It’s a floating restaurant I think and you just walk up to the window after waiting in line and order your specialties and wait for a table and then they bring out these amazing dishes steaming hot from the kitchen next-door. There’s a 20 minute wait probably but worth another wait! My friend had fish and chips and I had fabulous little Neck steamed clams that were meaty and tasty along with a slice of garlic bread for the dip! It’s really busy but staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We were only in Victoria 2 nights, but were so impressed by the food here we came back for seconds. There’s a good range of seafood with 5 different fish for the fish and chips, steamed clams, scallops and crab, fish tacos, wraps and sandwiches. They were superb with gluten free options, even having a separate fryer. Even on a busy night with a long queue we were still served in around 20 minutes, and there’s plenty of seating directly opposite on the wharf. There’s paid parking across the street, or it’s a short walk from town, but be careful if a cruise ship has just docked, as this is right on the walk from the port to town and can get overrun quickly when that happens.

We weren't very hungry but felt peckish so we split a bowl of 3-way salmon chowder and one halibut fish and chips. The chowder didn't really have any flavor, a bit heavy, not soupy, like too much cornstarch was used. What's nice was a piece of foccacia came with it. The fish and chips were good, the coleslaw is one that has a bit more flavor than similar ones I've had in the past that accompanies a fish and chips order.

This is a typical open-air fish n' chips stand on Victoria's very popular Fisherman's Wharf. The service was rather slow, but I think this was a reflection of the heavy business on this hot summer day. Food was good, but not special. Prices are fair. Staff was friendly. Ambiance is carnival-like festive and the view from the tables is delightful. One quirk worth noting: the sockeye salmon is actually less expensive than cod! That's unheard of most places.

We went to this restaurant expecting to see the fishing boat docked across from the restaurant. It wasn't there! In fact there is not tie-up the other than down the docks so I became somewhat suspicious. We were in the mood for some steamed dungeness crab. We were told that it was some ridiculous cost per pound and two crabs would be something like $150. Obviously we weren't interested in investing in there boat. There was an option for types is of fish in fish and chips. I asked if the cod was frozen and was told that it was. I asked if the halibut was frozen and was told that it was fresh caught. When we got the halibut the flesh was mushy and the batter was greasy and it all fell apart when you attempted to eat it. (Greasy and loose batter is usually cause by low oil temperature) The mushy and loose halibut may be caused by the fact it was frozen and not defrosted properly. Most of the fries were the small trimmings that had been cooked too long or often and the other fries, around half, were soft. Very disappointing because we were anticipating a good fresh seafood meal on the docks.

Decided to try based on the looks of the food! Glad we did! Line to order was fairly long due to cruise ship people but moved quickly. Ordered the fish & chips & a cod fish taco. Taco was excellent! Nice balance of flavors. Fish & chips very good(I liked Red Fish/Blue Fish better) but, The Fish Store gets bonus points for having fresh cut fries! We sat at one of the tables dock side & watched a seal swimming around

Absolutely loved the gluten free fish and chips. Large or smaller portion sizes available and they were freshly cooked with a really crispy batter. Jacob who served us was so friendly and helpful and eating fish and chips outside in the sunshine was just perfect.

Quaint location in the Fisherman’s Wharf with a few places opened for lunch this time of year. Basically a small rustic dinning room or take out. The fish and chips with cod and another order with salmon were top notch. Superb. World class for freshness of the fish, breading and cooked perfectly leaving the fish juicy. Never had tried the breaded salmon and cannot wait to try it again. Wish we tried the chowders but would have been too much. Very decent amount of food / ration. The cole slaw and fries were really good as well. Definitely want to return. We even got a discount on account of our Whale watching trip from there with Eagle Wing Tours.

We stopped in November long weekend on Saturday and they were one of the only locations open in the off season. Friendly and helpful staff helped us choose and we opted for the sturgeon tacos which came out in about 7 minutes and were very fresh. Some covered seating with heat lamps keeps the cold at bay, and price points on the high side but it was expected. We enjoyed it and would return.

We had the 1-piece cod and halibut which would be equivalent to mini fish and chips in the UK and was definitely enough. Beautifully cooked flaky fish in a light non-greasy batter. Served with a wedge of lemon, ketchup and tartar/aioli sauce which was delicious. The fries could have been cooked a bit longer but it was all tasty and great to be able to support a small independent business which also catches the seafood they sell.

We randomly picked The Fish Store for a quick bite of lunch during our walk in the area. We could not have made a better choice! The service and atmosphere are first-rate, and the food is ridiculously fresh and delicious. If you're on the Wharf and hungry, THIS is the place to go.

Halibut fish and chips was great... Fresh, well cooked and crispy. Coleslaw tasted just rite, and the tarter sauce was perfect. The front counter attendant who took our order was very friendly and I terested. The selection of Craft beer for me was okay also. Wish they had had more Phillips on the menu, but I was good with Fat Tug. Will so totally come back here again.

We were trying to grab a quick bite before our whale watching tour, so we decided to take advantage of the HH $1 oysters from 4:00-5:00 that were advertised on their website. Once there, the actual price is just 25% off. Service was poor, Oysters were average, kitchen staff was rude, and not accommodating to any request we made. We should have taken a locals advice and had the fish and chips next store at Barb’s.

Quick stroll from the cruise terminal. Ordered fried oysters, steamed mussels, seafood stew, fish and chips, and some local beer. All were fresh and delicious! Casual setting by the marina near sunset was perfect!

I ordered the salmon 3 ways chowder yesterday. 6$ for an 8oz portion. considering its location at Fishermans wharf I thought the price wasn't half bad. It was good, but not great. I'd buy it again but im not crazy about it. I went back today and got the 8 oz halibut malu for 5$ and for 7.50$ ordered 1 oyster taco. 2 fried oysters with a tomato sauce, shredded cabbage, cilantro, cream and a lime wedge. I only bought this because ive never even heard of an oyster taco, but it was great. 100% would buy again. Halibut mal, a seafood based curry was good. Could have spicy for me, and maybe some more cilantro, but for 5$. a good choice. Squeezed some of my left over lime wedge into it and it helped balance it. Needs spice tho! Overall, ill be back in a few days to try some more options off the menu. This place is seemingly more than the tourist trap I expected it to be!
