeease.

Went specifically for the steamed crab, since fresh fish isn't common where I am. Not much seating but they had signs to make it clear what was cleaned and what wasn't. The service was great and the food was spectacular! The crab isn't cheap (not...surprising) but they were upfront about the weight and cost before placing the order to make sure I was comfortable with both. Would have been nice to get some kind of compostable fork to help with getting meat out of the legs when the mallet didn't quite cut it, but just had to put in a little extra effort there. Would highly recommend.More

Stop for some lunch, my wife had the deep fried Salmon and chips and I had the deep fried Fanny Bay oysters and chips ! Both were very good and we liked that the batter was not heavy and thick! The seafood, both the fish...and the oysters were really fresh! The fries were nice a crisp yet not over cooked either! Good coleslaw with nice accompanying sauces which appeared to be homemade! Not fancy, you biggest issue will be finding somewhere to sit anywhere on Fisherman’s wharf in Victoria Great lunch, I would eat there again!More

Have been going to this store everytime I am in Victoria. Their halibut fish and chips is the best in Victoria. If you like thin and crispy batter, this is the place to go

I love this place as they not only have regular fish and chips but they have a dedicated fryer for gluten free fish and chips. I’m celiac but my ups and is not and he likes the gluten-free fish and chips so much we don’t...even bother ordering two different kinds anymore. We are now grab fish and chips regularly. Such a treat!More

you can order just about everything on their menu to be made gluten free. They use a separate fryer, etc for their food.

Yes, there are picnic tables. Some are covered with tent tops on poles (open sides), worth the trip if you bundle up - they're amazing!
